Biker's Run..........................

Good morning all,

Jaded,,,, I don't really like cold weather riding, but have to endure it if I want to put the two wheels beneath me. A heated vest, full face helmet, and heated hand grips help a ton, as well as hiding behind all that plastic and windshield that a Goldwing has to offer!!! Sorry to hear about your friend leaving you. Never a fun thing. And yes, I would much prefer to ride something inside this time of year.... however, those times are few and far between, being single.

Dinny,,, careful on the ice man. Those kind of spills hurt. Hope the Mrs. and truck aren't damaged from the mishap either.

In the upper 20's here in the Detroit area.... but lots of ice and salt so no riding for awhile anyways.

Have a great day everyone,

Stay safe.

Thanks for the Congrats everyone :rose:

Webbo will still get to have the bike a lot.... I have a few things that I need to practice and make second nature before I will be game to mix with traffic  !!!

Hope the weather inproves over there... and the riding can resume very soon

Roz

Good morning, everyone... :)

Well it's another dreary overcast morning here in the small New England town of Woodbury, CT. We took a slight snow dusting last night but still no accumulation. The weather quesser's are predicting a change in the air currents bring moisture up from the south into are cool New England area. Hence snow when that happens. We couldn't dodge the bullet for ever...:(

Roz I still think is great that you passed... :D Get your practice in. Sounds like Webbo is having a hard time choosing his next bike anyway... :)

Well today is laundry day for me. Want to wish everyone a super great day... :D

Rider's up and ride safe... :)

...Good mornin' everyone, woke up here in the western tip of Va., to 30+ mph winds, temps in the 20's, but the rain'snow didn't make it... :) ...I didn't sleep worth a damn last nite, was figurin' to get called out any time...
...I was babysittin' here yesterday mornin', but did manage a nice lil' ride, after lunch, when 'granny' got in...was sunny, and not too cool, besides, i had a new cd I wanted to listen to... ;)
...You're response 'bout bein' hogtied and thrown over the bike, wasn't off by much jaded, lol..I been fussin' that its just in the way on the carport, but all to no avail...
...Congrats again Roz, get in some good riding/learnin/slow speed manuerving at a big empty parkin' lot...Good luck on the 2-wheels, and help webb get him a new ride soon, so ya all can get out together...Like jade was sayin'...there are more/more women ridin' every year...Just somethin' 'bout a woman straddlin' a 2-wheeler...hmmm...Come to think of it, i always bring back a lot of pics from Daytona just like that...
...Hate to hear 'bout your fall dinny, I know how we don't recover as quick as we did when we were younger, hope nothins' broke/hurt to serious...
...Looks like more lake effect snow comin' your way knightwing....no relief in site it seems...
...hate to hear your "backrest" has moved on jaded, when ya mentioned in another post 'bout gettin' one, I thought you really meant one, lol... I was thinkin',I have my old one hangin' in the garage, lol, but not really what ya are wantin'... ;)
...Hope everyone has a great Sunday...gonna be a cold one here, so will probably stay in perty close to the fire...

...Ride safe, but ride....

Hey, Snake... :)

Well happy to hear that the snow and rain held off... ;) Thanks on the offer of the back rest! However I am look'n for one that is warm, smells really good, doesn't mind wrapping her arms around my (shrinking) waist and leaning up against her man... :D A good woman keeps this ol'e boy centered and out of trouble. In the earlier years I had a problem get'n a little TOO rowdy and restless... Can't do that stuff anymore... ;) Try'n hard to be a good boy!

Well this isn't gonna get the laundry done... :( Last weekend I made a large fresh pot of marinia sauce. I took out one of the sealed bags of sauce for supper tonight. It is going to be spaghetti and home made sauce tonight for me. I need to pick up some Itailan bread. Dam life is sweet... :D

Ride's up and ride safe... :)

....Kinda the same way here jaded, to old anymore to raise hell, and run with the big dogs, so been stayin' in and behavin, for the most part... ;)
...Your supper/dinner sounds good, i was tellin' the ol' woman, as she was leavin' this mornin'...i would like to have spaghetti this afternoon, gonna be cold, and it would be good to warm the body...homemade sauce, slaw, and good french bread...mmmmm...gonna be good...
...have a good one jaded, and everyone else checkin' in...

...Ridin' is not a matter of life/death.....It's MUCH more important....

Glad to hear the wheather's warmin up a little for you all :)

Busted big toe stops me ridin for a little while here (About 3 days Max lol)

Living Near sturgis

Hi. I can relate to all of you. I live near sturgis SD. I ride a 1978 honda cb750K of all things. If you can make to the hills do so. the rides are way more intense if you do the black hills before the ralley when the roads do not have all the traffic.

