Biker's Run..........................

Hey Jaded and the rest of the bikers and biker chicks~ I finally got my bike running again and went for a short little putt to check it out. No longer leaking gas...woohoo!!! And she just sounded so good going thru the gears and riding up the road. I will do more catching up later, just wanted to let you all know that I am finally back in the wind. Worked 12 hrs today, came home and push mowed for 2 1/2 hrs, then worked on the bike, took my little putt, put all tools away, hopped in the shower and stopped by here to share my good news. Now it is time for bed...4:30 comes too damn early!! But it is my last day of work till Thurs., and that is my holiday day, so making some good $ to work it. Took next weekend off for a friend's wedding. So finally after working all this OT, I am going to have some fun!!! ;)

So who all is coming so far: Cyikac, SirGary, NYWings, and myself… :)

The menu for the BBQ will be: (anyone wishing to bring a entrée please PM me so it can be added to the list and you will receive credit for it… It also help avoiding duplicates)

Jaded has a supply of Mardi Gras beads for those naughty biker chic’s wanting to show or rub their tits against ol’e Jaded…

This will be the first in a series of Biker’s Run BBQ’s. They have always been about promoting friendships.

Although we love seeing your bike it is not necessary for those traveling long distances or those planning to drink a little to attend on a 2 wheeler. There are times when a 4 wheeler is a better choice than reading about you in the newspaper. Those planning to attend please PM me so your name can be added to the list attending.

So who else is planning to attend…

Be a part of this historic moment. A part of the legend of Biker's Run. Can you hang there with the best...? It will be something that your grand children will tell the story. I need to know before August 11th if your comings.......... ;)

Good evening, everyone... :)

Well just got back from doing laundry. I was actually planning on being home earlier. But didn't get to the laundry until late this afternoon. Meet up with some of the local ol'e timers (yes older than me) and bullshited for a while. Then got back up on the Wing and didn't want to come home to do laundry so I procrastinated... It doesn't make me a bad guy... :)

The weather guess'r said that it looks like the T storms may hold of until later on Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Which means that there will be a good chance of bike night at Coreys on Wednesday night... :D I'll hit the bike with a little detailing spray before heading down there... ;)

Cyikac have you heard anything from the bank about your Shadow... :confussed:

Well gonna see if I can scar up something for dinner!

Have a great evening... :)

hello gang...

...Been hectic here, took a few days off last week, and gonna do the same thing this week. Still in the process of movin', and sellin' our place, gawd I hate all this movin' nonsense, I'm not sure it wouldn't be easier to sell our junk, and buy all new...
...Like the countdown to bar-b-que jade, hope this one goes thru with a big turn-out, who knows, should I get all this mess done here by then, I mite head north, gawd knows I need some time away... :)
...Hope you are doin' better doc, am sure its depressin' as well as bein' in misery, from all the bumps/scrapes, and bruises. Hope the insurance gets ya lined out soon, and gets ya back on the road.
...Musta missed the post on you gettin' a Shadow cyikac, I don't get in here often enuff anymore, and yall keep this post humpin'. Good luck, my wife rides, or did, a 1100 shadow, sabre. I have been after her to sell it, I fired it a few months ago, but she hasn't been on it, since the gr-baby came, and that was last september. Good luck, and hope the bank comes thru for ya.
...Congrats sassy, on gettin' back in the saddle, sounds like ya have it lined out, and ready to ride, hope ya have a good holiday weekend.
...I took off early yesterday mornin', and headed west, took in a lil' windin'/twisty road, I have been hearin' about in Tenn. Called the "devils Triangle", perty nice road, but after what I am use to here, was not that spectacular. I rode on down to watts Barr lake, I use to tournament fish there years ago, and headed back home via way of the back roads. Stopped at several bike hangouts, and chatted it up with other riders, and took a bunch of pics, beautiful day, but did get hott...
...Got one more day this week, then takin' the rest of the week off again, I am startin' to think i need a vacation, from my vacation time...
...Hope everyone has a great evenin', and if I don't get back, a GREAT 4th of July...

New asphalt is more attitude, then it is road....

wow you guys sure are havin some good dicussions here...anyway just a quick line to let you know that winter in the Riverina is almost non existent, the sun is shining and it's getting up to about 20 odd degrese Celcius here.
Planning a ride on Friday up to Canberra to see my mad assed cousin, about a 3 hour trip so it should be a good run.

Cyikac I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya.... ;)

Snake I can't imagine moving a entire farm. Helped my neighbor move a couple of weeks ago and remembered why I hated moving. The largest peice of equipment we had to deal with was his riding lawnmower. Glad to see you to a break and got some riding time in. Nice seeing you here on are little thread... :)

Hey Webbo glad to see you drop by. Your winters don't last very long at all. Glad to hear your getting saddle time. Did you ever decide on another bike. You never got back to us. Can't imagine Roz isn't going to want saddle time and it would nice to have a rid'n partner... :)

Well Doc hope every is going well for you my friend... :)

It's time for me to get ready for work. I think I am going to pick up a nice steak for tomorrow to cook on the Webber charcoal grill.

Still no f'ing news. Start to be a pissed off biker!!! The adjuster went to see it but since he is not used to doing motorcycles has his hands full. Why the hell they did not let me just do what I told them and take it to the shop that is going to fix it is freaking stupid.

Doc,
I feel for your situation and had a feeling you might run into this. All the adjusters software is geared to a car and he is lost without it.
Sounds like the ins co tried to mitigate the storage charges so they moved it to their t/l yard. This is very common with cars and because the rip off tow yards gouge the system they have to do it this way to control costs.

