I did it!!! I finally have 2 wheels...it might only be a scooter but for me it is a milestone. Laugh at me if you like...I can take it. I'm excited and proud of myself. :D

Have a great day!!! :rose:

Well Whspr congratulations on your decission... :) You didn't tell us what you bought other than it's a motor scooter. Well baby you are now offically a biker chic... :D A two wheeler like the rest of us. Now you'll get to be able to complain about 4 wheels like the rest of us... ;) I do hope that they took the time to give you a little exposure riding. Some of the basics. Just a bit of advice find yourself a skid lid just for safety reasons.

Perhaps I can get everyone here on the thread to venture down to your place. Being a biker now you can lead us around your fair town. You know sorta like the lead of are happy little rat pack...

Have a good time ride'n cutie...

...Jaded, if you go, I'll gladly cover your 6 as a windman...I wouldn't mind meeting Whprs...though I suspect I will be a studdering idiot in her presence..... :(

g-evenin' gang,

...Been quiet awhile since I was on here, looks like a lot has been goin' on.
...Been busy tryin' to sell my place here, and buyin' another farm, kindofasilly idea I know, takin' on more work, always cuts into the ridin time, and other enjoyable things.. ;) , but what can I say, always enjoyed the 'farmin thang'
...the Honda Hoot is goin on, in Knoxville this week, and there have been many bikes thru my lil' town the last few days. I stopped at a local waterin' hole this afternoon after work, and talked to a few. I always enjoy meetin' other 'bikers', and chattin' it up for a bit.
...Glad to hear ya have a bike whspr, don't matter what it is woman, you are now one of us....Enjoy, and likes been mentioned, be sure ya can handle the machine, before ya take her out in traffic. A big abandoned parkin' lot is always a good learning area, set up some cones/cans, etc, and practice some slow-speed manuvers. better yet would be to take the msf course, I think doc teaches those, so he could tell ya better then me.
...Got this relay-for-life thing tomorrow nite, so gonna be a slow start to the weekend, but already have a road trip in the works for the next week. I just gotta get away, need some time to breathe, and forget all the hassles I been goin' thru...
...Hope everyone has a great Friday, and the weekend is even better....

...Remember, new asphalt is more an attitude, then it is road..... :)

Count me in on the leather side...

Too many years catching bees and wasps in collars, t-shirts, pant legs and whatever... never going to ride without a windshield again. And as far as helmets go, I may ride around the block without a lid, but when it comes to getting on Colorado's Interstate Insane Asylums, you better believe I dress the part. I told one of my riding buds the other day I've used more of my combat training from 'Nam on the roads of Colorado than I used overseas...these drivers treat you as if you're on a bicycle rather than an 850 pound bullet. Lost my best bud two years ago when he was coming back home from a bible study and some illegal alien in a minivan plowed into him crossing against the right of way at a signal intersection. Killed him instantly, wearing his leathers and a helmet, and all they did was deport the clown, leaving his widow no civil recourse...which SUCKS! But that's what being a biker in Colorado means... life's cheap.

Good morning, one and all.... :)

Christ it's another beautiful morning here in the small town of Woodbury. A day like this ya can't waste. Today I'm goin riden.... :D Hey Miss Eggroll could use a riden partner. Think ya can keep up... ;)

Great to see you again Snake. Having done a little farming myself I figured that you where busy out on the back forty acres... :) I hope you and family is doing fine!

I have been lucky so far Dinny I haven't lost any riden buddys. I watched a buddy go down on a parkway doing 70 mph when a asshole cut in front of him and clipped his front tire throwing him into the center gaurd rail. The driver tryed to speed away but one of the guys caught him and got his license plate number. The rest of us stayed with are downed buddy to make sure he wasn't hit again. He was in the hospital for a while. But he was wearing a Bell helmet and it saved his life.

SirGary, you live only a stones throw from me. I'll put together a BBQ and we will sit and shoot the shit out here in the yard. Perhaps we can talk Hazeny and NYWings into joining us. My friends know that my door is always open to them... ;)

Well gang it's to nice to be indoors today. I want to get some saddle time in. Have a super great Friday. Catcha ya all later... :D

...we have drama...
...a battery with a tricle charge all winter that turns out to be no good in the spring...that denotes a lot of drama...
...if it was good...the scene from Frankenstien comes to mind..."It's alive...it's alive"...you can't invent better drama than that... :)

Hi Everyone...
Watched so many bikes heading for the vois today! I was one a couple miles from there so it made that much harder to keep working. Helped a few lost souls find their way so I did a good deed.

