🧘🏼‍♂️🤾🏻‍♀️Getting Sweaty Again: The 3rd Circuit 🚴🏼‍♂️🏋🏼‍♀️

From my first walk today.
I did my walk first thing this morning so I would not be held back.
The second walk was with my wife and son. She is starting to try to get active again and had a difficult time.
I was as supportive as possible and didn't realize that I am more active than I thought.
She's going to try lower impact walks closer to home.

Looking good there!! 🙌🏻
Walking is such a lovely workout, not only is it good for the cardiovascular system, and we get to.. *cough* catch'em all *cough* 😇😆

-But the mental aspects are not to be forgotten!!
It is the fresh air, it is being alone with your thoughts.. it is the change of view.. seeing new things, noticing the world around us.

Walking truly got so many lovely qualities!!

Oh just a quick question while I'm here, this thread also ok for physical therapy?I'm on that for a while. ;)

Definitely!!

Injury and physical therapy is a part of life, sadly.. And, an important step on the road of getting stronger, healthier and just happier! 😻

Share a link or post your recipe here. Sometimes it’s easy to get into a rut with diet too, so let’s share some ideas here.
I'm going to have to have to try this chili, it looks good!

I'm not sure I have any go to healthy recipes. I use a meal planning app which is pretty good and means lots of variety. I also like to plan a couple is meatless meals a week, just because. The best I can think of is this pretty awesome mango tofu curry from Thug Kitchen...

It's pretty delicious and not full of a bunch of shitty things.

Recipe Saturday,

I usually have a lot of greens and salads.. not because I am a converted missionary Vegan.. 😆🤣🙈 but, I am blessed.. Just like all of us, with my own circumstances in life.. one of them being, A ridiculous digestion. Which means.. for me to feel happy and healthy, I should avoid certain types of foods.
Luckily.. there are so many ways to prepare a good meal!

This was my lunch today: (the eggs were a bit too well done.. 😑 I do like it best, when the yolk is runny)

IMG_3779.jpeg

  • Finely chopped red onion
  • Mixed leafs of salad (I like spinach, arugula, beets.. and so on)
  • Shredded carrots
  • Tuna
  • Capers
  • Two fried eggs.

And a lot of fresh black pepper and salt (ocean crystals.. I like the one from Iceland.. yeah.. I miiiight have 5-7 different kinds of salt.. no added taste, just.. from different oceans..)

Been dealing with injury so exercise and even work is difficult. Trying to heal and stay healthy. Cheers.

😔 Sorry to hear about that!!

You should definitely take the time you need to heal.. but also.. in the spirit of sharing recipes:

If you have the opportunity, you could use this time to look into your meals.. health is more than bench press, steps and how far you can run.

It is very much what you put into your mouth. ❤️

Thank you. I do eat pretty well.
About to head out for weekly shopping.

Good morning sweaters! I've been gone all week but I'm ready to jump back in for the August challenge!! I spent last week hiking through the Rockies in Colorado. While the milage added up, I balanced it with lots of food I'm not normally used to, and beer 😂.I guess it's all about balance right? Happy Sunday! After all of the hiking, camping, and travel, I'm easing in to my routine with some deep stretch yoga today.

Of course. I don’t know much about it and I look forward to hearing more. Welcome!
No…I promised to put up a picture here, to show my starting point before.

Yay welcome back @sallysparrow23! We missed you. Im so glad you had a nice trip to Colorado. And yes, it’s all about balance. 🩵

Welcome @LustfulIntentions2! Manhattans are good but im more of an Old Fashioned gal. Steak.. it’s always good. How do you like it prepared? Which cut?
I feel a lot better today so I thought I'd "take it easy" and clean the house 🙈

🥵
House work is a major workout. I feel like it’s even on my Lose it app- I think housework is an exercise in the list that you can log. So, it totally counts :)

Good Morning, Sweaters and Happy Sunday!!

Here is this week’s calendar
IMG_6862.jpeg

Sunday:

Today is officially“Left Handers Day”. Now, this could mean a lot of things, especially on Lit. 😈 To celebrate Left Handers day; is anyone here left handed? Raise your hand and be proud! They say it’s a sign of genius. Does being left handed get in the way of using any equipment for workouts? Is it like trying to use right handed scissors when you’re left handed? Bonus challenge activity: write us a note in your best handwriting and post a picture of it here. Is it just me, or do others find people’s handwriting so interesting? Show us your best penmanship.
Monday:
Ok. I hope you all will still talk to me after this challenge day. AMRAP means “As Many Repetitions As Possible.” So. You’re going to set a timer (a minute? 30 seconds? 2 minutes?) and you are going to see how many jumping jacks or sit ups or push-ups, etc you can do. You could decide to hold a plank for as long as you can. Time yourself. Challenge yourself. Do NOT hurt yourself.
Tuesday:
Do you keep a good journal? Is it on an app, or written in a notebook? What is your calorie budget? Do you stick to it? What are some “roses and thorns” when it comes to your food journal (aka the pros and cons).
Wednesday:
LEG DAY! What is your leg routine like? Which exercises are easier for you and which are harder? Have you ever injured yourself and had to compensate your workout or daily activities in other ways?
Thursday:
Podcasts! Which do you listen to? Any good fitness podcasts, books, etc that you could recommend? How about any podcasts that aren’t necessarily workout related but you just adore?
Friday:
VIP Day again! A mystery guest will provide a workout and clues: you try the workout, and use the clues to guess his or her identity.
Saturday:
Swimming! Such a great way to exercise. You get your cardio. You get your resistance training. Do you swim? Where? When? Did you belong to a swim team? What’s your best stroke? (Insert breaststroke jokes here…)

I'm a lefty! 🙋‍♀️I don't think being left-handed has inhibited any of my workouts or use of equipment. It affects me more with sports like golf and baseball, but I don't play either sport anymore so it's a non-issue.

Thanks for the schedule @Love_Is_Blonde!

I totally used to play... It was so fun. But we moved to an area where there's no Pokémon, no nothing that isn't 30min away...
😢
That stinks. :(
Especially since today is one of their Community Days.
BTW, I do hold the phone in my left hand when I catch Pokemon while walking. ;)
