Good evening, everyone...

Woohoo it's the weekend... Got off work at 4 pm. Before it got dark I wanted to put the snow tires on the van. That job is done... Now tomorrow is the Woodbury Christmas Festival. I did want to go to the many different thinks going on in town tomorrow. However I also have a snow blower I want running before the snow starts on Sunday evening. This means I am going to have to get an early jump at looking at the snow blower. Supposedly it ran. I know it need a fuel cap and there is dust and pieces of leafs in the plastic fuel tank. I'll have to start by picking up a cap and remove the tank and rinse out the dirt. I'll check the air filter to make sure it's clean and replace the spark plug. Fuel it up and see what happens. Hopefully that is all it needs.... Sunday and Monday is house cleaning. The place has to be spotless for my daughter and grandsons visit on Friday...

Glad to see you with us Sassy. Happy to hear your Thanksgiving was a good one. Sorry to hear you have a bug... I also hope your vacation request is approved. It will be fun to spend the day with your friend...

OK, it's time to get out of these work cloth and get my shower in. I do hope everybody has a super great weekend...

fixin up the blower

Well I see your like me with leaving things to the last minute some times. Hell I gotta finish covering the boat yet! Winterized it couple weeks ago but still need to build my "teePee" over it for the snow.

Now about that blower. Get some new fuel line for when you pull the tank. The float bowl should drop right off the carb pretty easy to. Get a new plug and squirt some engine fogging oil inside the cylinder before you start to turn it over. That will give you a lot of good lube on the top ring... And we all know how nice it is to have a lot of lube on that top ring... Its also so nice to have a good blower too...
Anyway ... after you use a good carb cleaner to get those jets working again. Fresh fuel and new lines that don't have all that internal rot to plug up the carb again your ready to pull it off... Don'r forget to lube up the shoot so it turns nice and smooth too.

On another note a buddy of mine has a long winter ahead of him...
He just purchased an absolutely beautiful 2008 105th anniversary edition screaming eagle road king. This is a custom built bike by Harley in the CVO unit. Basically a bike custom built by a team of people from start to finish. This bike does not go down the assembly line at all but is built by the custom Vehicle Operations unit. 110 cubic inches of stroked and custom Harley. Sorry but I get wood when I think about that bike. The frame is painted twilight blue ( very dark blue) and the base color of the tins match. There is an overlay on the fender and tanks of cobalt blue pearl with blue flames and highlight over that. Snake skin inlays in the seats and tops of the leather saddle bags complement the color. The bike is a work of art to say the least.
This poor guy only put about 300 miles on the bike so far and now needs to wait till spring to ride again!

And...Last but not least... HIS GIRL RODE HER BIKE! Yes her own bike !
It still needs some finishing touches but the engine he got off e-bay runs great! Looks great! and so does she sitting on it!
She only rode a short ride but she rode it and had a smile from ear to ear!

greetings from missouri.

I hope you all don't mind me jumping in here. I haven't been much of a poster or submitter lately; in fact the past two years seems like a fog to me....and drugs or alcohol weren't involved!

I'm an independent rider, not belonging to any club or organization, but I DO ride, and try to get to as many events as I can, and to some events year after year.

I have tried belonging to various groups (nothing 1%), but politics and cliques always raise their ugly heads, and down the road I go, screaming at the top of my lungs, "IT'S ABOUT RIDING, NOT WHO DID WHAT, OR WHO'S FUCKING WHO!"

I often wonder why I still belong to Literotica; but if I had to guess; it's probably because I'm a perv!!!

Well, back to the basics...

Riding an '02 FLSTC (Heritage Softail). The first thing I did to her was strip her down (cause that's the way I like my women!), bought her some new tins and gave her some new paint that didn't have some companys name all over it. Her motor is stock cause it sure is nice to know that whatever part I may need is just 3 blocks away, besides, she'll do 95 all day long without a complaint and give me the same tomorrow.

Almost all my stories and poems are biker related if you'd care to imbibe.

EVENTS:

Sturgis.....every year, come hell or highwater, Glencoe Campground, Section 8
Daytona....depends on the money, like every other year. I stay in Ocalla and ride in about 70 miles to the rally every day.

If you're ever in the Midwest:

Little Sturgis, Kentucky...the last week of July...now this brothers and sisters you do not want to miss...do a web search and check out the official site for exact dates. WARNING: don't wait until Friday to get in or you will be sucking hind tit when it comes to campsites.

