Good morning, girls and boys...

Well, Dinny I seem to expect the price of premium will be $4.00 a gallon plus when summer hits around here. Being semi retired I made sure that where I worked was close to were I live. It's a half a mile to work and in the nice weather I just walk it. Good exercise any way. Today it's supposed to get up to 70 degrees and sunny. So of course I am scheduled to work. This weekend when I am off it's supposed to rain. This is either the 6th or 7th weekend it rained. I can't win...

Before I retired I worked at a commercial truck dealership. In the front of the dealership was a gas station. My boss only changed the gas prices before 5 am. His logic was that there was less light that early in the morning. So there would be less available light to get a clear shot at him when he was in the bucket truck physically changing the price on the sign out front... I told him that I had thought about it. But, 5 am is to early to get up to take his sorry ass out...

My sources which are pretty reliable have told me that the price of a drum of oil has to hit $130.00 a drum before it will level off. I can't believe the number of small scooters that are showing up on the roads due to the price of fuel now days...

Still another reminder about are 1st BBQ of the 2008 riding season....

The crazy bastard's at it again…

For many of us it the start of the 2008 riding season. I like to thank those of you that have stayed with Biker’s Run. Over the many years with Literotica I have enjoyed putting on cook outs for my friends. I find it interesting in getting the chance to meet the people I have shared online friendships. I will say for most part I have met some truly incredible people.

Who is eligible…? Pretty much all of you… I have found that giving these cook outs themes make them more interesting. So this cook out the theme will be “Road House BBQ”. The date for are first cook out is May 24th. This is after the May 3rd New England Regional Chili Cook Off. I am posting this early to give everyone the chance to clear their calendars. Those planning to attend please PM me. I love to be challenged cooking wise so if you want to throw done the gauntlet I’m ready… I will post and additions the below menu. Your name will be posted next to your entry providing you with credit. As people sign up to attend your name will be added to the brave heart list…

. Southern pulled pork BBQ sandwiches (many people weren’t
table to attend the last cook out but showed a lot of interest in
this entry. I was requested to offer it again at are next are next
BBQ so here you go!).

. My very own Tex / Mex tequila homemade BBQ sauce.

. Hamburgers, cheeseburgers, and hot dogs.

. My famous German potato salad.

. My California (mayo less) cole slaw.

. A new addition finger food entry deep fried cheese balls.

. From my NERCCO challenge Biker’s Run people’s choice road house chili.

. Plenty of ice cold soda.

. This is a BYOB affair.

I will provide:

Kaiser rolls (for the pulled pork sandwiches), hamburger rolls, hot dog rolls, sliced tomatoes, sliced onions, sliced American cheese, creamy un salted butter, my own refrigerated garlic dill pickles, salt, pepper, ketchup, mayo, mustard, sauerkraut, plastic eating utensils, paper plates, napkins, and plastic glasses.

You provide:

A hearty appetite (no one has ever left my table hungry), love, and laughter.

I will be updating information to are 1st BBQ for the 2008 reason as we go along. This is you opportunity to meet your friends on are thread. It’s about good friends, good food, and great times……

Unfortunately, I will be in transit to the west coast... wish I could be there anyhow, cause my drummer lives in W. Mass. I understand the retirement thing. I've been working my wife over trying to convince her we need to move back to Montana when she retires before this becomes on big foreclosure alley from Ft Collins to Colo Sprgs. Fortunately, between my Civil Service retirement and VA compensation I a totally and completely retired. My last government job was as a Collection Agent for the IRS, so you can see why I would never want to work around people ever again! Never took no shit, still don't. I hope the weather improves for you Jade... today, once again, right on schedule we had two inches of snow, but Sunday's going to be 70 degrees and I'm going to be in the wind for sure.

It's already clouding up for are weekend rain...

Dinny with all this snow you've been getten hope you got you snow tires on... Hear ya on getten the wifey talked into retiring. Two reasons to get into an area you want to be in before the economy gets super bad. Second reason is to get her registered to collect her social security and retirement before everything goes nuts. No one can predict what the future has in store. You need to prepare for what's come'n down the road the best you can. Sorry to hear ya can't make the cook out. They are usually a blast.

Actually I has completely retired for a total of three month. I was so bored I went back to work part time so I wouldn't go crazy. Those few hours a week has helps with inflation. Still want to go to work for myself... However, it's a matter of timing. With the recession it's not the time.

We'll time to get ready for work. Want to wish everyone a speedy Friday and a super great weekend...

Good evening, girls and boys...

What an absolutely incredible day... For a rainy day it became very sunny this afternoon. I had my list of thing to do but opted to get the bike out this afternoon instead.

