Hi from the great white north... Hard to believe
i still have a foot of snow in my front yard.
Finally got rid of the ice in the driveway and it was sunny today! Decided to fire up the Springer and boy was
I was in for a surprise... The terminal for the positive side of my battery tender was cracked and disconnected. So all this time I think my battery is fully charged on the battery tender it was not charging at all.
I hope I caught it in time cause those Jell cell batteries are very expensive to replace.
The good news is after only 1/2 hour the regular charged had the battery down to just a trickle charge pulling less than 3 amps. Hit the button and sweet music to my ears as she fired instantly and purred like a kitten...
Well now to go replace that wire adapter for the battery tender.

Good evening, girls and boy...
Thursday is down and one more day before the weekend...
The weather guesser's have storm warnings up for New England for tonight and tomorrow. We're getting something but I don't think anyone knows what the hell we're get. Their babbling about 1 to 2 inches of snow. GOD NO MORE SNOW... I have just gotten rid of are snow last week. So no more snow.
NYWings at least your battery news wasn't to bad. A buddy of mine stores is bike in an unheated garage. Somehow his battery tender positive terminal clip got knocked off. The battery froze and cracked. The battery acid leaked all over chrome work and stained the finish. I put the battery in my GoldWing about three weeks ago. Low and behold she fired right up. I have been sneaking over to my storage unit and running the bike. It's been nasty weather on my days off but I get to cut the edge off my two wheel'n needs by at least running it. Hopefully we will catch a break in the weather soon.
Sassy great seeing you again girl. Ya, I have been hitting this chili competition pretty hard. Gett'n excited about it. Hopefully the weather will break for your to soon sweetie. I think all of us are waiting for that one NICE day.
Now Dinny 70 degrees...? Are you trying to rub it in... That was cruel bro.... Seriously dude I do hope you were able to get some 2 wheel'n time. I will be happy if it hits 60 degrees my ass will be out there.
Going to go look at a truck this weekend. I might be buying a 1971 Ford F 100 model Custom 4x4 w/ a 8 foot bed. Took a brief look at it but the owner wasn't home. The bed floor has rust (holes in it) and the interior definitely needs major attention. I didn't see any indications that there has ever been a plow mounted on it. I was amazed the exterior body is super straight and no major rust. The chrome looks good. I haven't heard it run. I would finish the bed and interior. Then sand out a couple of scratches and have it repainted. It has Warner locking front hubs. He has down that he wants $1000.00 or BO. If it runs good I may give him $500.00. The economy is pretty shitty around here and not much is selling. I'll then dump the van on the market. All the parts from what I can see are all there. To anyone that has ever restored a vehicle knows that's important. Looks like it may just need some TLC... Let you know the out come.

Announcing the first Biker’s Run cook out of the 2008 season…
The crazy bastard's at it again…
For many of us it the start of the 2008 riding season. I like to thank those of you that have stayed with Biker’s Run. Over the many years with Literotica I have enjoyed putting on cook outs for my friends. I find it interesting in getting the chance to meet the people I have shared online friendships. I will say for most part I have met some truly incredible people.
Who is eligible…? Pretty much all of you… I have found that giving these cook outs themes make them more interesting. So this cook out the theme will be “Road House BBQ”. The date for are first cook out is May 24th. This is after the May 3rd New England Regional Chili Cook Off. I am posting this early to give everyone the chance to clear their calendars. Those planning to attend please PM me. I love to be challenged cooking wise so if you want to throw done the gauntlet I’m ready… I will post and additions the below menu. Your name will be posted next to your entry providing you with credit. As people sign up to attend your name will be added to the brave heart list…

this entry. I was requested to offer it again at are next are next

. My very own Tex / Mex tequila homemade BBQ sauce.
. Hamburgers, cheeseburgers, and hot dogs.
. My famous German potato salad.
. My California (mayo less) cole slaw.
. A new addition finger food entry deep fried cheese balls.
. From my NERCCO challenge Biker’s Run people’s choice road house chili.
. Plenty of ice cold soda.
. This is a BYOB affair.
I will provide:
Kaiser rolls (for the pulled pork sandwiches), hamburger rolls, hot dog rolls, sliced tomatoes, sliced onions, sliced American cheese, creamy un salted butter, my own refrigerated garlic dill pickles, salt, pepper, ketchup, mayo, mustard, sauerkraut, plastic eating utensils, paper plates, napkins, and plastic glasses.
You provide:
A hearty appetite (no one has ever left my table hungry), love, and laughter.

I feel for your buddy who got the acid bath. The thought of that acid eating away at paint and chrome is a horrible thought..

