A Pirates Life for Me. (IC)

Ianthe watched the going ons and tried to be of help, carrying what she was told to and hurrying along as quickly as she could. It didn't seem like she was going to be of much use yet. She kept her wings close and watched the men talk to the captain, he freaked her out a little bit. She tried to stay out of sight, deciding that it was best to not be noticed or seen if he was going to be taken aboard the pirate's ship.

When asked who was ready, she nodded that she was ready and eagerly entered the barge when she was directed to. She had seen Cale fighting with some of those Kreeyars and hoped he was alright but she had to thank the captain.

"Thank you sir... Who knows how long I would have been trapped on this hell hole..." She said to the captain. Her eyes wandered to the older one who seemed to know things. "And thank you...." He would know for what.

Ren smiled. "Not at all lass, any enemy of the Kreeyar is a potential friend of mine." he said as the barge sailed back to the Vengeance, One-eye merely nodded at the young kylari.

The barge landed safely, and Captain Ren emerged leaning a bit heavily on a slightly damaged bionic leg, and with a good cut in his arm, but otherwise unscathed. One-eye was untouched, lookin as calm and collected as one who had just taken tea instead of engaged in a boarding action. "Boatswain,a casualty report if you please." Ren asked. "Arkis and Racham are dead. Airgetlamh may not live out the night. Most all boarders are injured, save Blade, Myself, and apparently One-eye." "Thank you Bar'yek." he nodded to the kreeyar boatswain, who had earned his grudging respect due to his heroic combat skills aboard the enemy ship. Ren turned to Ianthe, "Well lass, I suggest you make haste to the medical deck, Mister MacRoich? escort her please." he said to a burly riada security guard, who merely nodded and grabbed Ianthes luggage in one hand. "Quartermaster, see to Mr. Toalas, get him some proper pirate kit. Something in a blade and blaster i should think." He then turned to Cale. "When you've been outfitted proper, come to the bridge and we'll discuss your place in the crew." Ren said, as he left for the bridge.

When he arrived on the bridge, he had a look around. "Well well, how was your first command of my vessel Number One? Exhilirating i hope?"

IC: "Aye captian, although I managed to scrape the paint job. Shouldn't be a problem again though I know how she handles now."

"Good good, lets make for WS9 shall we? I got a cargo hold needs patching, and we could use some more crewers."

Max got off that barge and was directing the moving of the unconscious Kreeyar to the brig when something with wings caught his eye. Turning his head slightly, he saw that it was a woman with white and gold wings, and long, almost white hair. Again, instinct shouted at him, but he quickly silenced it.

He was slightly disappointed when the captain took no notice of him, but only slightly. Max mostly didn't care, mainly because it was his job as an inflitrator/assassin to go unnoticed.

After the unconscious Kreeyar had been unloaded and moved to the brig, he went down there as well, dragging the two dead Kreeyar and the Kreeyar captain with him. Max found the stasis cell that the captain had mentioned, but Max didn't know how to operate it just yet. So, after placing the two dead Kreeyar off to the side, moved over the computer console and started looking through the files.

IC: The helms men nodded and set the coarse. I tapped on the intercom. "All hands prepare for warp jump." I clicked off the intercom.

"So did you bring me anything captian."

"Nay lass, but theres all sort of goodies down in the hold, help yourself to something." Ren said, sitting in his chair. All stations were prepared for the warp jump. "Make it so." Ren said, leaning back in his chair.

It was odd how everything seemed to be going in slow motion, it was odd to see everyone running around in such a manner but maybe it was because she was feeling a little claustraphobis of the cramped atmosphere of the moment. Ianthe managed to look up at the captain when he spoke.

"Well lass, I suggest you make haste to the medical deck, Mister MacRoich? escort her please."

She looked to the man, who looked very big to her at least, and followed him the the infirmary where some of the men from the 'rescue mission', as she was calling it in her mind, were already waiting to be taken care of. She sighed and set her purse down, she had only just become aware of the fact that she was clutching it to her chest as if deathly afraid she would lose it.

"Alright... Who's first?" She asked as she moved to wash up and get on some gloves.

IC: The ship shifted into warp suprisnly well considering the damaged haul. Soon we were at cruising speed. "Ever been to this port before captian?"

"Aye, it can get a bit rough there from time to time, last time i was there it got raided by the PGC, its bit close to their territory."

IC: "Hopefully it will be quiet, I'd rather encounter the PCG on our terms." I too had been here briefly with my last pirate crew. I had encountered a pidley bounty hunter out to make a few bucks. I managed to duck him until the captain left port. I was probably lucky the captain didn't know about the bounty.

