2005 Weight Loss Challenge- Winter edition

One more month left. Who will be around for the spring challenge?

I'm already ready looking forward to tweaking things a bit, and having nicer weather. 30 days left on this one though. There is still time to get some good work in.

Yay for losing a pound redelicious!

I'm so proud of myself - I exercised last night! 20 mins on the elliptical trainer here at home.

:) Thanks. As of today I lost another one. Which is strange because on Sunday I was *up* two pounds. It was discouraging because I had actually done a better job working out since the last time I weighed in. Go figure.

You should be proud about the elliptical trainer. Is it getting any easier?

WD, I imagine I will still be hanging around. I think I've lost around 5 pounds since we've started. It's not a lot, but it will add up if I continue at this rate.

Not much yet, but I'm hoping it will soon. I did start out more slowly on Monday and I was able to make it all the way through without totally dragging my ass at the end! I felt like I wasn't getting as good a cardio workout though.

I sent away for the body of life challenge.

http://www.bodyforlife.com

Not sure if I'll do it or not. It could be a motivational thing to give me more focus. It's a 12 week deal, but you have to send in your before pics.

Hey WD, please let us know how it goes for you. Do they have a vegetarian option? I have heard about Body for Life but I don't know much about it.

Yeah I saw a yahoo group of vegetarian body for lifers with almost a thousand members. But you have to do 3 days of weightlifting along with 3 days of aerobics. And eat 6 small meals a day. And once a week you get a free day to eat anything you want.

Weightlifting? Eeeeek, I'm not so big on that due to my arthritis. In fact right now my left elbow and wrist are bothering so much I can't sleep, I'd be afraid to stress them with weightlifting.

I sure like that "free day" idea though. I understand that doesn't mean "a pint of ice cream for breakfast lunch and dinner" but it would give me the chance to try out those Reese's cookies I've had my eye on!

I wonder if there are any people who enjoy exercising? The only thing I like about it is being done and not having to do it again for 48 hours. Weights I like.

I like the being done part too. :)

Still not working with weights yet, though osg has been encouraging me to.

I'm also thinking of getting that book "The S Factor: Strip Workouts for Every Woman" - because hey, lapdance skills can't hurt! :p

The Body of Life thing does sound pretty interesting. WD, please, please don't take this the wrong way, but why worry about sending before pics? From what I've seen on the rare occaisions you've posted, you look fine to me.

Ok, now let's talk about me.

I just want to know when I got so darn uncoordinated. I used to enjoy doing step box, mainly because it was fun to learn the routines (not that I actually liked to *do* the routines). Now I don't seem to know my left from my right. And just when I think I get the steps down the video instructor throws in some new arms or hops, and I just loose it. AUGH.

I did a combination routine of aerobic circuit training and weights almost every day last week and still managed not to loose any weight. Maybe that had something to do with the Mexican food I ate Friday night (gee, ya think).

OK, I know I sound pretty negative. I'm not really, just wanted to get that out of my system.

Hope everyone else is having a good week.

I'm a little sore from yesterday in the chest. Sore is a good feeling though. As long as it isn't a really bad sore. Like after my first workout about 6 years ago. I had never lifted weights before. I remember soaking in the tub and wondering if was going to be able to get out.

Has everyone given up? Only 10 more days and we can start fresh.
Yeah, pretty much.

I can't really describe how frustrating this plateau is for me. It's been six months and I've stayed in the same little range. I am flirting with the idea of convincing myself I have an eating disorder and not eating much of anything at all. That would do the trick.

No, not given up. At least not completely. I'm just a little frustrated that I seem to keep gaining and losing the same 3 pounds.

I noticed my face looks thinner in the gym. Can't help but notice with mirrors on the walls.