Good morning, girls and boys...
Woohoo the weekend is here... It's a sunny, cold, windy morning here in the small town of Woodbury, CT. The good news yesterday is that we didn't see a single snow flake. Just rain most of the night and day.
NYWings, dude I am really sorry for you.... From what I understand it looks like this last storm may have been the turning point as far as winter activity is concerned. As the temperatures rise over the next couple of weeks that snow / ice pack will disappear. We are all getting a bit ANSI...
Today I am planning to get out into the yard and start raking up the debris for the winter. I feel safe that I can put away the snow blower and bring up the lawn mower. If I can get enough warm weather toys up winter will get disgusted and just leave.
The truck is still there. I am going to try and catch the guy at his home this morning. That will give me a restored bike and a restored truck. Nether of my vehicles will be computerized which simply means I can work on them. Are local GM dealer gets 99.00 hr. to diagnosis a problem... I am not about to go out and buy all that shit just to work on my vehicles. I am a strong believe in the K. I. S. S. method to auto repairs. KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPIDY... It needs work but then again so did my bike...
OK everyone as you may have noticed I have posted the menu to are first 2008 season. By may 24th the weather will be warm. I have probably thrown some 15 to 18 of the cook outs and everyone has had a great time. It will be a day of relaxation, laughter, good food, and good times. Clear a spot on your calendar and get back to me...

Good morning biker dudes and ladies! It is a beautiful, chilly morning here in Ohio...so nice to see the sun again. We've had several days of rain so hopefully will dry up a bit.
Jaded, just wanted to let ya know that I will not be able to attend the BBQ. My neice graduates from college this spring and that is the day of her party. She has put in 5 long years to become a pharmacist and I am so proud of her. Gotta be there. Will be with you all in spirit tho.
If it warms up enough today, I think I will spend a little time in the garage and clean up the Piglet. Needs a little dusting and polishing from the winter sleep. Hopefully I will be able to ride this year. I injured my left foot...of course... at work this winter, started physical therapy on it yesterday. So hopefully will get it strengthened up for shifting. I had torn a tendon on it and had surgery 4 years ago, so when it snapped on me, I thought I had torn something again. The MRI was inconclusive as I have metal pins in my foot already and it distorted the image. So we are hoping that all I need is therapy.

Price of Bikes...
Parrish...I'm sure that bikes cost a lot in most of Scandinavia since some countries have import taxes as high as 100 percent, and you probably have less of riding season than we have in the Rocky Mountains. It doesn't seem to stop a lot of folks in Europe from buying new and used Harleys, Triumphs, BSAs, BMWs, Motoguzzis and a variety of Japanese manufacturers offerings. With the way city streets are over there, I would think a bike would be a reasonable alternative to trying to use a car... especially with the price of petrol (that's gas to us Americans). Have you thought about looking at a used one? Don't know about the licensing over there, though I know they make you jump through hoops to get licensed to drive anything. There are bike clubs... not your usual gang types... all over the continent that support riders and organize tours, and you may even get a ride to get a taste of what its all about.

I am rebelling and have the Weber charcoal grill out and have plans on making some Cajun blackened chicken breasts out on the grille this evening...
Sassy I am so sorry to hear about your foot. Not sure why but this 2008 has been problems for a lot of people. The year 2008 just seems to be unlucky so far. Well, after polish'n piglet up fire her up... The weather here is only finally starting to break. Being able to at least start my girl up every now and then has helped me with my sanity. Sorry, you can't make the 1st 2008 cook out. We will have more this season. I want to shoot for at least 3 this year. Everyone has such a great time. Your still are girl and always welcome on Biker's Run. Want to wish you a speedy recovery on the foot...
Dinny some very smart advice. However, thinking back to went I lived in Europe for a while I don't remember seeing many motorcycles myself. Lot of motor scooters but not many bikes. But shit that was a billion years ago. Not sure if you remember Whispers here on the thread. She started her 2 wheel experience on a scooter to get around. We all need to get started 2 wheel'n in some manner or another. It's about getting your feet wet... Oh, by the way I picked up a Tom Tom model 1 GPS unit it for my bike. I have to order the mounting bracket for the handle bars. I tried it out last week for the very first time and it's better than sex (well, bad sex any way). It is way kewl...! I see it as a fun toy to play with...
Good morning, ParrishP. First let me welcome you to Biker's Run. When your here your always among friends. While your here have fun and enjoy yourself. We are a very big (dysfunctional) family. I may have started this thread but in reality it belongs to all that post here. The theme of Biker's Run is that it's not really what you ride. But, that you get the chance to ride. We try to help others and promote motorcycle safety. We will banter back and forth about what brand is best... But truly its about sharing are hobby with others. What surprises me is that it cost a lot to get a motorcycle license...! I would think the country would be interested in promoting motorcycles in ways to reduce traffic congestion and reduce fuel consumption... Now I am sure if ya lived around here someone would only be to happy to have you on the back of the bike (back rest) to expose you to the 2 wheel'n world. Not sure if that came out right...

