Day 15: A song for making out

Her voice is sexy af.

Giving You The Best That I've Got - Anita Baker

By the time the old turntable got to this one, we weren't just kissing.

At least not the lips on her face.

But, yeah. At that point, and with that person, her songs and her singing were much more conducive to... a lot.

If we'd made it to the alter as planned, I have no doubt several songs by this particular songbird would have made an appearance at various points.

Day 14: A ‘fuck you’ song

This song is not my usual style, but what a fucking feminist rage anthem it is.

They get so offended when I say
Dead men don't rape
But where is their anger when I say
Women are
women are
women are dying

This is my body
My body is mine don't belong to the government
This is my body
It's mine to decide what the fuck I can do with it
This is my body
My right to decide is my right to my freedom

Delilah Bon - Dead Men Don’t Rape

I've never heard this before. I've got chills. Living in a world where the message isn't necessary would ideal, but that's not the world we live in so this song is perfect. Thanks for giving me a new favorite song.

Day 16: A song with a woman’s name in it

Carol Falling - Moreau's Island
i found my old iPod yesterday and this was one of the lost treasures on it... it took me back to the 90's(?) and standing in a dark club in London watching a relatively unknown band, opening for another unknown as they blasted this out and just exploding with joy at hearing it. They had a few singles and they got lost in the britpop obsessed world at that time (they were not britpop at all)
This still sounds amazing and vital now.
I'll never think any less of you, baby
