NYWings I do appreciate the input. However, the actual repair is not important any more.
It the way it was handled. I will pound the door out myself to were it will open and close ok. The van came into my shop with a blown engine. The body was exceptionally clean with no rust at all. I was in the process of getting ready yo retire. I thought it would be a nice little vehicle to knock about and go fish'n with. It has a pull out bed in the back that would allow me to spend the night right there. I installed a reman 4.3 target master in the van. It now has 18,000 miles on the motor. Three months after putting in the engine the torque converter in the transmission let go sending bits of metal through out the transmission. I pushed the tranmission out. Flushed all the metal chips out replaced the steels, clutches, and a new torque converter. Recently replaced all four tires and all receipt to prove it. None of this matters. The fact that it is an explore conversion van doesn't matter.
The gal that hit my van has had NUMEROUS accidents. She really doesn't care because her van is a company vehicle. The insurance for her van is simple written off to company expenses. She had backed up into another vehicle less than two month before hitting mine. Her van has black limo tinted glass all around. In the dark I am surprised that she could see anything. That is why you physically get out of the van walk behind it to see what is in back of you. Initially she want to pay for the repair out of pocket and not inform her insurance company. I got three estimates. She wanted to give me her $200.00 deductible and call it even. When she heard what the cost of repair she decided to go through the insurance co. Her comment is that I should buy a new car.
The body shop I want to do the work is excellent. They have a waiting list to get work done. The stripe kit is available at the cost of $385.00 but only as an entire kit. The adjuster found a door stripe kit available for the model SLE which by the way doesn't match the rest of my van at all for a $150.00. That is the stripe kit he wrote in the quote. When you replace just the stripes on the door the rest of the striping is going to stand out like a sore thumb. I would be even willing to replace the rest of the striping myself from the entire kit so the accident isn't obvious. But it wasn't his vehicle he didn't care. I offered to give the adjuster copies of the three body estimates along with receipts for all the repairs to the adjuster and he didn't want them.
Here's just a thought! Why not pass a law that should a driver be charged with three or more consecutive accidents in a 6 month period that they use the right to operate a motor vehicle for a year? It may get some of these bad drivers to reach up and pull their head out of there ass. However, the insurance companies would not be able to charge the high risk premiums...
But I'll bet they would still be trying the damnedest to fuck the American public. After all that's the American way...

Two of which I am very familiar with and I would let the paint a tricycle for me. Like I said it's a very big scam and I think someone needs to shake it up a little and draw attention to the fleecing of Americans. Because this is the way it's done doesn't make it right!
Like I said I am currently looking for a pre computerized fix'r up'r and will restore it. Gotta figure out what I want to play with.

Pop up time is 60 seconds. Other sites were selling it for around $350.00. So I was a happy boy yesterday.
