Webbo hope you haven't been over doing it mate.

It's off to get ready for work for me. Stay war, stay dry, and stay upright... ;)

No mate...Doc took a look at me and said I could ride again....I heal quick......but that if I drop the bike to get some one else to help me lift it

Ain't dropped one yet and I don't plan on doing it now either :D :D :D

Have a good one everyone

Just my f'ing luck. Beautiful day here in NOVA. Started clouding up at 5. Had a 5:30 meeting and it started spitting a bit of rain about time the meeting let out. However, just as I got out of the parking garage it let loose. Thought about waiting but the pharmacy closes at 8 and had to get my meds. So ride away I went. Get wet I did indeed. It was pouring. Finally got home soaked. Parked the bike, ran up and changed into some dry wear, then went to grab a smoke and look out and I will be damned if it aint stopped. Should have camped at the pharmacy or better yet gone up the strip mall and had some food but hindsight is 20/20.

Got word this week my unit went from Alert Status to Mobilization status so I got on the horn to call my man at state recruiting and retention. G1 signed off on it today and I will be out in no time. I was told that G1 trumps stoploss so, although I was willing if it happened to come about, no trip to the sandbox to me brothers and sisters. Some something good DID come of the day even though I got soaked.

As ya said doc...something good did come out of the day....and with news like that what's a little water???

Good News for you Doc!!!

And that's something worth celebrating, now if it could be repeated 135,000 times this crap would be over, and we could get down to the really important stuff like...DAYTONA.

Good morning, everyone... :)

Woohoo it's the weekend... :nana: This has been one of those weeks from hell and I am glad it's over!

I know what ya mean about that rain storm Doc. I was out in it myself most of the day. It was raining so hard even with a rain coat I got soaked. Was soaked and cold most of the day. I am still covering for the guy at work doing my job and his. He will be back in the beginning of April. I am working on a new job with a friend of mine. He needs a good Inventory Parts Control Manager at double what I'm making now. I am thinking very hard about taking it. I did it for ten years so it's a natural for me.

Good to see that the Doc gave you a green light on doing things Webbo. I'm with you my friend I can't stand being idle. Hi, Roz you naughty little minx... ;)

MessingMeds much like KnightWing I don't know of a tire company that makes snow tires for a street bike... I can't imagine how you'd be able to stay stable on the road in a blinding snow storm...

Dinny I am much like you. As a Nam Vet I have never seen anything good come out of war. This asking permission to engage the enemy it crazy. Sorry but if your the enemy and round a corner carrying a weapon it was my personal job to light your ass up. I was in several fire fights and left a high (confirmed) body count. Asking permission my ass! It is inevidiable that we will be fighting terrorist on are soil. Trust me I have absolutely no problem in sending them to meet Allah. Adding one more or ten more the body count isn't gonna make any difference. I still will be able to sleep at night. I was trained by are government to be a killer and I am extremely good at it...! No emotion at all.

Hey Sassy I definity like the new AV. If thats you then your hubby has two really nice thinks to ride....

I am gathering with this rain and snow this last week that Snake has been a very busy man.

Well gang I am off. I need to get some house work done. I have been toying with setting up my fish tanks again. I enjoy sitting back with a cup of coffee and just watching them swimming around. Great way to relax.... :D Saty warm, stay dry, and stay upright.

Good morning, brothers and sisters... :)

The skies are a light grey here in the little town of Woodbury, CT. Yepper we took another 1 inch dusting of snow again last night...:( This winter doesn't seem to want to leave... Yesterday it hit 52 degrees and was beautiful. This morning it's 26 degrees. Oh well not much you can do about the weather. I have a friend dropping by out of New Jersey on the 24th I was hoping that it would be warm enough to bring up the patio table and chairs from the basement. Wanted to cook some nice NY strip steaks on the Webber charcoal grille. Steak just seems to taste better when eaten in the great outdoors... :D

I hope evryone has been enjoying the weekend so far... :nana: I have to do laundry today. I will make some time today to check on the GoldWing. It's all apart of the bonding process. A man has to bond with his bike yah now!

Well it's off to get the first cup of coffee this morning so I can wake up. Catch everybody later. Have a super great day. Stay warm, stay dry, and stay upright... :D

Good morning, everyone... :)

Jumping on to wish everybody a great start to a new week. Hope everyone had a good weekend... ;)

Well it's off to get ready for work. Catch ya all later.