I did get rid of the garbage this morning and got to staples for paper supplies. Been went over and got the bike out. I brought it over the house and drained what little was left in the gas tank out. Even with the stabilt in the gas it lost some of it's punch. I left just enough to get to the gas station at the end of the block and filled the tank again. It took dam near $20.00 @ $3.83 gallon I dam near shit... Then I took a nice slow scenic ride up to Doc's in Waterbury. Picked up a new oil filter and oil. I had him order me a K&N air filter to squeak out a couple more horse power and better air filtration. On the way back I stopped at Frank's hot dog / hamburger stand. There were bikes all over the place today. Felt good to be out there run'n with the big dogs... I was glad I changed my mind on today's priorities. I'll remove the snow tires on the van on Monday. I still want to change the oil in the van before heading up to the chili cook off.

Only 21 more days left until the chili cook off. I am beginning to question if the gal that said she was willing to help out is going to show... So if anyone wants to help man the booth with me it would be appreciated.

Also yet another reminder about are first cook out for the 2008 season isn't that far off. Let me know if you plan to attend. Dinny sorry ya can't make this one but I will have others this year.

OK time to get a shower in and just relax the rest of the evening. Hope everyone is having a super great weekend...

It's a rainy morning here in Woodbury, CT. I am glad I decided to get the bike out yesterday...

Today it's a great laundry day. Can't do anything outdoorsy so I'll knock off the laundry today. Tomorrow I want to get the snows off the van and I want to change to oil while I'm at it.

Got a call from GutterGoddess last night... She volunteered to drive up from PA to help at the chili contest booth. GG and I are ol'e friends. Good person to have in your corner so some of my stress level is off. Thanks GG...

Good morning, girls and boys...

Summer is here... Just finished up with breakfast and planning to take the bike out for a putt... I have been busy all week long clearing today as a day of rest and relaxation. Just a perfect day to get the head in the wind. To go were ever the wind blows me... My buddy Joey is hounding me to ride to the Wall this year with him. He isn't a Vet and doesn't understand that the Wall scares the hell out of me. I know to many names on that Wall including a very best friend. I really don't want to start re living those memories again... At my age not sure if I could handle it all over again.

Still in the process of collecting every thing up together for the New England Regional Chili Cook Off. My good friend Joey took my order for 26 pound of tri tip beef and I will see that next Friday... I was planning on putting 4 lb. in the freeze for are May 24th cook out. GG thank you cutie for volunteering to help in the booth. I wasn't sure how I was planning to pull the contest off by myself...

Another reminder about the cook out this Memorial Day week end... Those interested in attend please let me know.

Dinny premium is up to $3.78 around here. Christ $4.07 a gallon is outrageous. I am waiting for the people to start burning these greedy stations down. Good luck on your trip man...

It's the oil companies... their the one's making the big profits for their stockholders... the station owners are fighting for their allocations and after the distributors and tax man gets through with them, they are getting pennies on the dollar, just like any other franchise they get theirs in the end.

Looks like it's gonna be another beautiful day today. I went out on the bike yesterday for a while. God that sunshine felt good. Like an idiot I forgot to put on a little sunscreen and got a little sun burnt. But I'll brown in nicely. I want to grab a bite to eat and get outside. I think I am going uncover the patio table and cook outside this evening. Not sure what I'm gonna cook but that is one thing I do well...

Well, dinny that may be so in your area... However, there is a lot of price gouging around here. Around here station owners ride around and check other stations prices to make sure they are around the same price. Around here it's about what ever the traffic will bear. Pricing can vary from town to town as much as 13 cents for the same grade of gas! The politician of this state keep telling the people of this state that they are investigating the matter. In reality the politicians of this state consider the people of this state to be chimneys! How do I know? Cause every time I turn around one of them is blowing smoke up my ass. They are not about to blow the whistle on the folks that make contributions to their endeavors. Pretty much like politicians across this great nation of America. The greed level country is out of control. It seems that only a select few control the masses. Once again I say that the people of this great nation needs to take back this country before it's to late by what ever means necessary. You can't wait for the politicians to change it. They have a super good thing going for themselves. Those not capable of doing become politicians...

Oh Yes... the gas situation is really out of control and nobody will help because that would cut into all the windfall profits!

Why would our politicians help when THEY get all the huge tax benefits from higher prices!

Oh they talk a good game and SAY they are conducting an investigation BUT... thats the first and last you hear from them on the subject!

52,000,000,000.00 BILLION! in NET profits! Why?
At that net profit the cost of crude doesn't matter... this is net profit folks!

And the gouging is so evident...

Example... Stewarts store on a main route in my area had regular at 3.55

Drive less than a mile up the road and another Stewarts store has regular at 3.41!

This is the same gas folks. Pumped out of the same damn truck! For the same company!

The difference is the one with the cheaper price ( 3.41 cheap?) is across from a Cumberland Farms store who has their gas at 3.41!

So you see the only difference is the guy across the street is selling it for less!

