Haha, me keeping busy doesn't necessarily keep me outta trouble...sometimes I think I am a "trouble magnet"...lol. Of course there are varying degrees of "trouble".

Of course I will post pix of the trike. Unfortunately, this one is not going to be mine. It is for someone else. But the next one built will be mine. We have been collecting parts for a while for her now, and I can't wait. Don't get me wrong, I love the back seat but I am chomping at the bit to hold the reins myself.

Well, HG... you and Jade got to give me a reason...

to risk my neck going east... man them roads are crowded. So far the farthest east I've been is Austin, TX on the bike... and I-20 was absolutely nuts for the section I drove on it. I-70 through Denver is a death trap for bikers alone... though the Kansas PGR got through okay coming as a group. I-76 can be sucky when the tornadoes bear down on you. I-80 is a coast to coast rut and I-94 is... well... so North Dakota. We've got to figure a run half way between so we both share the fun of America's pot holes together.

Speaking of pot holes, my best riding bud jammed his '08 Street Glide in a manhole two weeks ago... seems the contractor for the city left the cover off after doing some street work and he didn't see it in going home traffic. HD dealer says the bike's okay, but his back is still screwed up. He was able to goose the throttle and get the front wheel over but the back stuck fast and he came to a dead stop... that's gotta hurt!

Don't blame you for not wanting to go East-the place can be a hell-hole of hazards sometimes!! Although there are some real scenic backroads here for the ironhorses to run on!!

Well, Jaded and his stuff, and his "other woman"-the bike- are coming soon, in a couple of weeks, so maybe we can co-ordinate a big run out your way in the next riding season!!!!

Thought about you all when I rode up to Thunder in the Rockies this past weekend. The rally was just slighty better than the one we went to in Rock Springs WY earlier in the summer. No pins or patches, though they had a lot of leftover Sturgis shit, which is kind of tacky... I mean you should go to the rally if you really wear the patch, you know.

The music was good, the bike show was weak, not too many out of town designers present. Bought a new custom gold ring... I always wear gold... Silver's kind of conformist shit, besides it makes my skin break out.

Rode up with friends and came back through Lyons, which is where they have the Planet Bluegrass festival each year... the other big festival here in Colorado besides Telluride. Stopped in the best Biker bar in town for a couple cold ones, then called it a day. Let's plan on something. Maybe we can get some of the other riders to come out. I'm always up for another long run.

Rocky Mountain Ridin' Report

Got a few miles in this weekend, before the weather changed to rain and 45 degrees. BE U TI FULL yesterday though... so good in fact that I got out late and couldn't find my usual crowd of ridin' buddies... they left early. So putted around the foothills till dusk and scooted my ass on home. Got a couple of jams this week... be seein' ya.

... mixed bag in the Rockies... Rain then nice... cold then nice... sometimes the same day. Lots of good music though.

Well we did something right for today! Sunshine and mild temps made for a great ride! Enjoyed a bike show and sway meet in Saratoga and then headed out for a ride up though the Adirondacks to enjoy the leaves changing. The warmth from that engine felt nice as we cruised through the mountains.
Felt so good to be out on two wheels again enjoying the road with friends. Looking up at a puffy white cloud that reminded me a little of a chopper riding on the wind... Ghost riders in the sky... Watching over us to keep the evil road demons from doing harm.
Stopped in a place called the Everglades for a bite. Started with cracked conch and a huge grilled swordfish and eded with some Keylime pie. This place looks like a shack but if you want good BBQ or seafood (Florida style) its the only place to be. Friendly place where the owner/Chef will pull up a chair to chat with you about his specials or our bikes.
It was a great day to ride and I hope some of us got to enjoy it.

Where did everybody go?

The riding in the Rockies is unbelievable, and looks likes it will continue that way into the first week in November... been out twice this week checking the change in colors... there's just enough of a chill in the air to make it comfortable most of the day, though you got to put your leathers on in the evening... the first snow came and went so fast it wasn't even a blip on the weather radar. Hope y'all are well and hunkered down for the winter and the depression, got my pencil cup, apple bag and street corner ready to go... apples for lunch, a pencil to write your congressman and tell him what a pencil-dicked bastard he is for give bankers, insurance companies, stockbrokers, and now car companies your hard earned tax bucks cause they all fucked up... hope they bail me out when I fuck up!!! Nah... shit... they just throw us in prison when we fuck up.

Had a great weekend here in the Adirondacks of NewYork. Past the peak for our leaves but was still a good weekend to ride...and maybe our last in this area. Got our first snow for the season yesterday and most likely more today. Came and went in my area but up on the TugHill area they got hit pretty good.
Yup sad to say I've waxed the girl up and put her up on the jack to get the weight off my tires. She's resting comfortably hoping I'll get to take her out once more before Ol man winter hits.

I hear you about wasting our tax money to. What a slap in all our faces when AIG can go on an executive junket on our money. They claim it was planned before hand??? with what for money if they need to be bailed out?

I'm on a national "no call list" ... why? cause I don't want to be bothered by soliciters trying to sell me crap when I'm trying to eat my supper... BUT it's OKAY for every crooked politician to call me with their ROBO calls !

This riding season was a difficult one. Early on I had a spill that broke my collarbone.
The rebuilt carbs took several weeks to get adjusted to wear I would trust it out of the county.
The ride to work over the Tappanzee bridge everyday really made my old bones bend.

Now the leaves are on the ground and frost has already graced the land.

I only logged 6,700 miles...

After I vote tomorrow, I am loading up some gear and heading West...
I have to r****** my head on and that is the only way I know as to how to do it...

You can feel the season coming to...

its inevitable end. Went for a cruise Sunday up to Carter Lake above Berthoud, CO, a winding piece of road that starts at about 6000 feet and ended up at the biker bar and grill at about 7500. Not a great deal of elevation change, but a lot of mountain roads. Ate watched the Broncos on the big screen-- no comment-- then head back down the mountain. Spent about four hours out, good time was had by all... at least the three of us that went. I'm getting ready to nest for the winter, started building guitars a few weeks ago... they look really great, can't wait till the prototypes done.