Good morning, everyone... :)

It's gonna be a chilly day with scattered snow flurrys. We still haven't seen any real accumulation... The weather guesser's are saying we have a possibilities of a snowy North East'r this Friday. I have my shovel ready... ;)

Enjoy your ride today Webbo.

Great to have you on board Laird_Raum. One of the first bikes I owned was a 1976 Honda CB750F. It was a fun sports bike. I did a bit of engine work (modifications) work and could take most 1000 cc Kawaskis to 80 m.p.h. Sturgis ralley has always been a dream of mine. But that's Harley country. I think it would be something that I would enjoy doing if I after building a stretch Harley... :) Please have fun while you on the thread. Here your always welcome and amongst friends.

Well gang time to get my butt into the shower and off to work. Have a super great day. Stay warm, stay dry, and stay upright... :D

Rider's up and ride safe... :D

Howdy all,

Nope no riding for quite some time now....No temps to be above 30, which means no snow melt. Taking the truck and hittinng the road for a few days, visiting a friend.

Hi Laird, I've never been to "Sturgis" and probably wont ever be,,, but I understand the area is a great ride. I would like to ride it sometime, just not sure when.

Have a great day,

Stay safe.

Hey all!! I have a '79 Honda CB750 which I love to ride!! Haven't rode in such a long time because #1, hubby's back can't take much riding anymore, and not a whole lot of people ride in this cold weather!!
Anyway, just wanted to pop in and say hello. Have a wonderful day & ride safe!

Good evening, everyone... :)

Today was a long (9 1/2 hours) day at work. Just finished a meatball grinder I picked up at a little Italian restuarant for super and now relaxing with a cup of coffee... :)

Hey, Iwantmore don't go riding with hubby in temperatures below 40 degrees anymore. Girl what the hell were you thinking... I have tired riding in cold weather on serveral ocassions and still don't like it. Plus my boys don't like coldness AT all. It's called major shrinkage and I can't see how anyone would delibrately want to do that...

KnightWing I hear ya on the no riding. When haven't gotten any major snow here yet but we have been dusted a couple of time. They have spread sand and salt on the roads several time. Many of the turns have either ice of loose sand which two wheeled vehicles don't like. Although I will admit I did go out and checked on my bike. It's that whole bounding thing. Enjoy your trip friend.

Hi, Cyinamorata. Welcome to are little thread. Here you are always among friends and always welcome. Sorry to hear you haven't been up on your bike in a while... :( Actually I just returned to riding again after raise my two kids. Just didn't have time to ride with being both Dad and Mom. My kids are grown now and married. The have familys of there own. So now it's my turn again to have a life. Don't give up on your riding. It was good to see more gals getting involved in biking. In the warmer weather on Wednesday night there is a biker get together at Corey's here in Woodbury, CT. There are a large number of ladys coming in on their own bikes. Always a good sight... :D Hang in there I am sure your ol'e man would mind you going out for girls night out on your bike.

Now this is a long shot because I don't know we're everyone hails from. But this Sunday coming up is Super Bowl Sunday. Now neither team is my team (the New York Giants) but this will be the last football I while get for the season so I have to take what I can get... :( If anyone wants to get together and watch the game let me know. There will be cold beer and munches. The invitation also applys to any lurker's on the thread. If you're lurking on a biker thread ya can't be all bad... ! We bikers don't bite unless ya like that sort thing... ;)

If you can't make it Super Bowl Sunday don't get real upset. I will be throughing a few cookouts this summer to give us the chance to get to meet and share a laugh... :nana:

Have a great evening.

Rider's up and ride safe... :)

...Welcome cyin...Know all to well the 'back' thing, couldn't ride mine much at all, when i first got it, but invested in a back rest, and now a full day in the saddle, is more enjoyable, then cripplin'...Glad to have ya poppin' in, be sure to pop in and say hello often, like jade says, when ya are here, you're among friends...
...Tomorrow is the ol' womans birthday, she's gonna be 40, and i have been rubbin' it in for weeks now...I keep tellin' her, growin' old, sure as hell beats the alternative...lol..... ;)
...Hump day tomorrow, and hope everyone has a great one.... :) ...oh, and jade, like you, we haven't had any significant accumulations of snow, but wonder, just how long we can dodge the biggun......I told 'em at work, I wouldn't care if it never snowed...altho the ol' woman, does like the OT....

....Ride safe, but ride....

No Relief in Boulder

Taking the Jeep to California next week...supposed to snow all the way. Hell, it's snowing outside right now...we're expecting four inches by tomorrow morning. Man, Austrailia is starting to look real good to a retired guy with nothing to do and a bad case of Motorcyclitus, Webbo.