Stay dry, stay warm, and stay up right... :D

Started our week yesterday mate but so far it's been good
Hope every one has a great day

Good morning, gang... :)

Burrrr, it's a super cold morning here in Woodbury, CT for this time of the year...:( I have -1 degree on the thermometer with a wind gusting to 25 miles an hour. I will be outside this morning so today is going to be a bitch. I need spring big time... :D

Want to wish everyone a super great day. Stay warm, stay dry, and stay upright... :)

Good morning, everyone... :)

Wanted to wish everybody a happy hump day... :nana: Oh, I don't mean it in reference to the work week! I hope each and everyone of yah get laid today... :D I know I feel better after getting laid... ;)

Well it's another grey morning here in Woodbury. Yes, it is snowing again...:( At this rate I will be able to get my bike on the road in July...:(

Want to wish everyone a super great day. Stay warm, stay dry, and stay upright... :)

I spent the whole day putting.

Life is good...this week. Got on the bike and rode, came home had lunch, got back on the bike and rode some more. Blue skies... just like the old Allman Brother's song.

Missingmeds, I can't recall what kind of bike you have, I'm thinking it's big cruiser type, if so, I'm not aware of any deep treaded tyre that would fit.

TKC and Metzler both make a road going "knobblies" for big traillies like the BMW GS, Triumph Tiger etc. They would work reasonably well in slush and are actually surprisingly good on dry roads - except they wear out really quickly if you do a lot of dry road miles. 3500 for my last rear !!!

Morning all from a sunny Scotland, about time the Aerostich suit got dragged out for an airing, I think.

Good morning, everyone... :)

Looks like New England is going to be locked in winter's grip for at least a couple of days more. Here in Woodbury I have a reading of 1 degree with tomorrow promising to be 10 degrees cooler...:( The temperature has to get up some sixty degrees for me to ride. Anyone want to ship some heat my way... ;)

Sorry Meds I wasn't able to turn up a real snow/mud type tire for cruiser's either. Just guess you'll have to park the bike and think of other pleasureable things to ride. Hey wait that didn't come out right...

OK gang I have to start to get ready for work. Not that I want to, but I have too... :( I see a mental day off coming up in the near future.

Want to wish a super great day to all. Stay warm, stay dry, and stay upright... :)

Howdy all. Not much new to report except that the weather is supposed to get a bit warmer here for the weekend. Got the covers off the bikes and batteries checked,,, all started just fine. Now just have to get the ice off the roads,,, and a litlle sun warmth.

Saturday I have to get the fleet of training bikes up and running. about 150 of them. Put in the batteries, new plugs and start them. There is about 10 to 15 of us to do it,,, so it will take all day,,, but done right. Next weekend start training!!!!

Glad you were able to get out Dinny! Enjoy!

Take care all,,,, I'll be back.

Stay safe.

Hello Everyone,

...Been kinda busy here in the ol' dominion lately. Spring season, always luv it, but makes for much more work here on the farm. Hate to tell ya jade, but has been beautiful here, 'bout all week, 70's, and local weatherman says, should be even better next week...Been gettin' some fencin' done, gotta get the cows moved to summer pasture. tryin' to get caught up, so like you mentioned jade, wantin' to "burn" a day myself.
...I usually go down to Daytona, would normally be there now, but got a perty good project goin' on here, so figured, sacrafices/priorities must be made...
...Good to hear ya got some saddle time in dinny, I am sooo needin' a good long day of ridin', take off, and not even know where i mite end up.
...Hope you are continuing to heal webb, and gettin' some saddle time in yourself. I ain't no doctor, but I would highly recommend saddle time, on ones trusted 'steed', for perty much anything that ails ya... ;)
...Sounds like you have your Saturday planned already knight. I assume its for the MSF course?...My wife took it several years ago, before she started ridin', and i think it helped her a lot..Good luck with all the hard work ahead of ya...
...Wanted to let everyone know, we went out last weekend, and saw "wild hoggs"....Theatre was sold out, not only for our show, but also the one after us. We enjoyed it, but we always seem to like biker movies...I would recommend it for a nice evenin on the town...
...Anyway, TGIF...and hope everyone has a good one, and the weekend is even better....

...Ride safe, but ride...

Good morning, Snake and KnightWing... :)

Well the sun is shining brightly, however the temperature is only 4 degrees. Now toss in the wind and we have a record chill factory of -10 gives me a outdoor temperature of -6 degrees. God I need heat. The cold is really starting to wear pretty thin.

It sounds like both you guys have your warm weather projects started! I'm still waiting for the ice to melt...:( Hey wasn't that dinny flying by on his bike and snickering at us...

