Good morning everyone, a cold morning here in the ol' dominion, down in the lower teens, and the way its bein' told, thats gonna be one of our warmer mornings for the next week or so...
...Hope everyone had a good week, and like you jaded, altho maybe cuttin' a lil' wood, this weekend is gonna be for the super bowl. I have watched Peyton since he played at UT, even went to a few games down there. I am sooo hopin' he finally wins the big one. THomas Jones, the running back for Chicago, was raised/played ball, only 30 miles from me here in the western tip of Va. Also saw him play many games, but still must go with the colts...
...Congrats on becomin' a member of the redback tourers webb, I had to look twice at that one,had it been redneck tourers, I mite have had to join by mail.. .
I have been a memebr of gwrra, but let it lapse several years back, and have never been to a local club, for the biggest reason, there aren't any very close. We do ride with another couple , and a few others at times...
...Was wonderin' what kinda jeep ya have dinny, I had a cj-5, many years back, we use to play in the mountains/mud here, and I know exactly what ya mean, by all sides are muddee...
...Hope everyone has a great weekend, will go out tonite, takin' the misses out for dinner, and probably get some refreshments for super sunday. Am thinkin' shrimp, maybe some KFC chicken, and Jim Beam...whatever the outcome, just hope its a good game...

Good afternoon, everyone...

It has been a busy day for me here in Woodbury. A freak snow storm came through last night and put 4 inches of that lovely white stuff on the ground. Now I will admit it did look nice in the morning light. But I did have to go out and shovel it today... Anything I have to shovel I don't like... Came inside and did the house cleaning. Now I am clear for super bowl Sunday. I decided to to make a healthly pot roast with carrots and potatoes in a slow cooker instead of the chilli. I figured that it was better for me health wise... Still doing the salsa dip and buffallo wings at game time. Got lots of cold ones (beers) in the bottom of the refrigerator.

Well Snake I am going with the Bears this Super Bowl. My Giants traditionally feel on the sword at the end of the season like always lately... Sorry but I am not to crazy about Patton Manning'sattitude. Seems a little to pompus for me. I really haven't followed the Bears this season. But, the ol'e Bears played smash mouth football like the ol'e Giants. The days when my man Lawerence (take no prisoners) Taylor played for the Giants. They would just come out on the field and over power you and beat the hell out of ya. Sorry Snake but tomorrow I want to see some Colt ass kick'n...

Congratulations on the motorcycle club Webbo. Like Snake I don't have any local clubs around here either. A few motorcycle gangs. But I don't need inspiration to find trouble. I do a pretty good job by myself...

I hope everybody is staying warm. It is supposed to be windy and in the low teens tomorrow. Single digits on the thermometer tonight. It is nights like these that I am very happy about owning a California heated water bed. It keeps this big ol'e bear warm and snug.

It's a '97 Wrangler Sport, Snake...

...with 156K miles...about 60/40 on and off road...a lot of that in the deserts of Western Utah and Nevada, central Wyoming and a lot of the most accessible passes in Colorado plus the road trips everywhere West of the Rockies. Two inch lift, 31x10.50/75s, and the engine's the standard 4.0. I've added every electronic gadget I could from the GPS, Sirius Radio, 2 meter ham transceiver, and the ubiquitous CB. She still runs like a top, and I'd still take her as far off road as I can go without a worry...which is funny, because I worry about just about everything else.

It's a sunny but very chilly (6 degrees) Sunday morning here in Woodbury. Did the house cleaning yesterday so today is dedicated to Super Bowl... This will be the last fix I will get of football until the 2007 season starts...

Todays menu is pot roast for dinner. Game time there will be plenty of spicey buffalo chicken and spicey salsa dip. GO BEARS...

The jeep sounds like a fun 4 wheeler Dinny. I built a on/off road'r out out a Toyota 4x4 pick up. The original engine was a 22RE for cylinder. It had a factory defect and died at 33,000 mile. Toyota want $2,200 just for a four cylinder short block... I had a 350 cu.in. LT1 four bolt bottom end corvette motor in the garage... It had 202 fuelie heads with pinned dual valve springs and 427 cu. in. studs. Z28 chevy pink connecting rods. Jahns flat top pistons (10 to 1 compression rating). Crane 8,000 r.p.m. roller camshaft. Gear drive instead of timing chain. Edelbrook victor jr four barrel high performance manifold. Holley double pumper high performance four barrel carb. Complete with a high volume oil pump. I tucked the fiberglass muffler dual exhaust up in the frame so it wouldn't get caught off road. The trans was a built up T350 with a hurst racket shifter. The transfer case was a chain unit from a blazer. Actually the entire drive train came out of a full size blazer. The only thing Toyota was the front and rear (4:11) differentials. Had a set of monster mudders on it for off road... Took that puppy from the factory 90 h.p. Toyota motor to a 425 h.p. chevy power plant. Didn't have to down shift anymore when climb hills... I got tired of it and sold it. I don't think I would be able to keep it in gas with it's 6 to 8 mile per gallon gas mileage at todays prices.. I surprised a lot of mustangs and cameros with that little pick up...