Sunoco, Conoco, Hess, Shell, are a few companies that do not use mid eastern crude! And thats where I buy my fuel!

If we could refuse to buy from Mobil, Exxon for a couple months what do you think they would do to generate business?

We can buy gas from any number of gas stations and we have to have gas...BUT we don't need Mobil or Exxon do we!

Yes it would be hard on those independent owners BUT ... They don't care about us when they jack up the pump price!

I can get 94 Ultra from Sunoco and Hess runs great in all my cars and bike...

We can make a difference if we can get everyone on the same page here.

We need to start a war... A gas war!

Sorry folks... I'll climb down from my soap box now ... But this week I put 72.00 into my truck, 84.00 into my car and 15.00 into the bike... That hurts...

I can't believe this incredible weather. It appears we have gone from winter to summer finally. I think I am gonna get the bike out again today for a little while... After the first day of riding I got a bit of a sunburn. Once again forgot the sunblock... But I am starting to brown.

NYWings calm down bro... Your ass is gonna have a heart attack. Everything is getting complete out of hand. Go take a walk in a grocery store. Shit this time last year we were getting 725 piece shipments 3 times a week. Now we're getting maybe 425 to 450 a shipment. Families are finding it difficult to put food on the table. I have old people on fixed incomes living on popcorn because it's still fairly cheap. This country need a major overhaul. It will continue to get worse. We have politicians walk around with blinders on telling us there isn't a recession. These people are in touch with reality! Corporate America is to greedy they could give two shits less about the public. The true America, the people have to take this great nation back. I mean back by what ever the fuck it takes. I'm willing to give my life for the true America. What about you?

Speaking about outrageous prices. Ordered the tri tip beef today from my meat guy for my competition chili. I order 8 lb. at $5.00 a pound. This is gonna be one hell of a good pot of chili... The people's choice I am going to use lean ground beef ground into a coarse grind. That is only $2.00 a pound. I order 16 lb.. I am really getting excited now that it is this close.

I also want to get back out into the yard today. Doing some floral hanging planters to add some color.

Yet still another reminder about are first BBQ of the season. Those interested let me know.

I took my Nitro pill and an asprin so I'm good to go for now.
The ticker still beats mighty fast when I see gas go from 3.41 to 3.59 in one day !
I won't beat a dead horse but let me just say this. I don't buy Mobil, Exxon or Citgo at all... If we could convince america to do the same you would see Mobil/exxon change their tune.
They wouldn't hit their projected profits and the stockholders would cry...

Hit them in the only place it makes a difference... In their pocketbooks! right where they hit us... Only they miss a 1/4 bonus... we have to tell our children we don't have money for food because it cost 100.00 to fill up the car!

Okay... I'm done... I promise folks... (psst... Don't buy Mobil, Exxon or Citgo)

Well the good weather is finally hitting the northeast! Hurray!

I took a short putt to calm down and it works wonders...
Rode up around the Great Sacandada Lake and boy is the water high!

Not many folks on the road so I had a chance to twist the throttle some and enjoy putting it through the turns. One thing about that old Springer front end ...it sure tracks nicely through a turn.

Well I hope to tip a few cold ones with some of you this season...

Good morning, Gang...

I can't believe this incredible weather... With the exception of Friday I have been using my bike to run around town. Friday was beautiful and I was out for a nice ride... The sunburn is now a nice brown. Spent the time that I wasn't on the bike planting flowers to add color to the place, cleaning out the herb garden, and cooking every thing out on the charcoal grille... We are supposed to get up into the high 70's this week. It never fails to amaze me how being back up on two wheels can straighten your head out...

This week is going to be very busy with the chili cook off so close.

Well, I need to get ready for work. Want to wish everybody a super great work week.

Spring is finally here and I'm one week from hitting the road.

I been frettin' this trip for months... cost of gas, my dad's deteriorating health, and especially the last fucking 80 miles of the trip from Reno into Sacramento... you got truckers going into California and gamblers coming out, a potentially explosive combination of road monkeys. Think I'm going to take the scenic route and cut off on Cal 20 at Emigrant Gap and go in through Grass Valley and Marysville. Adds a little over an hour to the trip, but the lack of traffic and the scenery makes it worth it. Regular gas prices are holding steady for the last couple of weeks at $3.35 in the rundown stations... a lot more in the high rent districts. I'll post more when I get back, if I can't from the road.

Good morning, everyone...

It's another absolutely beautiful day here in Connecticut... This is are eleventh day of no rain. Great for riding but not so good for the lawns.

Well, Dinny I am sorry to hear about your Dad getting worse. I guess with age comes wisdom. I myself try to stay off the super slabs as much as possible. The speed limit on the highways in CT was 55 mph. They raised it to 65 mph. But everyone wants to drive 90 mph. Way to much congestion on the roads today for that kinda speed. When I ride I deliberately try to find the roads less traveled. Shit I am not crazy to be up on the highways in my four wheeler now days. People today are fuck'n nuts...

