🧘🏼‍♂️🤾🏻‍♀️Getting Sweaty Again: The 3rd Circuit 🚴🏼‍♂️🏋🏼‍♀️

Jumping into this thread, setting a goal to myself of doing something physical 5 days per week for rest of summer and the fall. Today, did a 5k training run. So much more needs doing.
Welcome Bry! Glad you’re here!
Just light exercise right now, actually 4 different ones 3 times a day to get my leg/knee stronger.Hard to get moving when you've had a brace on it for 6 weeks. ;)
Also have to go to therapy twice a week, ugh.
Sounds like you’re off to a great start after your injury. Slow and steady :)

Left-handed bike ride complete!
(Yes, it felt like someone else.. 🤣)

I hope you all had beautiful days!
❤️

Hey Everyone. Got some great steps in today. Been keeping up with my goals pretty well but definitely eating more to make up for the extra burned calories. 🤦‍♂️

I’m right handed but decided to try the handwriting challenge left handed. I’m not sure it’s too much worse than my right handed. 😆

I think this is very neat and tidy handwriting!

This is a good idea!

I’m a weirdo- I’m ambidextrous. I used to highlight my text books with one hand and wrote notes in another. Was pretty cool in college 🤓
Loving the purple 💜

Happy Monday, Sweaters! Up and at ‘em

Monday:

Ok. I hope you all will still talk to me after this challenge day. AMRAP means “As Many Repetitions As Possible.” So. You’re going to set a timer (a minute? 30 seconds? 2 minutes?) and you are going to see how many jumping jacks or sit ups or push-ups, etc you can do. You could decide to hold a plank for as long as you can. Time yourself. Challenge yourself. Do NOT hurt yourself.

This sounds like a great thing to do sporadically throughout my day to keep me moving a little.
A few pushups here.
Some sit-ups there
A long plank hold over there. 💪

Catching up as well 😅🙈

- I am from the generation, where everyone had to write with right..

So.. both handwritings does look funny. 🤣
I would say your handwriting looks kinda scientific with your left, and artistic with your right.

It is quite a skill to be quite so ambidextrous... both hands are perfectly readable!

😘

So.. although it is not picture perfect day.. I wanted to take you all for a very... (Emphasis on v.e.r.y ) short walk.

Off to the gym!

(@deft thaaaaaanks!! It is funny.. I have no preferred hand for most activities.. throwing or catching a ball, boxing.. even playing the flute!
Both hands works. Just writing.. because I had no preference.. The very old school pedagogues and teachers used to tie a red yarn around my wrist, indicating: you write and draw with this hand. 🤷🏼‍♀️ If needed, I could switch.. It is just because I am not used to it.)

It was a different time, for sure... when natural left-handedness was supressed. Not these days, at least!

Also... you play the flute? 😍😘🥰😻😻😻

Oh.. do I ever...

I was even at band camp once! 😉

But yeah, it was a different time.. which is interesting: I am only 39 years, and yet, so many things have changed! For the better. ✨🍀🥰

That is how it goes, we might complain about youth nowadays.. still, they will bring some positive change!

Back at working out.

AMRAP & EMOM
(As Many Reps As Possible & Every Minute On the Minute)

Two types of workout styles that I enjoy.. sometimes.. as they are truly intense and depending on your ability to push through the discomfort of working hard, you can gain a lot with them!

Yet.. These days I am mostly doing tabata, it feels the most natural for me.

What I have learnt with this kind of working out, the hard way.. is that:

You need to warm up thoroughly!!
No half assed swinging your arms and kicking your butt. At least 15 minutes good, concentrated warming up, before engaging in those kinds of workouts.

You will strain your ligaments, joints and muscles.. and.. For the love of everything good.. stretch baby, stretch!

❤️

Definitely agree. If you are going to do a full workout of these styles, you had better be well stretched and warm before you get started. Those are intense workouts and strain can happen very easily if you aren’t careful.

But a nice massage afterward wouldn’t be so bad either…

Just stopping in quickly to congratulate all of you (and me) in completing this challenge. It showed me that I need to up the intensity of my workouts. Being accountable to this group is a motivator, and it helps me a lot.

Tomorrow will be a bit of a breather. Looking ahead- it is about your food journal if you keep one.

Going to go crash now… the start of the school year makes me zzzzzzzz….

☀️Rise and shine!☀️

Tuesday:
Do you keep a food journal? Is it on an app, or written in a notebook? What is your calorie budget? Do you stick to it? What are some “roses and thorns” when it comes to your food journal (aka the pros and cons)
