Day 7: A song that was a #1 hit

David Cassidy - How Can I Be Sure
I will admit i have no idea if something was a #1 now... so i looked at a list from the 70's and this jumped out at me... i did actually buy the track a few years back and it turns up as my iTunes rumbles through random.
The line about "how's the weather" is great, trying to normalise a "word that is constantly changing" with a fixed reference of banality.
His voice is fabulous on this.

Day 7: A song that was a #1 hit

JOHN ROWLES - Cheryl Moana Marie (1970)

The inspiration for this great tune came from John's younger sister, whose name really is Cheryl Moana Marie. A mega-hit in several countries, including Rowles' down under homeland New Zealand, and of course Australia

This is so cool! I love this song and I've never heard his version before. ❤️

Day 7: A song that was a #1 hit

Four weeks at #1. Their first album before they sold out and went commercial, man.

"The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don't be Late)," The Chipmunks

This song brings back memories of me and my brother playing the cassette tape on repeat from December 1st to the 25th.

My poor family...

Day 7: A song that was a #1 hit

Holy shit, today's theme has sent me down a rabbit hole! Found a list of every #1 hit here from the 60s up 'til today, week by week. I'm just scrolling through everything from the late 90s and I'm having a nostalgic overdose!:love: I don't know what to pick!! Whaaaaaa confusing feelings😭🥰🫨 Screw it, roulette time, closing my eyes and randomly clicking on one of them... OOOO I loved this one!!

LeAnn Rimes - Can't Fight the Moonlight

Day 7: A song that was a #1 hit
I only heard this for the first time the other night. It's by an Irish comedian/singer called Joe Cuddy and it's gorgeous, the sort of voice that wraps you up and keeps you warm and safe. It was No1 for nearly a year in Ireland in 1974. 😄
