I am not much help here with such an epic life altering decisions such as this, but I am suddenly curious about what ever happened to the No 1 pencil... I mean we never really hear about it anymore, you know?

I would stick with the reliable one. I am unsure that the stress involved in changing pencils would be worth it and who knows you might even need to take classes to become proficient in the use of a 2 1/8 pencil. Also think about the feelings of the No. 2 pencil.

Me too. It's like the silent film stars. Shunted aside, displaced by staggering new technology. Who doesn't remember where they were when their "friend" first showed them their enviable 2 1/8 pencil????

Thanks. Everything can be best decided by a cost/benefit analysis. This morning I spent 40 minutes making a chart, trying to decide between Special K and Basic 4. In the end, I feel I made the best decision for ME, based on the pros and cons. And yeah, the No. 2 pencil. Fuck. We've shared a lot. I don't wanna just toss that aside, like a slender wooden office supply. Hell no.

Well, it can't take me to fucking Target, evidently. I went outside and stared at it. Then I tripped and tumbled into the bushes. I wasn't really knocked out, per se, so I guess it wasn't "dreaming," but I was pissed, and I tried to be "unconscious." Then I wished really hard that the pencil would transport me to Target, so I could buy a green pocket T-shirt, cause I like those a lot. Guess what? Nothing. Zip. Joyce A.
