🧘🏼‍♂️🤾🏻‍♀️Getting Sweaty Again: The 3rd Circuit 🚴🏼‍♂️🏋🏼‍♀️

Today was a tough one to get in because there are so many things happening. I had exactly 1 hour to get my back and biceps done, and I completed it in 56 minutes... (normally over an hour when I can take longer rests). The best part is tonight I'm out with the boys, so I'm going to load up on pub food that has lots of protein!

Good luck to everyone today with their workouts :)

The weather is amazing today so I really should do a mid day run before lunch… now I just need to summon the motivation.

Coaching baseball and soccer is at least keeping me active. Sweating a lot, so that's good.:)

Good morning All ☀️

A question for the group: How do you get rid of soreness and muscle pain? Do you have some go to stretches and exercises? Which ones? Do you rely on ibuprofen? Grin and bear it? Something else?

I ask because I have found that I can deal with leg soreness through stretches, but if it’s back pain I don’t really know how to treat it, especially if Advil isn’t cutting it.

I tend to carry anxiety in my shoulders and upper back, and it’s hard to get rid of that pain. It turns into headaches if it goes on too long.

What works for you?

Roll on lidocaine. Massages. Both are preferable.

That’s where I carry stress as well. I’ll get a knot right behind my shoulder blade and it’ll stay for days if I don’t do something about it.

Good evening, SB!

I foam roll when I need to. Also, are you drinking enough water and getting enough protein? I'll add electrolytes to my water if I'm having trouble staying hydrated.

Try getting a massage if anxiety and tension are leading to headaches.

It's great to see you!
❤️

I use a recovery supplement with amino acids, potassium and sodium. Drink it during and post workout.

Yes that roll-on stuff helps a lot. 👍

Hi Sally! It’s great to see you too :)

Ah, my nemesis… the foam roller. Yes it works, but it sure hurts. ( whining ensues 🙄)

I do need to get a massage. I got one a couple weeks ago and it was amazing. My stress melted away. I was also on vacation so that helped too. 🌴☀️🌊🏖️

I need to look into a supplement. Thank you for the suggestion, Chilly :)

Ice bath. Right after your workout and you are feeling the pain. Or a cold shower if you can not push yourself through the ice snap!

Ooof…idk if I’m going to do an ice bath. A cold shower seems manageable. Maybe I’ll give that a shot. Thanks :)

45 minutes of every squat variation, box jumps, deadlifts and hip thruster bridge things that nearly killed me. Tomorrow (hump day) will be very boring for me lol.
Damn girl! 🔥

I know right? Rolling is my personal hell 😂 I'm heading for my massage today. It's not going to be a relaxing one with the amount of leg work I've done in the last few days.

I hope you had an amazing vacation!

Rolling is my personal hell 😂

Rolling is the worst. I have skinny legs so it feels like I’m just rolling on bone and tendons… my hip bone feels bruised from doing Pilates yesterday on a yoga mat on a rug… 😒

I really want to get one of those chirp back rollers though (not for muscle relief just rolling my back) they’re too expensive to justify. (And no the irony of replying to someone named sparrow about something called a chirp is not lost on me)

I don't have these but they've been in my Amazon cart for a while now. They are half the price of the Chirp wheels and seem to have good reviews.

Those do look good and very similar. I’ve also seen a cheaper cork version as well. I’m rather bony so the idea of the chirp (and cork version) having a channel for my spine is really appealing to me. I recognize that could all be just marketing and I wouldn’t actually notice a difference but the allure of the center groove is what peaks my interest.

Stretch and strengthen your hips, abductors and hamstrings as often as possible.

So much cycling this weekend. Google tells me it's a bit over 30km, with a lot of it uphill.
Perhaps isn't much to some of you, but it's a fair bit more than I've done before.
You’ll be ready for spin class in no time!

I've been doing ballet barre work for the last three years and decided to start a 30 day belly dancing introduction class. I'm behind a few days so I doubled up workouts tonight. I'm feeling it in my lower abs, it was fun!

Belly dancing sounds like a lot of fun. I have a friend who took belly dancing and she loved it. She said it was a great workout.

You’ll have to report back about your experience.
