Jaded, Yes those crisp days and the changing fall colors make for some of the best rides! Like you I also love to smell wood fires as you cruise the countryside. A warm leather jacket with Chaps and gloves for an all day ride in total comfort.
Reminds me of a swap meet I attended many moons ago in the Adirondacks. It was a warm day for the late fall and a good ride. Swap meet was "so so " but they had some fine ladies that were very brave to get up for some contests later on and the air took on a sharp chill when that sun went down. The party was good and stretched on into the later hours. Lost track of time and went into the morning hours. As I got to the bike and took a look at the frost across my windshield I knew it would be a cold night ride. Kept telling myself I'm not supposed to be scraping frost off my windshield before a ride on two wheels but the motel was a good 45 minutes away by day and I knew it would be longer at night. It was a ccold ride but that sure kept me awake. Managed to take a spare pair of gloves and wedge them behind the oil lines on the Heritage. It worked well to deflect the engine heat up towards me. I was sure glad I bought a pair of chaps at the swap meet! Paid $40.00 for them cause they had fringe down the sides. The young lady selling them taylored them to me with the help of a large pair of shears. She told me the leather was from her dads cattle. It sure was soft and had a very oily feel to it. She was right about them forming to the shape of my leg too. Well those old Chaps are twenty years old now cause I was riding a brand new 87 Heritage "Special" at the time. The oily nature of the leather kept them soft and very water resistant over the years. I'm out to the last hole on the buckle cause they must have shrunk ... But they are like an old pair of boots that you can't get rid of... They still work and are very comfortable.
I'm still working on getting some pics from the Blue Ridge Parkway posted. I'm a little slow with computer stuff but I'll figure it out eventually.

Got some happy news today......Doctor said I might only live another 40 to 50 years...provided I don;t do any stunt riding on the Shadow,lol.....

Oh...SG....you can borrow the bike if you want...just don;t scratch the paint. Of course we will have to work out some sort of rental agreement...

Afternoon All, overcast and breezy here today. It's suppose to get down to 36 this Saturday night so the Fall weather is trying to get going.

...Yes, Fall is weeks away and the coolness is in the air...
The Yamaha relic didn't pass the "I want to live" test...a battery and ether didn't give it life so if anyone needs a boat achor....
The Wing has half the tub off of her and maybe this weekend between helping friends, I will continue working on removing the engine...
Jaded....hold out as long as you can....but I sincerely hope we can ride one time this year before we let our Wings sleep for the winter...
Cyikac....hit the road female....and enjoy your advanced course....beware...Blueeyes will be riding Virginia's roads within weeks...=)
