Biker's Run..........................

Ouch..I was just thinking the same thing...

You know, I saw so many guys out over the past few weeks, riding in tank tops, shorts, sneakers. What are they thinking? NH does not have a helmet law and I won't even get into the "do's and don'ts" of that issue, but I won't even think of going out without leather and my brain bucket. If there was ever a biker who obeyed the traffic laws, it's me!

...when I was younger, I did the same thing...but the road burns come with the bike and mine got delivered with postage due.
...I say this...the great riders who never will wreck or lay thier bike down wear shorts, muscle shirt, snecker, and sometimes a brain bucket...I have to suit up even when it is hot because old ladies in big cars seem to make it thier reason to live as being to dart in front of me to enjoy the spetical of me sliding down the road on my ass...

...you are dead right...cars are not the number one killer of bikers...exceeding the speed limit is...I am with you on this issue sweetie...er..I mean Miss Eggroll

I had a brother-in-law die in a bike wreck, due to excessive speed on a winding road, less than a mile from his home... Funny how people get a little over confident around the familiar, even when it isn't a friendly area!

I have a friend who will not let me on his bike unless I wear jeans (and I only wear skirts, so this is a big change for me...) You just never know when on a bike something will happen and have to be prepared for the worst and pray it never happens!

Ride safe all!

Morning All, I always wear jeans, a DOT half helmet and 10" high boots on the bike even if I'm just running downstreet for a minute. On the top side I dress accordinlt to the temps from a leather, to a leather vest to a t-shirt with no vest. Also, chaps in the spring and fall. You have to weigh out getting fatigue from becoming overheated. I've been riding since I was 9 years old. I almost bought it last year when a young kid pulled out to pass someone he was tailgaiting and I was right there. We missed...obviously..whatever I was wearing would not have saved my ass in that situation. Shook it off, had dinner and hopped back on and took a ride up the valley. 40 mph on the back roads is fine and 50 to 55 on the highway is good. I'm in no hurry.

Patty, Sorry to hear about your brother-in-law.

Now for a little upper if it will upload. I had to do a face blur as they are friends. It's a pic I took at last years event. Everyone have a good one!!!

You guys can ride naked if you want. With my luck I'd catch the northbound end of a southbound bumblebee. I don't need an extra nipple, thank you! :p

Just gotta love them full Vetter fairings... :D Those bee's look so cute buncing off the windsheild. I would have to agree with your Miss Eggroll that two nipples work just fine. I can say it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling having two pressed against my bare back...

I have a Yamaha R6 so there is not so much protection, therefore it's the leather jacket and full face Arai that I have to depend on. Another paranoia is following behind some sort of gravel truck...yikes, I get around those ASAP!

Hi Everyone,
Patty, Very sorry to hear about your brother-in-law.

I Can agree 100% with wearing the skid lid and leather but I'm guilty of going with a do-rag on my head and T-Shirt. I draw the line on shorts and always wear my boots. I have watched friends go down right in front of me and went with them to the ER to watch a nurse use what looks like a wire bursh to clean out a gravel tattoo... Ouch does not describe that treatment.
I've watched the excitement of a crowd cheer on a young rider on his crotch rocket to the point he pulled a wheelie and dumped his girl off the back... She only had shorts on ... This was on the way back from the Weir's in stop and go traffic! She told him exactly what I was thinking and dissappeared into the crowd. Now the girl who was a passenger in front of me was very entertaining. She had her chaps on... and a vest... So she had her leather on but nothing else! Lic plate read TATTOO2 from Florida... Be darned if I coulds see any tan lines on that little butt on the putt.

But on the flip side I just rode a week straight in NH and during the day it was vest & T Shirt most of the time. When we headed home I suited up with leather coat & chaps for the long ride. 1/2 mile from our Cabin on Squam lake and a Bee flew right up the sleave of my leather coat! I felt the darn thing going up my arm till he got almost to my elbow and then he (she?) decided to sting the crap out of my arm!

Jaded, You jinxed me! I rode all week and 4 1/2 hours back from Laconia NH to Troy NY when we stopped for Supper at the diner. Got out and the bike would not start! Click , click , click! We bump started it and it ran fine all the way home (about another hour) . Tried to start it and , click ,click , click.
Put a meter on it and it shows 12.23 volts! Hit the button and click... Lights nice and bright! So I think its the starter or solonoid...right?
Then just for the heck of it we jump it with another battery. Fires right off with no hesitation! Go Figure! I admit I didn't do a load test but there is just a surface voltage in the battery with no real cranking power left.

HazyNY have a great time this weekend! Don't need any leather or any clothes there! Enjoy!

Too bad you can't make it NYwings...I have a spare ticket.... Real good bands there too including King Norris ( Fred from the Howard Stern Show ) Blackfoot and Edgar Winter not to mention many others.

I took a short ride last year down into town on my Son's sporty and I had a bee hit me in the face and it stung me the second he hit me. That hurt like a SOB!!! I just keep on going until I got home though.

Well got back for Corey's not long ago. A very nice selection on iron horse down there tonight. I just like to hang out with all the other girl and guy riders. It's a strange place. Metric and standard seem to get along pretty well there...

I'm not sure if I would really like the idea of riding a long distance without at least a windsheild anymore. I seen to much shit get kicked up from the road and I'd much rather have it hit the windsheild than to take it in the face. Hell I always attributed my rugged good looks to one to many face shots... :( Then again I look at them as character lines... A few other thinks I've learn as I matured (a little anyways) is to not were shorts while riding a bike. I remember a incident involving a loss fitting pair (at the pant leg opening) short, a bee, and traveling down the road doing 45 mph. People joke about it. But i can assure you that it hurts like hell. My left one was swollen the size of a grapefruit and numb for about a week... :( Hence I prefer long pants and a full fairing... ;)

Well NYWings I may have jinxed you my friends. But what I want you to do is to play the image of me smiling knowing I have that old battery indoors on a trickle charger all winter long. Truly believing that all I would have to do it through the battery in and the bike would start right up. I through the battery in turned the key. Hit the starter button and the lights on the dash went out and all I heard was a click. Wanna talk about feeling like a asshole... I charged a fucked up battery all winter long. I am also guilty of going off without the skid lid upon occassions. I know girls I'm a bad boy. Any of ya wanna spank me... :nana:

Yah know Webbo the more I get to know you the more I have to the conculsion that your nothing but a prev... I was pondering what it was that we had so much in common... :D

...I remember my first time doing a ride-a-bout around this great country of ours...I had stopped at a choke and puke in a two horse town in southern Ohio to get the vibrations off my ass and to sample the local well water mixed with some Maxwell House. I was getting ready to leave when I noticed three very pretty girls watching me saddle up.
Well...let me tell ya...I as the true definition of cool...I over did the whole mounting routine and really gave them a show. Everything was going great until I opened her up and went to lean her deep in my exit roar...

...anyone other than me ever take off and forget to knock your kick stand up...

...so much for being cool...in my mind, I can still imagine their laughter.

Ride safe, ride proud...

... :rose: :rose: ...

My more embarassing moment was coming to a stop sign and I forgot to put my feet down.... good thing the person I was riding with reached across and caught me before i fell over, lol.

Found a place in west va that actually rents some cool bikes to ride...they even do this overnight tour that I am going to look into...at least till I get my own...I miss the freedom of just heading out when and where
