Pearl Jam's song "Jeremy" is based on two true stories, including the 1991 suicide of Jeremy Wade Delle, a 15-year-old boy from Richardson, Texas:
On January 8, 1991, Delle shot himself in front of his English class and teacher. Delle was described as quiet and sad by his classmates. After arriving late to class, Delle was sent to the headmaster's office to fill out a tardy slip. He returned to the classroom with a .357 Magnum revolver, walked to the front of the class, and shot himself.

I only include the story behind the song because 5 years later I would have the same english teacher for sophomore english...the students all knew the story but we never talked about it. that nothing has changed in more than 30 years is infuriating.

@morelikeasong It's not emo this time! But this is the Foo Fighters record that nobody talks about anymore, and that's a shame because there's such a DIY, gritty-garage quality to it. So much more noise and fuzz that I wish had stayed in the sound as Dave built out the band, etc.
