🧘🏼‍♂️🤾🏻‍♀️Getting Sweaty Again: The 3rd Circuit 🚴🏼‍♂️🏋🏼‍♀️

I've been on my ass for the last week. Letting the cold weather keep my from getting in some decent workouts. I'm going to be making an effort to change that starting this weekend!

5 months completed at the gym as of last week (as of last week)! Covid and my vacation slowed me down a bit, but I'm in the best shape and everyone notices it :) I've been complemented quite a few times and some reasonable groping has happened to me ;)

Did a 3 mile walk/hike on a remote trail. Before the bomb cyclone hits later today. So a couple of days on the recumbent cycle,

I’ve been hitting the sauna pretty regularly after workouts and it’s been excellent. I find it difficult to break into a full body sweat when working out it’s usually pretty isolated sweating so it’s been good to get swearing everywhere. It’s an excellent detox.

I’ve never actually tried speed ropes. I’m not sure if it’s my insecurity of being tall and clumsy or that I would get too mentally bored.
Mentally bored...I cannot be the judge of that, but I have seen the guys in my gym, above 210 cm do the speed ropes as lightly as any ballet dancer could ever dream of 🤩

And.. there are one legged jumping, double unders..so many variations 🥰

As well as weighted handles, giving you an upper body workout as well.

I must admit, I did not think that I would enjoy it this much, but now it is an essential part of my routine ✨

Yeah I guess I hadn’t thought both the mental focus / activity of all the different movement types. I just picture the standard around top motion.

It’s probably like most things our prejudice and fears towards them likely are way off from what they actually are.

This morning was much better than yesterday. I did a core focused ballet barre class which kicked my ass. I have such a satisfying sweat right now. 😅
Nice work! Keep it up! I've lost my motivation with the holidays. I'll be back at it religiously after the New Year! 💪

In the Winter when I can't swim, I resort to stationary bike and step treadmill for my Cardio. My knees bark at me the next day if I try anything too high impact.

God Bless your young knees that can handle that hopping!! 😘🦿
... I am not that young... 🤫 I am just lucky, good genes and taking generally good care of my body.

Yeah.. I have had periods with nagging knees and almost chronic shin splints 😳
I had to give up running on asphalt, that was always a sure way for me to be limping for a week.. or more.

But, I removed the running on asphalt, bought some better shoes, learnt that compression clothing was my best friend, kinesio taped the life out of my knees... adjusted my diet.. well.. I am not on a diet 😅 but, removed the things that was bad for me.
Sauna, stretching.. hot bottles in the bed at night.
Got a trainer, one that was able to help me get over the problem.

It was not easy!! Gosh.. it took a couple of years. And I know, I have been extremely dedicated...But... Now I am doing the speep rope.
Yet, you will never see me running in the city again.