Well, gang the local station near me just hit $4.06 on premium. Yesterday I had to go to Newtown, CT. The Citgo station (full service by the way) was sell premuim for $3.87 a gallon. Guess were I filled up the van last night. There were to stations within a 1/2 mile of that little hole in the wall Citgo station. The Shell station was $4.00 a gallon and the Mobil was $4.02. Gas went up like 15 cents a gallon in just one week. This also forces the cost of everything else to rocket upward. While good jobs are getting to find. We have a fuel oil depot not about 20 miles from me in New Haven. Would not be surprise in the slightest if that bitch doesn't get torched soon. People are really starting to get feed up. Something has to change or this country is going to explode. Nice weather is here. I am close enough to my job that I can walk.

Well, I have to get going. I need to go grocery shopping for the Chili cook off May 3rd. I am pumped and focused. Gonna kick some serious ass....

Those are my feelings exactly, Jade...

I like taking the old US highways across the west nice and slow checking out the scenery and the babes, but if you get out the map, you find that there are very few ways over the Sierra's, I-80 being the only major one in the north... US 50 cuts through S Lake Tahoe, and you might as well be driving through LA at rush hour trying to manuever through it... there's a couple of small state highways on high mountain passes that still have ice into June... there's Cal 120 over Tioga Pass through Yosemite which costs you $20 to go through the park, even if your just passing through, and finally, you have to go all the way south to Cal 58 through Mojave and Bakersfield... that's about 200 miles south to go back 200 miles north of driving on expensive gas. Hell... trucker's out here are doing 95 it's a wonder more people don't get run down, and besides dumb driver's tricks the conditions of the roads out here suck!!! The slow lane has wore as deep as rain gutters on both sides of the lane from chains and heavy equipment from mining and oil rigs, not to mention the usual traffic. I'm pretty sure that high gas prices are part of a conspiracy to keep the American people from driving on the highways so THEY DON"T HAVE TO FIX THEM!!! Riding out here is not a Saturday picnic, and being on the road four days each way (2400+ miles total, given weather) is enough to fry anyone's nerves.

Oh... BTW... Bob's MC shop open house next weekend... just got word... local cop band is playing... the noise ordinance just went out the window and I'm breaking out the loudest amps and guitars I got! A good time will be had by all.

Good evening, girls and boys...

We bit of a strange day today. Started out overcast and the weather guessers were predicting scattered showers for this afternoon. So I left the bike in the garage. I had to go see my buddy to pick up the meat for the chili cook off. By the afternoon the sun came out and it shoot up to the mid sixties. By the time I got home from getting the running around I needed to get done it clouded up again...

On the way home I spotted a tag sale. Out in front of house sat a 2002 Harley Classic for sale. The house was a beautifully restored ol'e salt box. Guess times are getting hard and he has to sell his bike. When raising my kids I had to do that and know that feeling oh way to well. As I walked around the tags sale sadly there sat his helmet and wife's helmet. Right next to the helmets sat a brand new pair of black leather chaps never worn. The price tag was still attached. They were bought a my buddy Doc's. They were a nice heavy duty leather product. The price tag read $199.95. The had a stick'm tag of $50.00 on the original tag. Now I just paid $60.00 to Joey and only had $39.00 on me. I wanted them chaps. They matched my jacket perfectly. I offered the dude $35.00 for them and he took it... Life is fuck'n sweet. So a very boring day became exciting...

I hope everyone else is having a very good weekend. This week I am going to be very busy with the chili contest so I won't get to take the bike out. I am excited about the chili cook off.

Hi Folks, Finally get stuff caught up enough to do some riding and it rains. Thats my luck I guess.

Dinny... Keep safe on your ride. Sounds like your taking the right road no matter which way you go. I hear you about the speed of the cage drivers and truckers. On our way out to Sturgis riding the interstate with 70 as a posted speed we cruised at 85 with people running us over! One ton duallies pulling campers passing us!
Sorry about your dad... I've been there.
I have a mom now who is failing quickly and I need to place her in some type of assisted living. That alone is something that will be a major challenge.
Good luck ... I'm sure you will meet many friends and have lots of tales from the highway for us .

Jaded. Nice score on those chaps! I'm still squeezing into the pair I bought in 1987. Love those things cause there so broken in! But does leather shrink?

Just a reminder about Citgo... The president of that country hates Americans and applauded the 911 disaster. He will fund any goup that will kill Americans and his government has seized oil fields owned by Conoco in his country... I don't care if he sells Citgo Premium for $1.00 again... I won't support someone who wants to kill Americans.

So far Premium is still around 3.87 but soon to be over 4.00 Diesel was at 4.60

Well Looks like a good day to put the old girl up on the jack and spend a day polishing it up.