Jaded, I'm with you on the trickle charger routeen! I keep a battery tender on mine all winter so I don't have to recode my security system and to maintain the battery.
Well $93.00 later I have a new Gel Cell and now I have to recode the darn security system again. I picked up some LED's up in Laconia so I'm waiting to see what the bike looks like at night with the chrome lit up in shades of blue.

Too bad i couldn't have hooked up with Hazeny ... A spare ticket and Oh so close... Well I hope he gets the chance to take lots of good pics.

WSPR Congrats on the new bike. Great size to get started with. My first street bike was a 71 Honda CB175 I bought from two girls going to New Paltz college. Neither girl wanted to tell mom & dad they bought a bike so they sold it when college broke for summer.

Keep us informed on the date for the BBQ Jaded! Just give me some lead time and I'll be there. Love to tip a few while sharing the good times from the road. Love some good pulled Pork too!

Speaking of good times on the road I'm planning on doing a route 66 run in 2009. Right now it looks like a run south through the Blue ridge and west out 66 , north to SD for Sturgis and back to NY across Canada. Just planning stages now but it's fun to dream.

Hope everyone has a great weekend !

Howdy all,

Wow,, lots of people having a good time. Hello to all!

Congrats on the new wheels Ms. Whspr! Be careful, the car drivers are not always attentive!

NYWings,,, any room for another bike to tag along in 2009? Sounds like a good ride!

Sirgary,,, yep, them trickle chargers seem to kill a battery over the winter! Put a new one in the '86 Wing this year. Have a Gel-Cell in the '96, but I ride it all year round!

Great weather here in the Great Lake State! Have a funeral service to do on Sat. afternoon, a motorcycle study conference in the evening, but Sunday, riding to the Mackinaw Bridge for lunch!

Jaded,,, get some saddle time pal.

^5's to the guys,
's to the ladies.

Stay safe.

Good evening, everyone... :)

Wow what a windy day today. I got a visit from the Fire Marshall this morning to inspect the build. Went through with flying colors. So I went over to where I keep the bike stored and took a little ride this morning. I decided to take a run into New Milford then head up Rte 7 into Mass. I left wearing a pair of jeans and a T-shirt. I was also wearing my leather vest. Well that wind came up and it got dam cold. I made it to New Milford but decided to end my trip there. I wasn't interested into venturing further north in the cold wind. So I went over to visit my daughter in law and grand daughter... ;) The grand daughter is so beautiful. It's gonna be funny because she is going to tower over my daughter in law (4' 8"). She has my sons super long legs and he's 6' 5". So I hung out with them today.

Whspr it won't be long before your bitten by ride'n. Next thing you'll know is you'll have a incredible urge to be tattoo'd. Then will come the leathers. Next you need a large bike and find yourself cursing more... Yep legally you are now a biker... :D

Cyikac, SirGary, and NYWings I'll let you guys (and gal) pick a date. I am busy on the weekends in July. But August on I have now major plans. Once we get a date then we can put together a menu. NYWings I will put together pulled pork BBQ'd sandwiched with my Tex/Mex BBQ sauce. But first we all have to agree upon a date. I have done several of these cook outs and meet many great friends here on Lit. My friends know their always welcome and I would hope to call you guys my friends. I live in a apartment but we will find space for everyone... :D

Sounds like a fun filled day, except for the freezing your tail off.

I'm open mid August on...won't have the bike by then but have the requisite helmet, riding gear, and tattoo(lol)

Well how about if we make it the third weekend in August. Perhaps we can generate more interest in that weekend.... :D We can shot for that Saturday, August 18th...!

Sorry dude you can count me out on that weekend. Americal Legion Legacy Run! I am on the Pony Express and will ride area monies to Indy where the big run starts. I am not heading all the way to Reno but will be making a few miles with the big run.

Regardless of what is decided we should all look at DELMARVA this year. Lots of lit folks made it there last year, so I heard.

Sounds great to me...not working that weekend even if they beg on hands and knees (though it is nice to have someone beg every now and then, lol).

Let me know how many...can do desserts, salads, whatever and drive them up...or just chip in..

Hope your weekend went as well as you had hoped.

