A Pirates Life for Me. (IC)

Rynver thought about it for a moment. "I've been alright for a while without them... Would you do me one favor though?" She asked hoping that the other woman would help her out. "Would you see if you could find them. I don't want to leave the ship alone and I don't want to wander off by myself..." She laughed at how pitiful she must have sounded.

"Would you mind or is it too much to ask?"

IC: "Well I would like to help, but I still need to check out this ship for parts. Also more importantly I have no clue what they look like or where they are. I strongly doubt you'd want me to run around asking where your body guards are. That just screams attack you really."

Word quickly spread around the city that there was a giant snake that had taken up residence in one of the docks. This news (in some areas) even went so far as to say that it was not just a giant snake, but a Basilisk. This was enough to scare many ordinary folk into avoiding the dock, but it spurred on the hunters looking to add a Basilisk skin to their collection. Amoung these hunters were not only professional prize hunters, but also a few drunken recreational hunters.

The news spread mainly from tavern to tavern, as drunks went to inform their buddies at the other bars.

By mid-afternoon, a group started to form outside the locked doors to the dock where the snake was said to be.

Max had of course closed and locked the doors from the inside after throwing out the 50th intruder. He had closed the doors previously, but hadn't locked them; this time he locked them using a personal code that only a few people could guess: the date that he signed up for Captain Ren's crew.

Rynver had not thought of this when she had asked, it was amazing to her how childish she still was. "You're right... Will you do me a different favor then?" She asked thinking that this was far more reasonable. "Would you mind keeping an eye on my ship while you're looking for parts. I mean you'll be right here, you won't have to do anything really..." She offered hoping the other would help her out with this.

"I'm sure that I may know which bar they went to... probably the same one they went to earlier..." She sighed and headed out the doors without waiting for a reply from Jen.

IC: "I can do that but please don't take very long." I was afriad of being trapped in this favor for 2 hours or more, then again I do owe her alot.

After the guards went to see zasalamel about their drinks Ren and One-eye quickly left the bar. "Shes the one that put me on Xerxes for all that time." Ren explained to One-eye, who merely nodded as they went out into the streets searching. After about an hour they found their prey. The lavender skinned Rynver was out and about in full ceremonial dress, without any protection. Ren produced a small stunner from a pouch on his belt. He and One-eye took up position right behind her. "Remember me PGC bitch?" he asked as the stunner approached her back.

As it turned out there was a number of bars in the area about the dock and after checking two of them she decided to head back to Dock 13. She didn't get very far before she felt like she was being followed.

But that couldn't be it...

"Remember me PGC bitch?"

Rynver stopped upon hearing that... And soon found a stunner pressed against the small of her back. She didn't recognize the voice but she knew that either the other was very drunk and was mistaking her for someone else or she was in some serious trouble with someone that actually knew her.

"Can't say I recognize the gun to my back... or the voice..." She said slowly. "You better run while you still can... My body guards aren't too far..." She said sounding much braver than she felt. But this was no time for weakness.

Ren laughed, "Your guards are drunk and will most likely be sleeping very soundly by now. Walk fast, and keep quiet, or ill knock you out." He said. Nothing like a good marker, ransom is where the real money's at.

He was laughing that was a bad sign... That most likely meant that he knew something that she didn't...

"Your guards are drunk and will most likely be sleeping very soundly by now. Walk fast, and keep quiet, or ill knock you out."

She let out a huff. "Useless men..." She growled before deciding that she had no other choice, she wanted to be fully aware of what the hell was going on so she could protect herself or be able to recount it once she was rescued. She walked just ahead trying to figure out if she should bother to try and run... but in this dress... It would most likely lead to her falling on her face.

And then how stupid would she look?

"Did you drug them?" She asked suddenly. "Blaith... he's sensitive to certain chemicals..." Rynver, despite her growling about how useless they were, was a little nervous as to whether or not the other had hurt them.

"I know plenty about Sarconians and Ctarls, They will wake up entirely unharmed. Although I'm sure the 'great and benevolent Pan-Galactic Confederation' will execute them for allowing you to be taken. That is, after all, the PGC way is it not? To unite all the Planets of the 'verse in peace, to be oppressed and degraded equally." He said, leading her back toward the Vengeance "Your government, just like the kreeyar, have much to answer for, and I intend to make them do just that."

The young woman turned on her toes, her mouth open and ready to fight, when she paled visibly upon the sight of her captors. She went from the lavender color to nearly white. She stared up at them, words failing her for the first time in quite a few years.

"Your government, just like the kreeyar, have much to answer for, and I intend to make them do just that."

"You're going to kill me..." She said looking right at him for the first time since she had gotten him a guilty verdict. Part of her told her to run and hide, she could run from them... Screw the dress, rip it off if she had to but get away.

And the other half knew better.

IC: I stopped by to look out the window every so often. Her ship was very much still there. I wasn't able to find my motor or even a decent plasma convertor but I did find some useful peices of scrap alloy that I hopped to get on the cheap end. After all the only thing beter then finding what you are looking for is finding what you weren't at a great price.

"Speechless are we? terrible quality for a lawyer, especially a PGC prosecutor, who sends people to hell on Xerxes for defending their homeworld." Ren said. "But dont worry, i will most likely not kill you, immediately anyway. If i had wanted to kill you, i would have drilled you from down the street and been on my merry. And dont try to run, my finger is quicker then your feet. You wont take a step before you collapse into the dust and ruin that pretty dress." He said, "We're near to my ship now, so behave yourself."

Like she hadn't figured that out. Her color was soon returning, he was going to use her to get money to fund his stupid little pirate ship, he probably would kill her in the end but she wasn't going to cry... she had... she had to be strong...

"We're near to my ship now, so behave yourself."

"Bloody pirates..." She hissed as she continued to walk. They were all worthless pieces of trash in her mind. She was going to send them all back to that prison and there was no way in hell they were ever going to escape this time.

She could feel her hands shaking slightly, she remembered him now. He was that pirate who she had sent to prison for fighting against the PGC during the acquistion of his planet. It had not been something she had personally wanted to do but it was her job and he had broken the law.

Bloody Pirates He heard her hiss as he approached his ships platform. "And bloody proud of it." he said, pushing his way through a group of people in front of his door, paying no real attention to them. "Clear away from my ship boyos, or catch pulse blasts." he growled as he slid his keycard into the lock. The door slid open and he marched her in, locking it behind him. "Behold the Ogdru's Vengeance" he said, as he lead her up the entrance ramp. They entered the ship and he directed her toward his private quarters. Once inside, he put the stunner away and locked the door behind him. "Welcome aboard Miss Zheyn."

Rynver stood in the rom, of course she knew that he would lock the door and at the same time she heard it and wanted to disappear. Was it necessary for him to try and scare her like he was so effectively doing?

"Aren't you going to start calling people and start demanding your money or something?" She demanded as she moved to find a place to sit, but she could see that there was no such place other than the bed and she wasn't going there.

What exactly are your plans?"

Ren smiled at her. "No need for that yet. My ship is still being repaired, a minor run in with your illustrious counterparts, the kreeyar. Feel free to sit, i wont rape you, that would make me almost as bad your PGC." He said. "You are now my prisoner, I may decide to ransom you, but i may simply keep you here and let you off somewhere else. I haven't quite decided yet. But what I will have from you are answers." he said sitting on the counter where his Kona machine was. "How does it feel? To be a victim, held against your will in a hostile location? To lose your freedom, like I did, like your PGC would have done to my people?"

Ok, so he wasn't working with the Kreeyar and he said he wasn't going to rape her but how was she supposed to trust a pirate? Well... she couldn't and it was really that simple. She sighed and finally did decide to sit on the bed, she would trust him for now... "Well isn't that new... a pirate with morals..." She commented lightly ignoring whatever reaction that may have earned.

"You are now my prisoner, I may decide to ransom you, but i may simply keep you here and let you off somewhere else. I haven't quite decided yet. But what I will have from you are answers. How does it feel? To be a victim, held against your will in a hostile location? To lose your freedom, like I did, like your PGC would have done to my people?"

She looked up at him, her eyes sharp with anger. How dare he try and make her feel like a fool. She closed her eyes, eyebrows still furrowed in anger as she thought of what she should say. She didn't like feeling like a child who was being lectured and here he was...

"First off... They won't pay a ransom, the PGC has strict rules about that..." She wasn't going to let him find this out from some of the pompous asses that were in charge of 'human/alien relations' down there. "If you want money you should seek out my father..." She said with an annoyed sigh. "And as for how I feel... I'll survive..." She said looking to make sure that her manicure was still in tact.

Ren smiled. "We are few and far between, you should feel lucky that I was the one to take you, A PGC big shot, running around alone and unguarded. Especially one so attractive as your self. Sons of Dis, you werent even armed." He said, filling his machine with ground kona and water, before turning it on, and one again facing Rynver.

"Ah yes, the PGC 'will not negotiate with terrorists'. They blast cities to rubble from orbit, killing millions in the process, but I am the terrorist. Human logic I suppose." he said, filling his 'kiss the captain' mug with hot kona for himself. "Kona lass?" he asked, pouring rakum root into his drink and stirring.

