Biker's Run..........................

Good morning, everyone... :)

It has been a long time since I have been on. So far this this year it has been a little crazy. We have been so incredibley busy at work with the holidays I had been working none stop. That slight cold I had back in December went into bronchitis and my PC crashed...:( So far I don't like the beginning of this year!

I do hope enjoyed the holidays. I see we have some new people on are little thread. Welcome aboard celebdrive, wildrozes, and windesire. Please enjoy your stay, have fun, and feel at home. When you are here yor always among friends.

I am going to agree with windesire. Although my GoldWing has a full fairing riding in 27 degree weather into 45 mph wind gusts would not be my idea of having a fun day. We still haven't seen much in the way of snow yet and the weather guesser's in this area are saying we are going to be in the high 30's next week... I understand that New England is quickly becoming the new winter vacation spot to get away from the cold now days. Come and enjoy are sunny beaches and warmer temperatures... ;)

Gonna run for now. Have to go grocery shopping. With the cold windy day figured it would be a great day to start a large pot of marinara sauce.

Want to wish every body a super great day. Stay warm... :D

Rider's up and ride safe... :)

...Good to see ya back jaded....

....damn, welcome back jaded...been wonderin' what happened to ya...Glad to see ya made it back form computer/cold induced hell........lol...(thought it sounded good... ;)...)Am sure its been a booger, workin' all that time, but think of all the money ya are makin'....how 'bout floatin' a man a loan...
....I just got back from a 70 mile ride, cold, but was after antifreeze, am home now, and into it, and it is good...lol..altho ridin' in cold weather, tends to bring the term "shrinkage", to new levels..
....Sold off some calves this mornin', was cold, and the ground was froze, but didn't take long gettin' 'em loaded, and on their way to market...May get some winter precip. later tonite, or tomorrow, ya know how the weather folks are.....sometimes i don't think they can predict the weather, any better then I can..
....Hope everyone has a great evenin'...and tomorrow is even better...

G'Day all

Cleaned the bike up last night and took it for a burl...passed the 1000 km mark...so I guess it ain't new any more lol.
On the home front Roz passed her course so now she just needs to sit the test then I guess I lose the wheels for a while (at least untill I get my own).

Hope you all get the chance for a ride real soon.

...Tell the mrs. congrats webbo, and good luck with the road test...I know ya are gonna hate givin' up the ride, but look at the brite side, just means ya are gonna have to go ahead and get yours...now... ;) ...
...I know how nervous I was, and still am, when the ol' woman is out ridin'...but she likes it, and I also know how much fun it is, soooooo, we just have to hope they are as careful, as one needs to be..
.....Take care, and ride safe....will be waiting to hear 'bout your new ride webbo...

....Ride safe, but ride....

It has now been eight weeks...

And today was the first day it got up to 50 degrees...I've got six inches of ice in the driveway and four in the street. But I'm stuck stroking the bike up waiting to break out of here and hit some warmer clims...just can't figure out where the hell that might be right now...my father lives just south of San Francisco and its been 22 there recently... not a whole hell of a lot of good riding anywhere in the west right now.

Good evening, Gang... :)

Well snake bless ya you most have brass balls. I am definitely not a cold weather rider. I still like a warm breeze in my face and riding with only a tee shirt. Today we made it to 40 degrees. Tomorrow we are only supposed to see the low 20's and Friday high is only supposed to be 14 degrees.. My Goldwing is put up for the winter and there it will stay until warm weather reappears... :D

Webbo1 look at it this way you really didn't loose a bike, you found a riding partner. Wish Roz sucess on her test. Have ya decided on your next bike yet?

Dinny what's goin on brother. This year the west and south is getting all the snow and ice. The weather here in New England has been wierd. One day we're seeing 50 nad 60 degree days the next it's single digit days. Wish you warm weather friend... ;)

Rider's up and ride safe... :)

Snake and Jaded

have passed on your congrats to the missus and yeah I am a little aprehensive when she jumps on to ride but I know that she is carefull.....
As for the new Bike I'm tossing up between the new Kawasaki ZX10, the VN1600A or the VN900... they all look pretty cool.

Need to take them on a test squirt to see which one I like the most ;)

Then I just gotta get the moolah together...us diggers don't get paid an awefull lot

Good morning, everyone... :)

Burrr, it's a chilly New England morning. The thermometer is reading 20 degrees. To think that is supposed to be todays high. The temperatures are going to be dropping all day. Well it's not warm enough for me to go for a putt... :(

Webbo good luck on your choice. If the day ever arrives that I am going to buy a new bike I would have no idea what I buy...

Want to wish everyone a super great day. Stay dry, stay warm, and stay upright... :D

Rider's up and ride safe... :)

You know...

I could go for a nice long ride in the Outback right now, Webbo. That would just about cure all my problems.

My husband just bought a 2007 Harley. We love to ride...bit chilly know though. :( Oh well, slap on those leathers and ride! :p

No mate...it ain't summer all year round here ......well maybee up north in the tropics, but where me and Roz is does get down to about 2-3 deg celcius during winter, no snow here tho but about 200km away it does in the high country.
But I'm determined to ride during our winter...even to the depot would be ok.... have a good one guys and Happy Australia Day to you all.

Temps falling, more snow in the forecast...Guatamala's starting to look real good

Back to the VA today to have my semi-annual confirmation I am still an insane Vietnam Veteran. I'd prefer riding the bike to taking the Jeep, though I really think drivers in Colorado are some of the worst in the nation...and with a major investment in my scooter, I prefer the wide open spaces rather than city driving...road rage is the second most contagious disease in this state after influenza. More snow on the way this weekend in the never ending pattern that seems to be dominating this winter... the old-timers say there hasn't been this much snow for so long since the '70s-'80s. Now, being from Montana, I'm used to the cold and snow, and -20+ below temps... but we also don't have 3 million drivers trying to prove how stupid they can be on ice...it's like one of those ice capade shows every frigging morning here. That's my rant.

Good morning, everyone... :)

I hear ya snake it's only January and I already have cabin fever. I miss riding and playing in the yard. The only saving grace is that I get to read in this cold weather... :) Now this is not a compliant but we have not had any significant snow so far this year. The way I look at weather is anything I don't have to shovel I like... :D

Good morning, ima6uld6v. welcome to Biker's run. Here you're always amongst friends. Enjoy your stay. I have never ridden a extended chopper so I can't comment. I have ridden quads, dirt bikes, customs, and my current bike is a full dresser (with loads of chrome). I had to sell my bike while raising my kids. It was just recently that I picked up my Goldwing. You can do it if your determined. Actaully I while be looking for a back rest this summer... ;) Oh and very nice nipple... :nana:

Webbo I am not a cold weather rider. But your country has always facinated me. Time to put that coffee can on the bedroom dresser and start dumping your change into it... ;)

Dinny hang in there my friend. Winter doesn't last for ever, it only feels that way!

Well time for me to get ready for work. Want to wish everyone a super great day. It's only 2 degrees hear in Woodbury, CT. Hope it's warm by you. Stay warm, stay dry, and stay upright. Catch later... :D

Rider's up and ride safe... :)

Howdy everyone. Not riding here either, way too cold and ice/snow on the roads. The bike is never "put away" for the winter, just covered, and inside the garage with the batter tender attached. At a moments notice, it's available. Did get a ride in on New Years and the next week afterwards....but not since.

Have a great day all.

Stay safe.

Just the passenger... for now ;) Never know.... one of these days maybe I'll get my own.

well guys I now have to share the bike with Roz...yes this morning at 10:50 am she passed her licence test :nana: :nana: :nana:

Now to get her some more gear

...hello everyone, and good mornin'...It was also cold here yesterday mornin' jade, altho not into the single digits, but close..I still rode to work...didn't even notice the cold too much, guess I was so happy to finally get to 'motor' back into work...lol
...Congrats to Roz webb, am sure shes tickled, and maybe she'll still let ya ride her bike... ;) ..I remember when my woman wanted her license. I said sure, go ahead, never thinkin' she would....ya could have knocked me over with a feather, the afternoon, she brought 'em in, learners, but a license none the less...She took the msf course a few weeks later, found her a good used bike, and she has been ridin' ever since...Altho not much lately, I keep tellin' her, lets sell it, and ya go back to bein' behind me...thats flies like a lead balloon...
...Way my woman started Iwant, after our first trip to Daytona, and she saw all the women ridin', that seemed to make her mind up. She wanted her license, and her own ride...Hang in there, learn to ride, and settle for nothin' less then your own 'wheels'... :)
...Welcome ima6..Sounds like ya have it all in order, holdin' out for a bike, no matter the age... Heres hopin' ya get it soon, altho be warned, it'll get under your skin/in your blood, in a hurry...
...Hang in there dinny, spring is comin'...each day brings us closer... :)
...I hear ya knightwing, altho I try to keep mine rode enuff, I seldom have to use the charger...but like you, I like havin' it availabe...
...Hope everyone has a great weekend....

....Ride safe, but ride.....

Good morning, everyone.

Well this is a two digit morning... 10 is two digits right...burrrr and to think I'm sitting at the keyboard waiting for the coffee to brew when I could still be sleeping in my California king size heated water bed, what was I thinking...

Well KnightWing, Snake, Dinny, Windesire you can talk it up all ya want about cold weather ride'n but this ol'e boy hates the idea of major cold weather shrinkage. So just not interested... ;) In the cold weather I look for other things to ride or be ridden...! I don't want to have to go out and buy special cold weather clothing! I want to be inside some place warm getting out of the ones I a wearing... Much rather be inside ridden something warm and moist... :nana: Save the bike ridden for warm weather... :D

A big congrat's to Roz. Way to go! I am sure that you'll help your ol'e man Webbo throw some change in that coffee can. Time to get daddy some (2) wheels.

Last year the few times I was able to get down to Corey's (when not scrapping and painting the house) on bike nite I would say probably 10% of the rider's were women. We're not talking 125 cc machines. So ladies keep a come'n. I like mixed group rides.... :D I am planning on getting more riding time in this year. I am even planning on throughing some cook outs for those of us that a close enough to stop by... :) Nothin like good food, good, friends, and good times... :D

Yeah know Snake I was read'n your last post about your lady gett'n her license and finding her a bike. Now bro I have never meet your lady but about the comment about selling her bike and her becoming a back rest again! There is just somethin about that statement. I some how seem to see you hog tied and tossed across the back seat of her bike. Bare ass up in the air so she can walk by and slap it. I can hear her saying "Who's you're Daddy". Hope that mind image didn't excite ya too much......

Well I need to get another cup of Dunkin Donuts coffee in me. Get showed and dressed. Want to wish everyone a super great day, Stay warm, stay dry, and stay upright.

Rider's up and ride safe... :)

Cold weather clothing?

Man, Jade I have a layer of natural insulation!!! I can ride down to 20 degrees as long as I've got my leathers and good set of gloves...that is if the road are dry...which they are not. I saw a picture of a BMW in some bike magazine yesterday on an icy road in the alps... Germans must be desperate for a thrill. Some of the roads over the passes up here you could put on your brakes in Steamboat Springs and slid all the way into Denver with your motor off (100+ miles). And it doesn't look like its going to improve soon...1-4 inches expected today. Mrs. plowed her truck into a snow bank last night and I had to dig it out in the dark...took a fall on black ice and my left side is aching this morning. I really hate this weather.

Well Dinny my natural layer of insulation is still disappearing. I am 6' 2" tall. I have been watching my weight. I have goin from a tight 42 " waist down to a loose 38" waist and still want to loose some more. I have been exercising and building up the chest and arms at the same time. I have lost 40 lbs in about 8 months. I have more energy and do feel better.

It appears that my lady friend and I have parted ways. We seem to be both looking for something different. So I am look'n from a back rest that knows how to take care of a good man... ;) So the packaging has to look good if I want a lady that looks good. I need a good woman to keep this ol'e boy from gett'n to crazy and to keep me out of trouble. I have been known to have a bad temper and have run a muck upon occassion. Getting to old for that shit anymore.

Sorry to hear about your back bro... :(

Rider's up and ride safe... :)