"I hope its quiet also, my leg needs repairing." Ren said. He looked around his new bridge with pride, and settled in for the trip to Wildspace 9.

"I will do that as soon as I have got what I need Captain Ren. Thank you for rescuing me from those Kreeyar scum."

Cale looked at the quartermaster and wondered what he was going to do now. He was still injured from the fight but right now he did not care. He was getting something that would help in the fight with the Kreeyar and that was the only thing that he cared about right now. He knew that he was not like the other Sarconians in the galaxy but he did not care. He knew all he wanted was to kill as many Kreeyar as he could, even if that meant putting himself in danger. He turned to the quartermaster with an evil grin on his face.

"What do you have in the way of weapons?"

The quartermaster looked at him, trying to figure out just what he could give him and said, "It depends on what you would like. You would be surprised on what we have on this ship."

"I doubt if I would be," he stood there for a second and looked at all the weapons on the shelves behind him. "Just give me four of those plasma pistols behind you and that beautiful phase saber. Don't tell me that I can't have them because I heard Captain Ren tell you to give me anything that I wanted. Oh, and some of those clothes as well."

As soon as was dressed and and placed the weapons on his body Cale moved towards to the bridge, only to stop in front of the captain. He looked at Ren, wondering whether or not to salute but argued against it.

"Cale Taolos to see you captain. I am here to discuss my place on this crew - if you will have me that is."

IC: 'Cale Taolos to see you captain. I am here to discuss my place on this crew - if you will have me that is.' I eyed the new recruit, a Sarconian, he would likely fit right in. I considered commenting about the captain picking up men while boarding a ship but then decided I should mind the ship and let the captain be about his own bussiness.

Ren appraised the sarconian silently, then turned to One-eye, who merely nodded. "Mr. Taolos, what am I to do with ye?" ren said. "This one beat a kreeyar warrior to death with his bare hands, quite impressive, quite impressive indeed." he announced to the bridge crew, to a few surprised whistles. "I suppose you'll have to be my sergeant-at-arms, Number one." he called to Genifur, "See Mr. Taolos to the raiders quarters, give him the 3rd deck commander's cabin, his new charges will be all around him. If those raiders give you to much trouble, send them to me for summary punishment." Ren said, smiling. "Welcome aboard the Ogdru's Vengeance mate, dismissed."

"Aye captain." I walked over to the big guy. "Taolos, welcome to the crew. I see you found the armory. This way if you please." I stepped off the bridge and moved down the hall. A couple of crew men walked by talking about an atractive new medic. I should probably see her before returning to the bridge.

"Alright... Who's first?" She asked as she moved to wash up and get on some gloves.

Of course Ianthe was a gentle soul when it came to most things. But these men that the captain had hired were downright babies when it came to needles. She tried to be patient and soothing to get what needed to be done done, but it seemed that they were going to give her a hard time with it.

She looked at a rather large burly looking human. He was one of the toughest looking men she had ever seen but it was he that had been the most skittish. Well... there seemed to be only one way to get anything done with these men. "If you're really good, Dervish, I'll give you a kiss," she prompted with a very pretty smile.

That seemed to catch a few of the other men's attention as well.

"Just sit still and let me stitch up your shoulder and we'll be just fine alright?" She asked trying not to push her luck with some of them. They were strong and sometimes didn't know their own strength and that was, in fact, the last thing she needed really.

"Now was that really so bad?" She asked tying the thread and applying some guaze. Very quickly she leaned up and kissed him on the cheek. "There, thank you for sitting so still," she said as if she was a mother talking to her little chick. "No head on out, you're fine, just come back and see me tomorrow," she called.

"Men..." She said finally shooing all of the men who were not critically injured out of the medical bay. "I wonder if that prisoner is alright?" She thought aloud as she started to clean and sanitize the entire room.

Cale followed the first mate off the bridge still in a state of shock. When he had started this day in the absolute darkness of the cell he never thought that he would be rescued and made sergeant-at-arms on board the ship that had rescued him. His first reaction was that he did not know what to do, what he was going to do from now on. The only thing that he could do was go to his cabin and rest.

He stopped suddenly though when he heard the two men speaking of the new medic and wanted to go there instead. He knew that he should go to his cabin as his captain had ordered him to do but he wanted to go to see the medic if it was the same one that had helped him in the cell. He looked at the walls and read the signs that were there, looking for the direction of the sick bay. With a small smile on his face he saw that he was close to it and walked in that direction. He just hoped that the first officer would not punish him for doing this.

As soon as he got to it he stopped, took a deep breath and walked into the sick bay.

"I know that it is but your first day here and you must be tired but was wondering if you check my wounds."

