Yes, it is isn't it. True, you have to start somewhere, and then you have to get to somewhere, so I mentioned a lot more. :)

So were are you going . The nice thing about a bike is that you never know were you may end up .

I'm thinking, anywhere but here, but thats not possible. It would be nice though, just go and see what happens.

The best vacation I've ever taken was a two week trip, we had a destination, but no strict plans of when to get there. We didn't know what was on the way, and it was an adventure. The destination was no big deal, like we have to get there to do, whatever, it was just some shopping, thats about it, in the U.S.

So, it wasn't like we have to get there, we have to get there to spend time there. It was more like, we'll get there when we do.

I love trips like that my self . Some times we just leave the house and see were we end up . No clocks no timetables . Just see were you endup . I hate vacations were every minute is mapped out for you . You might as well be at work .

It was all about the journey, because the destination was no big deal, just a new place we wanted to shop.

It wasn't until many years later that I appreciated it fully, in the sense that life is like that. Life is both about the journey and the destination. We get stuck on the destination part and forget to enjoy any part of the journey. Its a lesson.

That sounds lovely... you do it for day trips. :)

I do it for dayy trips and for vacations sometimes . We travel with friends sometimes and then we do have to go by the clock sometimes . But other time it might just be from 10 to 2 I'm going to read on the dock ;)

Thats cool. Oh, and you have a doc to read on, how nice. I was reading on my sundeck Friday. My apt is right next to the street, side walks on both sides of the road, lots of dog walkers. I would prefer privacy. It can be unnerving to be anywhere outside and there are always, always other people around. I'm not a city girl. There is no way to be alone with nature.

Excluding the shopping part you are sounding like a Harley add. We must really be rubbing off on you! ;)

"It is not the destination that is important but rather the journey of getting there that matters most."

lol... sometimes I sound like a hallmark card. Sometimes, I'm so direct I upset people because they take me wrong. So now, I"m sounding like a harley ad. :nana:

I like them both though, the journey, and the destination. I just think we are way to focused on destination, and so miss the pleasure, and the adventure, of the journey. I like adventure. :) and of course, pleasure.

Yep you are a biker babe in the making.... ;)

Good morning, everyone.... :)

We are finally getting some of the showers everybody else was getting. God the air quality yesterday was terrible. I wasn't the steam hot but the humidity was brutal. You could actually see a heavy haze. Shit I didn't leave the house yesterday stayed in the A/C. Spent the day cleaning out closets. So you know I was bored. Hopefully it will clear some what later this afternoon. In the mood for burgers on the charcoal grille. Plus I have a bunch of clothes to get rid of... ;)

I have tomorrow off and have time to do some ride'n.

Want to wish one and all a super great Sunday... :D

Weather here is cloudy but slightly cooler than it has been. Would be a good day to strap on the helmet and cruise some of the back roads west of here. Taking a test spin this afternoon hopefully.

Jaded...do you know of a good Honda mechanic in the western Conn/Eastern NY area? Gary needs some carb work done on his bike but there is no one competant in his area that works on the older Hondas...they all want to sell the newer ones or the ATV's...they can't be bothered with the classics.

Hey, Cyikac.

Actually the guy that set up my carbs is right here in Woodbury. It is Murray Bros Garage. He plays with motorcycles and did a descent job. I also have a buddy Tom that is pretty good with GoldWings. He owns one himself. However there is a motorcycle repair shop in either Seymour or Ansonia that is extremely good with Hondas. I would need to get the name and phone number from some of the guys down in Corey's on Wednesday night if they are there. I need to know the year of Gary's bike...!

Curious are you planning on getting rid of your GoldWing or just picking up a second bike?

Jaded, I have a '79 GL1000...I live near Newburgh, NY so the closer to the state line, the better...my girl is needing some lov'in....

Thank you Cyikac... :rose: :rose:

Kind of a second one...my other is 650 miles south of here. Of course I have all my coworkers shaking their heads at me and mumbling something about a second childhood, lol.

Thanks for the info...looks like G saw it as well.

Well my friend I would say the one close to you would be Murray Borthers here in Woodbury.

Murray Bros.
19 Bacon Pond Rd.
Woodbury, CT, 06798
203-263-4779

They specialize in hertigage motorcycle repair.

I would say Newburgh is about a hour to a hour and a half away to me. I am about ten minutes away from I84 exit 15. They are pretty decent guys. You would have to talk to a guy named Andy... :) Christ there was a guy at Corey's a couple of weeks ago with a 79 GL1000... ;) Small world!

Well good for you. Your not planning on buying a second Gold Wing are you?

I am bigger in size than my co workers so I just tell them to "bite me"... :)

An any women will tell you that size really does matter...

Looked at a Honda 650...I am short at 5'5"...so the goldwing really stretches my legs a bit too much. They have a 2005 cherry red one with about 300 miles on it...of course that will clash the pink helmet I bough to remind everyone hey I am a girl....

As far as my coworkers..I am about 20 years older than some of them..so I just call them foolish children and pat their heads. Though I did have one give me a compliment ...even if when she said it it made me laugh... When I get old I want to be just like you.

Size does matter...too big and it is a waste, lol ;)

...Thanks Jaded, I will call them tomorrow for some info...

Next to an Interstate, my 'ole girl looks like a model T next to a Chrysler 300M...but I suspect the road feels the same for both...again, thank you very much..

Cyikac, if no one told you today what a wonderful person you are, let me be the first......your wonderful....oh...and not many bikers worry about the color of thier helmit clashing with the gas tank...<smile>...I hope, should we ever ride together, I will be able to keep up... :rose: :rose:
