It was very frustrating, especially the part where we had to throw a ton of food away, but, we are back up and running now.

That happened to me and the silver lining was that I really enjoyed having a completely clean fridge and freezer. Saved a lot of effort and decisions on what was still good, but did I really want to eat it or not