And you certainly have a bunch of interesting friends...looking forward to the next get together...oh...and I still want to hitch a ride one day

Good morning, everyone... :)

The weather looks a little better today. Not a cloud in the sky and no wind... :) It is supposed to be a cool day today and my wing definitely enjoys cool air. It just seems to run a little stronger... ;) So I have nothing planned for today but saddle time.

Sorry Doc about the date. But I was planning on at a second one in the fall. Litchfield county is beath taking in the fall as all the leaves change color. The nights are chilly. But the days warm up. Hopefully you'll be able to make that one.

Now see Cyikac begging is not that impressive to me... At one point in my life I was married and used to have to beg the wife for sex all the time... :( Now that I'm single again I only have to beg on ocassion. You know the really really good one... ;)

OK as for the great american cook out on August, 18th. I have my patio table, a gas grille, and two webber charcoal grilles. I have put together some twelve to fifteen of these things over the years I have been with Lit. I have probably meet some 30 plus Litizens. We have always had fun. It's a chance to relax outdoors with the people you have meet on a thread. I will post a menu up on the thread. It will also provide you with who's planning to attend. For those that are planning to attend if you choose to prepare something for the BBQ you will know exactly what is being offered. Your offering will also be added to the menu to avoid repetition and you name will be posted next to your offering. NYWing and I vote for pulled pork BBQ sandwiches so that will be one of the items I will make. I was also thinking of Polynesian boneless chicken breasts this gives us a varity. It will be a BYOB affair. A heads up, should you get drunk I WILL take your keys from you and were you fall you'll sleep. I haven't lost any friends to DWI and you won't be my first I can assure you...! Yes when I do these cook outs I always seem to cook for a army. If you leave hungry it's your own dam fault. It will be a decadent day filled with laughter, good food, and great friends... :D

OK so let's get this party started........

I am proud to announce (or re announce) the first Biker’s Run get together and BBQ… :D

The rescheduled date will be; August 18th, 2007.

The location will be; my place in the sleep town of Woodbury, Connecticut nestled in the beautiful hills of Litchfield county... :)

Who is invited; the good members of Biker’s Run (and very naughty biker chic’s… )

Rule of attending; damned if I know…! We never had rules before…! This is like Vegas, what happens here stays here!

All joking aside this is your opportunity to meet some of the great people on this thread face to face. It will be a day good food, good friends, and good times. Just a day for you to relax in the warm sun with your extended family. No pressure and no egos! Just laughter and lots of fun.

So who all is coming so far: Cyikac, SirGary, and myself… :)

The menu for the BBQ will be: (anyone wishing to bring a entrée please PM me so it can be added to the list and you will receive credit for it… It also help avoiding duplicates)

. Pulled pork BBQ sandwiches made with my special homemade Tex / Mex BBQ
sauce made with tequila.– Jaded.
. Jaded’s Polynesian Honey Glazed Chicken Breasts – Jaded.
. Jaded’s Homemade German Potato Salad – Jaded.
. Vegetable Kebabs with a Peppercorn Sauce – Jaded.
. A tossed green salad - Jaded
. Plenty of ice cold soda – Jaded. (this is a BYOB affair)

I will be supplying…

. Kaiser rolls for the BBQ pulled pork
. Tomatoes, onions, lettuce, cucumber, raisins, crotons, and a assortment of
dressings for the salad.
. Condiments (not condoms! Supply your own… You know you’ll fall right out
of the Magnums that I us…!) such as; Ketchup, mustard, mayo, salt, pepper, etc.
. Paper plates, plastic cups, plastic eating utensils, and paper napkins.
. Ice.

Jaded has a supply of Mardi Gras beads for those naughty biker chic’s wanting to show or rub their tits against ol’e Jaded…

This will be the first in a series of Biker’s Run BBQ’s. They have always been about promoting friendships.

Although we love seeing your bike it is not necessary for those traveling long distances or those planning to drink a little to attend on a 2 wheeler. There are times when a 4 wheeler is a better choice than reading about you in the newspaper. Those planning to attend please PM me so your name can be added to the list attending.

So who else is planning to attend…

Be a part of this historic moment. A part of the legend of Biker's Run. Can you hang there with the best...? It will be something that your grand children will tell the story. I need to know before August 11th if your comings.......... ;)

Only the strong ones will survive...................
