🧘🏼‍♂️🤾🏻‍♀️Getting Sweaty Again: The 3rd Circuit 🚴🏼‍♂️🏋🏼‍♀️

I've been fighting a cold for over 2 weeks. I'm managing to keep up with walking for cardio, but that's pretty much it. It's a downer that I can't keep up with resistance training and mobility/flexibility. I tell myself the cold can't last forever, right? I enjoy this thread. It's great to see what others are doing to stay fit. ❤️
@Lady2020, right there with you.
I had to take the last couple days away. Finally got full blown sick. I tried to battle through early in the week which I did successfully. But Thursday and yesterday I needed to take off. I only hit the bike this AM for like 20 minutes. It was all I could handle.

I’m hoping to get an extended bike ride in tomorrow AM and if I fell up to it the actual gym to lift again.

Push day in the gym today.
Warm up with a sun salutation - (seriously guys if you haven’t tried this, it’s an incredible stretch and a great movement to start your morning)
100 push-ups
Various chest press and shoulder press movements.
Dumbbell and cable pec flys, varying angles
Dips

Sundays are the best days in the gym, can superset the whole gym, virtually nobody else present.

Know that you’re a beautiful human and spread kindness everyone x

Pull day in the gym this morning.
Sun salutation and pull ups to warm up.
Dumbbell rows and various machine/cable rows
Various (standing, seated, preacher) dumbbell/barbell and cable bicep curls.

Any movement which involves pulling weight toward your body really. Which usually results in using the back or biceps muscle groups.
If anyone ever wants any advice or pointers, just send me a message and I’ll share my knowledge with you. Resistance training changed my life for the better.

I remember feeing intimidated the first time I walked into the gym. However I found a beautiful and supportive community of people. All the regulars at my local gym are some of the best people I’ve ever met.

Shine bright today and tell yourself positive stories everyone!

Good morning sweaters! I saw this and thought it belonged here. Have a great day!

Leg day today!
Sun salutation and pull-ups/deadhang warm up

Barbell squats
Leg press/dips superset
Leg curl
Leg extension
Calf raises/core leg raise superset
Weighted sled push/pulls to finish up

Jelly legs activated with that weighted sled addition to leg day lately 😬

Don’t be too sedentary peeps. Even if it’s only some stretching at home, or a short walk.
Shine bright all!

Push day. It was raining this morning so a nice 2km walk to and from the gym in the rain. Blissful!

In the gym, heavy metal was out on the playlist and I went heavy on everything this morning.
So heavy that only, 2 sets of 7 reps, were able to be moved on some movements
Sun salutation and push ups to warm up.
Chest and shoulder presses with free weights
Dips and cable flys varying angles.
You guys know my routine now.

Get after it everyone. Know you’re beautiful and worthy…and shine x

Midday holiday run!
I haven’t done a decent cardio sesh in the past week or two, so it was good to bang out 5k in the rain.

I don’t post my run stats to boast, or for accolades.
I nearly died almost two years ago.
I was involved in a near fatal workplace accident.
I was in a coma for a week, I woke up with 4 fractured ribs, a punctured lung, a dislocated AC joint in my shoulder and, due to severe head trauma, I’d lost my sense of balance.

No matter what condition you’re in, don’t underestimate your ability to turn your life around and reclaim your health. Invest in yourself, one step at a time.
You’re worth it!
I hope everyone is smiling.

This is amazing. Proud of you for how far you've come!

Thanks beauty! Appreciate you.

Pull day today.
Richo’s normal warm up…
Various lateral rows, pull-downs.
Various bicep curls using free weights and cable machines.
I finished up with some kettlebell mobility in the cardio room today.
Farmers carries and some other movements that I don’t even know the name of to be honest 😬

Remember to be kind everyone, to yourself and toward others 🙌🏼

Good Morning everyone!
I have been unable to do anything since my last post. I've been so sick and it took everything out of me.
Unfortunately, I had to work, but on the bright side I was able to work from bed. I had an awful sinus infection and sore throat.
I finally started to feel better yesterday. I'm going to attempt to start back slowly. Maybe a 20-30 minute bike ride mid day. Then hopefully hit the gym tomorrow AM and get another bike ride in. I haven't been this sick in a long time. And it was so drawn out. I tried to push through it the first few days, but when it finally broke out, it hit me like a ton of bricks.

How's everyone doing this week?
I'm finally better but have done absolutely nothing to sweat. I'm actually so down about it because it's been so terrible with all the family and friends gathering.
I almost feel ready to give up and just come back on January 1st.
Kinda enjoying the rest for my body and the time away.

