πŸ†β€οΈβ€πŸ©ΉπŸ† Dicknations for Sassy! Updates & Get Well Wang πŸ†β€οΈβ€πŸ©ΉπŸ†

Some more updates. After discovering that my Oncologist couldn't get me in for a month, I've been chasing down ways to get in sooner and decided to go back to the first Oncologist I met. He is at a hospital a little farther away, which was why he wanted me to go closer to my home. But I really liked him and many of the other parts of the team involved are at the hospital. I wanted my care team to be in one area if possible. So, this guy agreed to take me back, but admitted that because of my healing wound, we can't start until it is healed as much as possible because once I start chemo, that will basically stop the healing process. I have an appointment on the 9th to get that last wound check up and hopefully the final clearance for chemo. I will go in soon for my port so I am ready, and chemo will start October 17th.

Close to the month mark but at least this doctor feels involved and is my concerned with making sure I am as strong as possible for this. Chemo will basically be every 2 weeks and it will be about a 5 hour day. I will go home with another bag that will infuse for another 46 hours. They will have me come back 2 days later to have it removed for the first 2 times and teach me how to take it off myself for the future.
It will be very aggressive, and I get the feeling I will struggle a lot through this. I will definitely lose my hair this time. I will possibly end up with the Picc line and feeding bag again because one of the meds is common for mouth sores.

I weighed 136#'s this morning. Before going into surgery, I was 154#'s. So, they are obviously worried about me losing more weight.

This is going to be rough, but this guy sounds like the better option.
I’m glad things are progressing, but I certainly don’t envy this next phase.
I’m wishing you all the strength and love, Sassy! ❀️❀️❀️

I have no clue...so if I ask something assinine or inappropriate...I apologize. It really is out of concern.

Do you have a dietician to help? Cause...yea...I would be worried about your weight too knowing you will lose more from chemo. If you removed your boobs from the picture...you might be near 100# right now. Again...I am just being a dude and worrying about shit that isn't my responsibility...but I can't help but worry.

You can ask anything you like. That is part of the reason I wanted to do this thread.

Yes. I have both a nutritionist and I'm working closely with my diabetic nurse. The Diabetic nurse at least understands that I am only able to eat so much food (as of now anyway) and keeps telling me to remind the Nutritionist that I am basically a Bariatric patient and need to be treated as one. If you picture 4 ounces. That is basically the size of my stomach now. I can only get so much food in at a time. I have to focus on my protein because that is the most important for me. All the rest is sort of left out right now.
Right now, I have to eat 4-6 small meals a day. But once I start chemo, the mouth sores and nausea will be the 2 things that make me not want to eat.

And my poor boobs are turning into pancakes.

I like the fact that you are able to get into chemo sooner and also the fact that you like the team that will be taking care of you.. Hopefully your wound will be all healed even sooner..

I'm glad to hear you're getting in sooner and that you've got a O' guy (see what I did there....) who you like.

Hair is overrated..think of the wigs. I mean.... you can get all kinds of awesome wigs.

I have high hopes for you, in spite of the difficulties ahead.

EDIT: and both Demi and Sinead were hot bald. You could pull it off...you're that sexy!

It sounds like the plan has finally come together and that you have a team you like working for you. I know it is all going to be rough on you, but you are tough too. You did lose a lot of weight so I can see why they want to be careful.
By the way, do those pancake boobs come with maple syrup ;)

Well. They bumped up my port placement. So, I will get that on Friday. I'm glad I will have more than a few days between that and starting chemo now.

I finally got my car replaced after being totaled and I got a mini cooper roadster. Cute little turboed convertible. There is a guy here now detailing it for me. I am super excited, but boy is this thing going to take a while to get used to. It is totally different from anything else I've ever driven.

Glad you are getting your port sooner. Sounds like the Mini Cooper should be fun to drive and a rag top to boot! You should be going like a maniac with a turbo in it .

I have been thinking of you all day.. Was going to ask how things are coming along.. Good to hear from you and that things are proceeding along

I'm glad that you have an Onco team that you are feeling better about and are getting your port in sooner. A mini cooper turbo... woohoo! You're gonna have some fun driving that. πŸš—

It's weird after not driving a car for 2 months to jump into something completely different.