He stood there for a second, "I am sorry to sound so stupid but I just wanted to see you alone and thank you for helping me Ianthe. I know that I would not have survived without you and that I owe you my life."

IC: I moved forward and found myself suddenly alone. "Stealthy isn't he?" I headed back and peaked around the corner, he seemed to be heading inthe direction of the medical bay.

Well if there is a new doctor I am curious too. I fallowed some distance behind him at a casual pace. He entered the bay, and I fallowed him in but some 30 seconds later.

'...and that I owe you my life.'

"I smiled. So your the new medic, I supose you'll be needing a room to then."

Ianthe was elbow deep in sanitizer as she continued to clean the whole bay. It was much larger than the little infirmary she had had on the the Kreeyar ship and she was quite thankful for such a blessing as to be rescued and taken aboard a ship where she would most likely be set free if she simply wanted.

But she was ok for now, rather liking the gruff captain and the old mysterious man. And that prisoner, Cale, that she had helped while being a prisoner herself. Her feathers were a little flustered just at the thought of him again.

"I know that it is but your first day here and you must be tired but was wondering if you check my wounds."

Her head snapped up from concentrating on some odd looking thing stuck to the top of the counter, she had no idea what it was but it was coming off with the cleaner, to look at the man she had saved. "I... O-of course," she said straightening up, her wings still poofy. She wandered about the room gathering a few things to help him clean up and get stitched up.

"I am sorry to sound so stupid but I just wanted to see you alone and thank you for helping me Ianthe. I know that I would not have survived without you and that I owe you my life."

She blushed as she took his elbow in her hands, it was firm but gentle as she moved her fingers down to make sure nothing was broken, she stopped as she held his hand. Ianthe opened her mouth to reassure him that he would have been fine when she heard another voice.

"So you're the new medic, I supose you'll be needing a room to then."

"Oh... Yes I suppose that would be one thing on my list of things needed..." The Kylari said with a smile. "I could just have a bed set up in here if there are no extra rooms," she offered trying to be flexible for them, but still holding Cale's hand.

Genifur

IC: "Yes well I have to do the same with your friend there." I looked at them holding hands. "Will you two be sharing a room."

"Yes well I have to do the same with your friend there. Will you two be sharing a room."

Ianthe's eyebrows promptly disappeared into her hair, it was obvious that she was just a little surprised with that question. She couldn't help but stay shocked, her face going a brilliant red at the suggestion of such a thing. But then she realized where the other may have gotten the incline to ask such a thing.

The kylari let go of his hand, not rudely but definitely suddenly.

"I am... not quite sure what to think of that..." She said immediately bustling about the room trying to occupy her thoughts with cleaning and not with what really had just rushed through her mind.

"I mean... It's not a bad idea," Ianthe admitted returning to clean out a rather large scratch on Cale's arm. "But I wouldn't know if he would want a roommate... much less me as a roommate," she said laughing at the thought of him wanting to share a room with her.

And she was going to keep the bed out of it... she had to.

IC: "Well understand it is not like you have to choose between sharing a room and taking the quarters of the last medic. We have other rooms and at the moment aren't limited on space. That is the advantage of being an officer, no hot bunking. I just assumed it may be more comfortable for you two. Are you married?"

Cale looked at first Ianthe then at Gennifur. He had not expected a question such as this and it showed on his face. All that he had expected when he got on this ship was a sense of freedom, the same sense of freedom that he had lost but he truly did not expect anything like this. He turned to look at the avian medic and was glad that he could not blush as he would be at this point in time.

He knew that he would want to share a room with her, only because he would be with the person that had saved him but he wanted her to be by herself if only for a little while. He turned to look at Ianthe.

"I would like to have a room mate such as you Ianthe but only if you want to share the same area with some raiders."

He winced when she started to clean the scratch on his arm again.

Ianthe was trying to concentrate on cleaning out the wound because that made sense to her. It occupied her mind and made her settle down. But then the man spoke up and her knees suddenly went terribly weak. She stared up at his statement of wanting to room with her.

She smiled even though he seemed to be in a mild pain. Of course she wouldn't mind...

And then...

"Well understand it is not like you have to choose between sharing a room and taking the quarters of the last medic. We have other rooms and at the moment aren't limited on space. That is the advantage of being an officer, no hot bunking. I just assumed it may be more comfortable for you two. Are you married?"

"What?" She said gasping. Unfortunately her, otherwise skilled, hands gripped Cale's arm tightly and she was a good deal more forceful with her movement as she was placing some antibiotics in the wound.

"Oh great Hagryphus!" She exclaimed when she realised what she had done to the man she had been so profficient in saving earlier. "Are you alright?"
