i heard this on the radio a few months back and immediately searched for it. It is featured on a deep soul classic compilation cd that is now in my collection. Man, she belts this out, so why have i never heard of her, she should have been huge.

Crazy they have a super deep discography, 10-12 albbums,
of songs that sound nothing like this. Mostly protest and anarchist punk, but some are straight folk and pop. I know a lot if their fans despise this song and view it as a major sellout. It happens.

This to me was the ultimate song when I was in like eighth or ninth grade. Power Poppy, punky and catchy.
Of course, I had no idea at the time that this song was about masturbating!
It was their only song of note. I wouldn’t know any of their other songs if it hit me upside the head.

"local" band for me... Woking (same town as the Jam). They had a couple of good albums, but the curse of the one good song got to them.

In the 90s, gangsta rap made its debut over here with groups like Latin Kings and LoopTroop, but apart from a single hit or two they didn't make it big until much, much later. Wasn't until the early 2000s that rap and hip hop really started making waves on the Swedish market, as they veered away from gangsta rap and into comedic territory.
Enter: Fattaru. A collective of some of the fastest shooters in the north. This song was everywhere! And their skills are still impressive (no chance I'll attempt this @morelikeasong)
