Day 15: A song for making out

The room is warm, dark, lit only by a few flicking candles. My mouth is devouring yours like you are the last piece of chocolate on earth, savagely savored. You pull your head back and my lips find the side of your throat, hungry to have you under my mouth. Your hands are wrapped around the back of my head. Mine are under your shirt, dragging my fingers along the skin of your back. And you are straddling my lap, thighs across my hips as you slowly grind against me. I want you -- need you -- urgently.

It's a mood...

"Glory Box," Portishead

How about
Love Hangover by Diana Ross

Day 17: A song with a man’s name into the title or lyrics

Patti Smith - Frederick
"kiss to kiss, breath to breath, my soul surrenders, astonished to death"
Written for her (now late) husband, you could definitely die happy having someone write this about you.
Waiting till my Bobby Comes Home by Darlene Love

Day 18: A song that mentions a food
This song is a goddamn jam!

There were beverages laid out for the party
There were candy and spices and tricolored pastas
The meat carved was drawn from succulent juices
Served on platters of the purest gold

Your Party - Ween

I’m away vaguely surprised when I’m reminded ween exists and wasn’t some fever dream.

Day 18- a song that mentions food

It's been a hot minute since I've listened to this band, but they always made me think a bit about what the Arctic Monkeys would have sounded like had they stayed on the trajectory of their first record and stayed in that bratty-punk-lite lane. I included the lyric video just to make the reference more obvious and apparent.

'So I'll get some Monte Christo's,
And we can all go see the band
Well I may not be a looker yeah,
But I'll help any way I can'

Day 15: A song for making out
Going to go back to what I had qued in my room boombox in college

Roxy Music - More Than This

Day 16: A song with a woman’s name in it

So many great choices still unused. The toughest part for me was picking which song from this band.

Lumineers - Cleopatra

Day 18: A song that mentions a food

I’ll admit, sometimes I write a prompt so I can post a specific song—perks of being the HBIC.

I just saw Olive live this weekend and they were incredible. Voice of an angel. Also face of an angel. Also… okay, yes, I have a little crush.

Their lyrics strike me, over and over again. This one felt particularly relatable in the way that kind of hurts. But, if you know me, that’s my favorite kind of music.

But I don't wanna tell you why I don't cry anymore
How many nights I've spent clutching my knees against the floor
I buy precooked rice
And I'm not that nice to myself

I don't wanna show you what it's like behind my smile
So I'll just keep my thoughts at bay and kiss you for a while
Let's keep our lips busy, get a little dizzier
Blurring this illusion that I've built for you
Don't shatter it now

Olive Klug - Precooked Rice (blurry illusions)