Well gang need to start to get ready for work. Want to wish everyone a super great day. My week end will end tomorrow. I have to work tomorrow...:(

Stay warm, stay dry, and stay upright... :)

Good Morning all,

Yes snake,,, it is the MSF course. I teach all the levels of it. It is demanding, but rewarding. Should be in the forty's for Saturday, so hopefully we can get them all started.

Yes, sounds like Dinny is getting an early jump on the season.... Good for him.

The warmer weather is coming Jaded.... soon.

till next time,,,, stay safe.

Morning All, There are still snowbanks here 10 to 20 feet so it doesn't look like the bike is getting out until mid-April if not longer. What a lousy Winter. I'm soooo ready for Spring! Anyone here go to the Harley Rendezvous in upstate NY? IMO it's one of the best bike parties on the East Coast!

Long Time Biker here

Glad I found this thread on Lit. I am a 54 year old male that has been riding bikes for about 40 years now. I presently own a Suzuki LC 1500. Did not ride much last year but I am now planning this summers rides.

Well the weather looks to be taking a warmer turn here. 62 is the forecasted high tommorrow. Think it is time for a ride!

Had the bike parked since wed when we had a "clipper" come through with a bit of snow for us late in the season. No wonder my sinuses are all f'ed up. Up and down and down and up goes the weather in NOVA.

Oh gee to be back home in Arkansas where they are in the 80's already. But looks like back on the bike to work next week. Highs in the mid 50's and lows ABOVE freezing. That is what I am talking about.

Then to boot have met a new lady friend that likes my ideas of fun both on and off the bike. ;) Been doing some shooting to boot. Check out the webpage www.digexphoto.com. You can also do a search on me and find a few on here as well over in the artists commune area. Times are picking up in the DC Metro for the ol' doc.

Only thing keeping me a bit down is that I am only 99 percent sure no Iraq time for me folks. Personnel said per G1's authority their discharge will override a stoploss order. But you that have been in know until you get it in writing.... thus the 99 percent.

Anyone coming to the wall next weekend? www.gatheringofeagles.org Even if not coming sign the petition in support if you care to do so.

Good evening, everyone... :)

I have to start with my ole friend Doc. Doc I understand and respect your feelings about Iraq. But brother being an ole soldier myself I've lost a lot of friends in Nam and really didn't want to start a new page of friends with Iraq. Now don't go getting a swell head. Ya kinda grow on folks. Besides I am like many. I believe we will be fighting on this soil in the not to distant future. Who knows we may have one anothers back in a fire fight some day... Besides I would be really upset if your new back rest lost ya... ;) Now she doesn't happen to have a old sister does she... Hell I'm not proud. Looking at her I'll even take your throw aways. Remember my back rest skipped town! It's funny how a good woman can change your enter outlook on life. As far as the Wall buddy I can't go there. I know to many names on that wall. Took me a while to get over that war and it would restart memories. I would be honored to sign the petition.

KnightWing I do hope your right. I can handle cold weather but I've had enough. My cabin fever grows stronger with each day. I am bored to death and need to get outside enjoy some warm days.

Hazeny and Intruder52 welcome to Biker's run. When here your always amongst good friends. This thread belongs to all of us. I only started it. We all share keeping it alive and sharing information about up coming events and rides. We don't care what you ride as much as that you ride. If you have any question please ask I can assure we have probably asked that same question. Intruder I got ya bet. I just turned 63 years old. I recently started riding again after raising to beautiful kids by myself. Now both are married and starting a family of their own. Both have great spouses and beautiful kids. Now Dad finally gets to do some of the things he wants to do... :D I ride a Honda GoldWing Interstate. Hazeny I have heard a little about Harley Rendezvous. Where about is it held and when. Is it limited to only the Harley Owners Groug?

OK gang gonna run for the time being. Stay warm, stay dry, and stay upright... :)

Jaded and anyone else interested, the Harley Rendevous is held in central NY about 10 miles South of the Amsterdam exit. It's held on the 4th weekend in June. It's mostly harley's however there are metrics there too and everyone gets along. It's not a HOG event, it's held on a private two hundred acre campground and is self policed. I have never seen any trouble there in the years I have attended. It's neutral territory. The link to the site is www.harleyrendezvous.com The gates open late Thursday and events run all day Friday and Saturday with people heading out early Sunday morning. Bands, rodeos, a swap meet, vendors and too many other things to list go on during the event. The international contest (wet t-shirt contest) is off the wall. It's a real good time. They also have a chat board set-up at the website where people stay in touch throughout the year until the next event.