It's still over the 100 degree mark here and climbing, finally finished watching the 3rd season of tour of duty, and the last episode left me flat, Purcel, Ruise and Johnson went back to the world but couldn't really get it together but the Sarge, LT and Taylor were still in the 'Nam and no news on them....bit of a let down really....still it was the same for my Dad too.

but back to the topic.....the bike passed it's 1000km and had it's service done, Roz needs to get some time in the saddle before I completely take over the bike lol.

Well the day is finally over. It was windy as hell all day. They say the temperature is supposed to drop to zero tonight with a wind chill factor to 20 below 0. My sweet ass doesn't have to go out tonight.

However the hard tail would be a little rough on these ol'e bones. Unfortunately I am suffering from PMS (Parked Motorcycles Syndrome) presently. Just way to cold for me to ride. I'm a GoldWing rider.

hmmm it took 2 months to get the first 1000 so with the amount of riding I'm doing now...let's see...oh about another year I reckon

Don't worry mate ...our summer ends this month and you guys should be getting into spring soon, time for riding then while I have to wait for a good non rainy day to get some ride time

chillin' here as well jade, did get to see some warmer weather today, it got into the mid 30's, lol, but still been perty breezy. Talk is it may warm up some o'er the next few days. just in time for another storm to move in.
...Not much else to do on these cold nites, have done the piddlin' in the garage thing, but its gets cold out there perty quick after ya turn the ol' heater off. Feels good in here, with the fire goin', popped some corn, and watched a lil' tv, with the ol' woman, and gr-daughter, she' s gone to sleep, so i came online, lol...(The gr-daughter...)
...Hope tomorrow is better, got the bike on charge, am hopin' to ride, it always seems to make the day better, knowin' I have 2-wheels to ride home, come quittin' time.

Goodmorning, gang...

It's Thursday and my middle of the work week. I have to pick up Saturday this week. One of the guys requested a vacation day.

I wished I would see a thirty degree day Snake! It has been in the single digit or low teens hear. Then you add in the wind and dam its cold. Last Monday with the wind there was moments of white with the snow. The snow doesn't seem to be melting. The wind is just moving it around... The weather quesser's are predicting a change of weather next week. They are saying we have a snow storm or two in are future. Think the ground hog was only teasing us... Looks like my bike will be in storage a bit longer.

...Kinda the same story here, maybe some more weather movin' in the first of the week. We have been perty fortunate, all the snows have missed us, seems they have been splittin', just before they move into Va...just hope our luck holds out.
...Got up to 42 today, but a cold northern wind, kept makin' it feel much colder, like you, I will be glad to see the warm days of spring.
...Guess webb is out ridin', enjoyin' his beautiful weather, soak it up webb, and think of us less fortunate...

Hey Snake I would be very happy to wake up to 42 degrees. I am waking up to 10 degree weather with winds.

My boss and wife gave birth to there first child on Wednesday. He is on vacation this week. He would have to come in and cover for the other worker that requested this Saturday off. I told my boss to stay home and enjoy his vacation with his new daughter. I didn't have any plans this weekend. Used to spend the weekend with my lady. Keeps my mind off of her so I don't mind.

As far as Webbo is concerned. As far as Webbo is concerned it gotta be rough dealing with all that warm weather ALL the time...

OK gang I need to get ready for work. Want to wish one and all a super great day...

Like most of the rest of you,,, the bike is still in the garage. Staying out of the snow/cold.

If we took Webbo's temps and our temps and averaged them together,,,, we'd have about 50 degrees! We could all ride!!!

Classes start in 5 weeks!!! The first 3 are already full!!!

Hey Dinny, Boulder Co? I'm hoping to be in Colorado sometime this year. My brother lives in Littleton, wont be staying there, but probably passing thru. I have to have dinner one night in Denver, as the bike I'm riding was purchased from a genleman there.