"We are few and far between, you should feel lucky that I was the one to take you, A PGC big shot, running around alone and unguarded. Especially one so attractive as your self. Sons of Dis, you werent even armed."

She scowled at him. She was not supposed to carry weapons on her person, it was one of the many things that a PGC representative was not supposed to do. It was seen as threatening and there had been more than one occasion where a fight had broken out to a drawn weapon during a meeting.

"Ah yes, the PGC 'will not negotiate with terrorists'. They blast cities to rubble from orbit, killing millions in the process, but I am the terrorist. Human logic I suppose. Kona lass?"

"Yes thank you..." She said to the question of Kona. There seemed to be no point in arguing... he was in control and she really didn't need him that angry with her. "It's hard to explain pirate..." She said having not been properly introduced. She had been trying to come up with better methods but some of the old fools were stuck in their ways. "Much too hard to explain..."

Ren poured her a cup and handed her a packet of root and a stirring rod. "Too hard to explain to a dumb pirate you mean?" he said, smiling. "By the by, my name is not pirate. My name is Captain Rengakus Sejisilic Navarone'naya'gall, but most simply refer to me as Ren Navarone, Ren, or Captain Ren. For now, i think it would be best if you refer to me as Captain Ren." he said. "So why would such an illustrious personage as yourself be on Wyman Sylry 9?"

"So why would such an illustrious personage as yourself be on Wyman Sylry 9?"

She frowned. She hadn't thought of him as stupid at all but now she was getting the feeling that maybe he was.

"Obviously someone didn't want me to get to tonight's meeting. I was supposed to talk about equal rights..." She stated. "Must not have sat too well with someone because my ship is 'broken down' and I'm on this rock with my two idiot guards getting kidnapped by a man I put in jail..." She explained.

"I'm sure someone will be shocked and pleased to hear I've been taken out of the hair for good."

"I imagine equal rights would indeed not sit well with your people. They cared nothing for my people's rights, and we had done them no harm." he said taking a sip of his kona. He walked over to his intercom, and keyed it to broadcast from both the internal and external speakers. "Max, Come to my quarters at your earliest possible convenience." he said. "Max is my security chief, once he arrives you will be confined to quarters, As long as you behave yourself I wont throw you in the brig." he said. "So tell me about yourself Miss Zheyn."

"Max is my security chief, once he arrives you will be confined to quarters, As long as you behave yourself I wont throw you in the brig." he said. "So tell me about yourself Miss Zheyn."

She sighed. Well, there was no getting out of this now was there?

"You already know a lot about my person Captain Ren..." She said looking up at him after taking a sip of her Kona. "I think the most important facts are that you hate me and I put you in jail..." She continued before taking another sip from the mug.

"As for me in general? I have become a lawyer, defending the innocent now... Not that that would mean much to you, Captain Ren..." She was saying it as if she really didn't care to use it.

"What about you? Who is my captor?" She asked not really knowing if he would bother to answer.

"It is not you so much that I hate Miss Zheyn, it is who you represent. You, on behalf of your government, put away the greatest and most noble men i have ever known. My crew, most of whom were not Jahad, came with me to defend Ogdru from your government, when i gave them the option to leave, as it was not their fight. You and your government put them away, and now they are all dead, I alone survived, though your people took my leg, my arm, and my eye." he said, pointing to the bionic replacements.

"Your war with the kreeyar caused the kreeyar to virus bomb my world, turning it into burned, airless rock. My family, including my young sister Lumara, were killed either by the PGC's orbital strikes, or by the Kreeyar's virus bombs. 15 years i spent on Xerxes, imprisoned by your people, for fighting to save my world and her people. My crew and I tried to escape, those who did not die in their cells anyway, and they were all ran down and slaughtered like dogs. I hate your government more then you have the capacity to understand, but dont take it too personally, i hate the kreeyar just as much." he said.

"As for my life, I was born on Ogdru, and left to find adventure among the stars, I became a captain, and led my crew on merry quests upon the galactic sea, it was then i found out that the PGC was en route to attack Ogdru, my crew, to a man, volunteered to fight by my side, and when we arrived the battle had begun. Ogdru's defense fleet was no match for the PGC, but those brave warriors, many of whom were my kin, fought like heroes, then the kreeyar arrived and joined the fight. Ogdru's fleet was no match for either one, let alone both at once, and was destroyed in detail. The kreeyar were also eventually beaten, but before they bugged out, they sent their virus bombs raining onto my planet. Do you know how Kreeyar dehabitize a planet?" he asked his eyes boring into hers.