Anyone else feel the same way. I know I need to push through this, but it's just not happening with all the gatherings still.

Shaky legs this evening after a great belly dancing workout isolating hip slides and twists. I've been warming up beforehand with low impact cardio and yoga, and then a cool down stretch after. I have to stop eating like shit with the holiday over now, and I'll be feeling good again. ☺️

Holidays have been brutal for me. I feel that pain.

In recap of 2023, I dealt with a knee injury, logged over 250 miles on my roller blades, and started belly dancing. I've gained about 15 pounds in the last few months but I'm okay with it. I'm going to work on shedding it in 2024, shoot for more mileage this spring on my blades, and keep on belly dancing. Overall I'm feeling good about my physical self!

Happy New Year!

Thanks for an update. I wish you the best in the new year!! This was a great idea.

So, I'll also recap by 2023.
My 2022 ended really rough. It did not get better in 23 (only worse). I lost one of my parents to a long battle (sickness). That took so much out of me the first 6 months of year. There was a ton of depression and weight gain. I also dealt with several injuries to my head. That also played a factor in my 2023.

However, by the time September rolled around, I started to snap out of it and get my head right. I went back to the gym, started exercising and eating better. I finished the year down 20 lbs from my September start date. However, between getting sick and the holidays, I may have put a few back on. I have not been able to work out for a couple weeks now.

We have no big New Year's plans, so there is a chance later today I hit the gym, but definitely tomorrow morning.
It's time to recommit and lose the rest of the weight I would like to lost this year.

I love reading the recap of 2023 from you guys!
Seeing, understanding a bit of the ordeals you have been going through and sharing with us all, it feels rather warming, human, friendly and down to earth.

Thank you!

My 2023 started out pretty strange, physically I was doing really good!! And, I went on my first ever skiing vacation in February.
... How come no one ever told me, that skiing is absolutely amazing!? 🤩
We have already booked the next one, again this upcoming February.

Oh well.. I ended up having to deal with a real life harassment/stalker situation. That was kinda though. Then in March I had a partial tendon rupture. Rendering me unable to walk for months.

Well, with lots of stubbornness, encouragement, and probably a slight obsession with being active, I kept pushing, trying to find the right pace.. careful not to overtrain.
Oh, and I started to lift heavier weights.

The results: Yesterday I ran 9 km off road trail run, in under an hour, just to go into the garden, cutting down a 25 m tall tree.
We have been hit by several huge storms this autumn/winter, and we have to cut down trees in danger of falling or being uprooted in a way that does damage.

Weight wise, I have gained 3,5 kg.. probably from sitting still so many months, and not being able to train as I used to do. But.. continuing to eat as if I worked out with same intensity.
That is all on me. Oh well, I know what to do, and will lose that weight again.

Recap 2023…

Weight is pretty much unchanged. I gain in the late fall then lose it in the spring and summer.

Cycling about 1000 miles.
hike/walk every day at least 2 miles with the dog.

Mentally I struggled with a lack of affection, wife is finally getting the mental health care she needs.

2024 less time on socials more weights.

Recap 2023....

I finally got out and started running in Mai. I almost killed myself the first four times but slowly got the result I wanted. Autumn has been off and on with the running but I kept the pace.

I also got to the gym again. It's a place I like more than running, but I'll try to combine them both. I need the running as well as the gym. My goal is 2-3 times a week at the gym and 2 times a week running.
I will also fix my bike so I can cycle to work the days I don't need the car direct before or after the work.

I don't weigh myself. I work with how I feel and what I have the strength to do. And how my wardrobe fits.
So now I will marinate my acing muscles in champagne!

Happy New work out year everyone! 🍾🥂🥳

2023 has been up and down for me. Started with recovering from knee surgery but quickly got in decent shape by summer. Felt strong and active. Lots of biking. Body weight exercises and hikes.

End of summer came and the schedule shifted and stopped exercising. I’ve put on my winter weight now of about 8-10 pounds which I will have to work at losing now.

Headed out now for one last hike of the year in the cold. Something refreshing about being outside in the cold for a hike. Looking forward to a great 2024.

Happy New Year sweaters!

I woke up this morning after a full 8 hours of sleep- something that hasn't happened in many months, and felt great this first day of 2024.

Today I took my dog for a long hike through a nature preserve. It was cold and damp but it was so nice to get outside in the fresh air and be in nature.

Tonight I did a 15 minute pilates routine and then a 25 minute belly dance workout/routine and got to put a few moves together that actually flowed well and looked less penguin like. Dancing makes me happy. 🥰

I hope this first day of the year was good to all of you!
