Day 4: A song that’s under 1 minute long

At this point, I think I’m relegated to theme songs or punk rock. I got this album from a small record store when I was in my teens just getting into hard-core. Not an original pressing tho. Still have it.

A quick blast of nihilistic energy. I still cling to the fact that they were the first hard-core band. Probably not true…

This album was made in 79. Belinda Carlisle was in an early version of this band. I had a punk rock crush on the bass player, Lorna Doom. Pat Smear is now in the Foo Fighters. Darby Crash is dead. The album was produced by a young Joan Jett.

Day 4: A song that’s under 1 minute long

A good argument is made that's it's an introduction to a longer song, but it is listed as the #8 track on the Diver Down album. Either way, it's a beautiful example of Eddie Van Halen's artistry and genius.

I love that one. "Little Guitars," the whole piece, is my favorite song off of Diver Down. Unlike a lot of fans, I enjoyed that album. Also it was the first tour I saw them on -- the "Hide Your Sheep" tour.

Day 4: A song that’s under 1 minute long
Dead Kennedys- A child and his lawnmower.
A full minute of bass driven mayhem about a fella shooting his lawnmower because it wouldn't start. Fair enough!

I first heard this on the Nocal and Nevada smaller called Not So Quiet On The Western Front. 2 record set - maybe 40-50 blazing hardcore songs. Plus it had Maximum Rock n Roll Issue 0. I still have both.
