2005 Weight Loss Challenge- Winter edition

Another week of no change, but then I haven't been putting the effort into it. Ok, halfway point. Time to get refocused.

I was doing really good until school hitted full power again and I went back on the pill trying to get my hormons straightened out. When I am on that pill and I eat even partially wrong I gain weight like crazy, so all I lost is back on. Now I actually tossed all chocolate and stuff and make myself work out every night at least a few minutes to get my pulse up. I am close to stopping the pill again, but my skin finally starts to clear a bit, so its a win-loose either way.

I came up with a workout schedule

Friday- Nordic
Saturday-Gym
Sunday-Nordic
Monday-Gym
Tuesday-Nordic
Wednesday-Gym
Thursday Rest

I think in April I'll go back to the body for life workout of Upper body- legs- Upper body one week and Legs- Upper body- Legs the next. I'd like to build up my legs more to burn more resting fat.

I lost a ton of weight on the Body For Life program.

joining in, if i may...

Daddy's decided i need to lose 10 more pounds...He likes the outline of my ribs being more visble, back and front. He has given me a good weight resistance program, but left the cardio up to me...how crazy is that? He knows i can't make decisions! lol

so i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a 4x a wk cardio workout indoors, with no equipment? i cannot leave our home, so going to a gym or even jogging is out. any ideas? (right now i just jumprope)

Can you watch cable or satalite TV? You can try looking for Fittv programing. Our provider doesn't carry it, but you might find it. Or, would your Daddy be willing to pick up some aerobic tapes or dvds for you? He might be able to find some at your local library.

Failing that, you could always jump rope.

*lol, I just reread your post and saw that you are already jumping rope. So much for my brilliant ideas*

You may want to look into one of those step workouts. I think you can buy adjustable ones that stack for different intensities. Or if Daddy is handy, he could make you some. I've never done them, but it looks like it could get your heart rate up enough. You'd need a good tape or dvd. I'm sure there are some out there. Jumping rope is great also.

Fit TV has a lot of good stuff. They have one show with the big exercise ball, but the only time it is on is 6:30 am on Sunday. I was going to tape it today but I overslept.

hi :cathappy:

btw, if you don't start exercising, i'm sneaking over and stealing your elliptical trainer. i could use it. :D

thanks for the ideas WD and red. Daddy does actually have an old step thingy, but someone "misplaced" the accompanying video (okay, it was me). we do get fit tv on the satellite...if anyone knows of any more good cardio progams they show, especially daily shows, i'm all ears (or eyes).

Hi OSG!

Check out www.fittv.com for their lineup... they change it pretty often, so you can pick a time slot and just follow along daily...

Good luck!

I think we might have one of those videos! If we do still have it, then we probably have the step too. I can't use it though - too high-impact on my old-lady knees. http://www.amanita.net/images/smilies/worried.gif

Hey actually...I had an idea. I'm going to e-mail you with it. http://www.amanita.net/images/smilies/kissyface.gif

So put off getting on the scale until this morning. I had a terrible week (exhausted with the baby and a sinus infection to boot). Apparently I still managed to lose a pound. I'm not sure I really believe it but I won't argue.

Yay for losing a pound redelicious!

I'm so proud of myself - I exercised last night! 20 mins on the elliptical trainer here at home.

I now weigh 185 from a high of 250.

I once weighed 180, but that was under different circumstances and was not healthy. I am in the best shape of my life.

That's great! Sometimes the hardest part is getting started. Don't stop now.

I did it again tonight! I think I push myself too hard in the beginning, though, because I'm sweating in the first five minutes and then have to slow down toward the end just to be able to finish my time.

Very good! It will take a week or two to get your wind up. After that, you'll be increasing your time instead of slowing down.

I just had a cookie. I did not need a cookie. It is almost 1am. Why did I have a cookie? I don't know why. But I had a cookie.

Now I'm beating myself up. Sigh.

You had the cookie, precisely so you could beat yourself up. You wanted to beat yourself up and wanted a reason. So you gave yourself one.

If you're craving a cookie, let yourself eat a damn cookie, but don't let yourself beat yourself up about it. That just feeds the emotional eating cycle.

Ok went to the gym and this is what I did: 18 minutes of the step mill, 45 minutes of legs and 15 minutes walking on the treadmill.

Sunday I do the same and Monday I rest and Tuesday I do 30 minutes on the tread and 30 of muscle.

A box of cookies is bad. One isn't a big deal. I bet your burned off at least 10 cookies on your workout. You deserved it. Have another one. After your workout. :)

I can't remember how many calories the ellipse said I was burning in 30 minutes last year. It was a lot though.

I'm still adding a minute each time on the nordic. I'll do 37 tomorrow.

I'm keeping on with my dance training . Its very tiring after a whole day of work but its fun and it really helps to stay in good shape . And i'm losing weight too. :)