Best advice I can give to you is to pay your Harley dealer to go there and write an estimate for you. A REAL estimate. They must give you access to YOUR motorcycle. Also talk with your dealer about replacement costs to include the base bike and it's accessories. Ask for a valid quote as to what he would sell the bike for used if he had it on his floor.
Make sure he knows you need to replace the bike and perhaps need assistance with transfering over the loan to the new bike.

With the possibility of selling you a new bike he will be more willing to help you reach your goal.

Armed with facts and figures YOU will have the ammunition to fight the ins co on the settlement . The more homework YOU have the better you will be to prove your loss to them... Or the state ins dept if you have to take your case there. Check the state ins dept online to see if you can get some regulations for total loss settlements just to be sure.

Check Classifieds & Dealers for similar year and model bikes. Do an average to get an overall view as to whats around your area. Then try to compare your bike to that average. Low miles + , More accessories + High miles - ect...

Now if they give you a figure you dissagree with you have the way to prove your value with facts. Ins co are all about numbers so if you have the facts and can support them you will get treated fairly.

lastly I would say never accept any quote over the phone. If they tell you what they are offering request they send it or fax it to you for review before you commit to anything. Get a copy of the estimate and a copy of their actual cash value workup. Make sure they included ALL your accessories and have the correct model edition for your bike. Correct mileage and so forth.

Don't make it easy for them but don't just say you don't like their settlement if you cannot support your demand.

Do your homework and you will do alright.

Good luck my friend!

Good evening, everyone... :)

It was a long work day for me (11 hours) and I'm tired... :( I am planning to crash early tonight. I have heard a weather forcast of late. I am still hoping that the sky stays clear for Corey's bike night tomorrow night.

My back rest has a cold and not feeling good. She didn't have any plans for tomorrow and didn't want to be alone so I invited her over to spend the day. I bought a nice steak and being a wonderful guy I'll share it with her. Some one has to take care of her!

Hazeny enjoy your BBQ at the college and remember to keep your hands off those young hard bodied coeds. Their only gonna get your ass in trouble...

Webbo I know were your head is right now. I've often wished that I was rich enough like Cyikac and own a couple of bikes instead of just one... ;) We love ya sweetheart... When we meet at the cook out she is gonna kick my ass SOoooo bad...!

Doc, NYWings is right. I would get one from your local Harely dealership. They may very well do collision work themselve and on from the shop that you want to repair the bike. I'll tell ya up until about three years ago I had been with State Farm Insurance on my 4 wheeler. About ever two years my insurance rates would go up. Now I haven't had a accident of ticket ever. which didn't make any sense for the increases. I call Geico and they saved me $400.00 a year for the same coverage. Geico also has a seperate division strictly for motorcycle coverage. I us them for both my 4 wheeler and 2 wheeler. Doc I am with you and hoping that it all falls into place for you my friend.

NYWings your one smart puppy... ;) Thanks for the support and the help my friend. You a valued member of the Biker's Run family... :D

Well gang I need to go in and take a nice hot shower. The arms and back muscles got a really good work out today. This is the first time I finally got to sit down today and just relax since 6 am this morning. Any of you women wanna jump in the shower with me. I can't reach the center of my wide back because of my large arms... :( I would really really appreciate it if your gave me a hand...

...sorry Jaded1, thunderstorms were guessed for tomorrow night...might be hit or miss so keep the overpasses handy...

...Have a good rest, buddy..

.. :rose:  :rose: ..

Happy July 4th..............

Good morning, everyone... :)

A very Happy Independence Day to one and all. I do hope everyone has plans for the day... :nana:

SirGary I sense your advice may be correct. There is a morning haze in the air and the sky has clouded over. I think I will leave my bike in my storage area until I see what this afternoon brings. It will stay nice and dry should T-storms pop up this afternoon. If it looks like it will rain they will call the bike night off. By the way my friend did you hear anything from the garage you took your bike to?

Well I am off to shower and start the day. Perhaps back rest and I will take in a movie today. With her cold I am not sure how much energy she is going to have and no need to get her runned down.

Catcha ya all later.............. ;)

A Happy 4th to all of you out there as well.

And no Jaded, I won't even try to kick your ass at the picnic...I have hired guns for that, lol.

Want everyone to have a safe day if you are out riding. Gonna be a lot of inebriated people on the roads...so watch your backs.

Most of above has been done. If it is a T/L on a 2007 with 4000 miles it would be valued at 2000 below MSRP plus about 50 percent on accessories. I have 4005.97 in chrome accessories, etc. on the bike. So I SHOULD be ok. I figure I will lose a good chunk of change because of damn interest rates but if I can net my down payment and most of my chrome back out of it I will be set with a new down payment after pay off.

Yeah the insurance company is stupid. I had a shop willing to front the towing and storage to them if I would let them do the work afterward but guess they did not trust me. Instead they paid to have it towed about 1.5 to 2 hours away.

I am giving them until noon tommorrow then I will reopen my claim with my insurance who has trained motorcycle inspectors that will be out the day of, speaking from experience.

I am just ticked because I hate f'ing stupid people. We could have settled this by now if they would have just listened to me. Oh well it just adds to the rest of my settlement claim.I am about 90 percent in health right now. Got some scars and the bruises are turing that yucky brown color but I expect a clean bill from the doc tommorrow so the medical/injury/inconvenience part will move forward ASAP. If I do not have a valid offer on THAT on the table by the first part of the week I have two attorneys lined up in the wings. One of which is a biker by the way.

Just going a bit crazy. As another of my helmet stickers says, "For some of us there's therapy for the rest there are motorcycles." What happens if you pull someone out of therapy suddenly? They go a bit crazy.......