The prices on Tom Toms is down...
and it makes it a real nice buy. Unfortunately, I bought a Cobra 1000 GPS a couple years ago before the Tom Tom came out... reasonably unfriendly, not a lot of memory even using the mini SD card that comes with it, and the interface with the laptop doesn't seem to work at all. Have fun....

Hazey, It was a crazy day for sure! Warm and sunny one minute .Cool the next with rain... now We have thunder showers with driving rain and strong wind!

Well, Hazeny and NYWings I hear you both on this crazy ass weather. But... Tomorrow it is supposed to hit the mid 50's and sunny. Tomorrow my day should end around noon. I may try to get some 2 wheel'n in tomorrow afternoon. Even if it's only a short trip it means getting my girl out. I am really in need of a fix. I don't like cold weather ride'n. But I need that rush of twist'n the grip...
This weekend it's Doc's spring open house April 5th - 9 am to 5 pm / April 6th - 10 am to 2 pm. Then Sunday, April 6th it's Rider's Spring Bash - 2 pm till? It's Food - Music - Drink and a good time for all ! Tickets - $5.00 at the door OR get your tickets free by attending Doc's open house.

Woooohooooooooooooooooooooo.....
Very good evening, girls and boys....
I did it... I got out of work today at 12:30 PM and went over to my storage unit where I keep my girl... OK I was only out for a couple of hours before the wind started to come up and the temperatures drop but at least got a couple of hours. I printed out some poster advertising the chili cook off and used the time to go around asking people to display them. I wanted to make sure I made it out to Doc's because of their event this weekend. Figure with the event I could get plenty of exposure. I got about twelve places to display the poster... It felt great getting back up on 2 wheels. Now I have to get rid of my winter legs... Early today it wasn't bad at all. Hard to believe we're scheduled for possible snow and sleet tonight...! However, it's supposed to turn to rain for tomorrow.
Keep the fate gang. The warm weather is coming...

Weather in the Rockies has been...
Schizophrenic at best... every other day it snows, then it's sixty degrees the next day. So if you don't mind the ice and the sand it's good riding three and half days a week right now.
Jade, our local bike shop is Bob's in Louisville. His open house is May 3rd, which is a little more appropriate to our elevation... it can still snow in April up here. He's gotten kinda wierd about it the last couple of years. Used to be more bikers than musicians. Now, its become more musicians than bikers, but I think that's due to the fact that after the two or three bands play their sets, its a free for all open mic with all the acts mixing up with whatever they want to play from Buck Owens to Led Zeppelin. A goodly time is alway had by all.

Last night I slept like a baby... All was well with the world...
Hey, bro! Doc's is still a biker event. Saturday and Sunday up until 2 PM will basically display new toys and equipment. Doc has jumped to building custom bikes (low end) and will be introducing new design. Most of the stuff is for Harley's. They are great people and good friends. The entertainment are local bands. The food nothing special. However, the biker chic's are super hot in their short t sheets and painted on jeans... I am hoping to make it. However this weekend is a busy one.
No snow/sleet last night which did not break my heart. It's going to be a rainy day which is better than snow.
Another reminder about the chili cook off on May 3rd and Biker's Run first cook out on May 24th (menu and info found on page 111).

Good morning, everyone...
This is the third day in a row of overcast cold mornings. It's 34 degrees and it still looks like it gonna rain any minute. Can't remember the last weekend it didn't rain of snow or both... Christ the weather guesser's already have next week penciled in as a wash out... Good ol'e New England.
The tomato and pepper plants I started last month from seeds are doing great under the grow light. The end of the week I will plant the next generation of beefsteak and brandywine tomato seeds. It's an experiment to see if I can spread the growing season out more rather than being clobbered by tomatoes all at once like last year.
Can you tell that I am bored as hell with all this bad weather...
Dinny I thought premium was high around here at $3.72 a gallon (got gas Saturday) but you blew my away at $4.00 a gallon. The had some gas station owner out in the mid west gouging people $5.00+ a gallon cause he was the only station within the next 50 miles. Expecting to read about him being found with his throat slit and his tanks empty.

I can't believe how nice today turned out... I am hoping that others are having this same nice weather.
I think I may have found someone to help at the chili cook off booth. I was getting a little nervous that I was going to have to cook and man the booth by myself.

Throat slit? Not good enough for him... they ought to do to him what they did to the dirt farmers in Lonesome Dove... shoot 'em, then burn 'em, then hang 'em... I would add skin 'em, but I've always been an extremist.
Nice today, snow tomorrow... things are looking up for the weekend though. I can hardly wait for May to get here so I can hit the road, man.