Good morning, girls and boys...

It is a chilly morning here in Woodbury. Had a lot of email today. It is easy to tell that the Christmas holiday is approaching by all the sales flyers. The old economy is a bit sluggish. On the news earlier this week Harley Davidson announced that the manufacturing plant would be shutting down for a week due to a lack of sales! Now if Harley is shutting down for a week you know the rest of manufacturing is stale. I guess about the only thing doing half decent is electronics.

Good to see you drop by the Biker's Run thread NYWings. The snow blower is a small unit it's a Toro S 620 with electric start. It doesn't look like it seen much use. The fuel tank was completely empty when I got it and no fuel cap. It was covered in dust from just sitting in a shed. I wiped it down with some simple green and it looks like new. I figured I'll get the cover off and get some numbers off the identity tag. Then go hit my local Toro dealer. It's a neat little toy to make life a little easier.

Sounds like you've been able to get some serious saddle time... I just started riding again last year after raising two kids. Kids are grown with kids of their own now. I am semi retired and thought I would end up with spare time. Fact is I seem busier than ever. I am the rider of a restored 1981 Honda GoldWing Interstate. She is basically stock and loaded with chrome. Sweet running bike.

Want to wish you a super great day my friend. Now I do have to run a kick a snow blowers ass before the first winter storm hit here tomorrow night.

Well, so much for getting the snow blower going this weekend... Went to my local Toro dealer and he didn't have the cap. Suggested that I over haul the carb. With fuel sitting in the fuel bowl it reacts with a rubber diaphragm in the upper position of the carb and destroys it. That rubber diaphragm works as the fuel pump. He had to order the cap and the carb kit. I guess if your gonna do it do it right.

Now where the hell did I put that dam snow shovel...

Well, my friend that phase was given to me by my Grandpa when I was a young'n... But I heard it as " If it's got tits or tires it will give ya nothing but headaches ". However, I find it to be only half true... 99 percent of the time I can fix the things with tires! But I'll be dammed in hell if I can ever figure out a woman... I'm learn'n to take it one day at a time...

Now as far as the welcome is concerned. Just one ol'e biker shown respect to another ol'e biker. We're brothers and sisters under the leathers...!

Ya, the parts for the snow blower will be in next week some times. As far as fixing it... That's not a problem either I am extremely talented with my hands! I'll let you think a little on that one while your lying in bed tonight...

I understand about the finals. Been down that road myself. I do understand the part about hitting the books. However, make sure you get the rest too or you'll find your brain turns to mush the day of the test. Good luck...

Christmas in New England.....

Good evening, one and all...

Unable to tackle the task of repairing my snow blower today. I decided to venture down for the tree light ceremony here in the small New England town of Woodbury, CT. The air was brisk so I dressed warm. As I walked down the street to the North green on Main Street I could see the small gathering of both young and old. The gazebo was already lite with it's white light decorations. The small school band stood huddled to break the slight breeze. Young school boys and girls where busy walking through the crowd passing out printed sheets with holiday carols. The first selectman made a short speech as politicians do then threw the switch that illuminated the 50 plus foot tree on the green. It stood strongly bearing it's coat of multi colored lights against the darkening sky. The band broke into tune and the small group of people joined together in caroling. The evening was peaceful and friendly. No need for rushing. This evening we stepped back into Dickens's time. We rolled back time to a more friendly and relaxing time. People laughing. They were wishing one a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. No loud street noises or planes passing over head. Perhaps today was meant to be for me.

I would like to take a moment of your time to the able to wish one and all on Biker's Run a very warm Merry Christmas and the Happiest of Holidays. May it be filled with good friends, laughter, love, and family. A very special Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to the men and women in are armed forces. We love you all...

I think I know now why is still live in my very small little town...

It has been in the 20's the last 2 days when I got off work...off of midnight shift. Too cold for me!

We might still have some 50 - 60 degree days, to get out and take at least a short putt.

Haze ~ I am sleeping in tomorrow....can't sleep now, so will try to catch ya sometime tomorrow to back up that promise I made.

This evening we stepped back into Dickens's time. We rolled back time to a more friendly and relaxing time. People laughing. They were wishing one a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. No loud street noises or planes passing over head. Perhaps today was meant to be for me.

Our county seat has a Dicken's Village set up on main street. They made Dicken's characters and have them all up and down the street. It is a tourist attraction and they keep adding to it every year. I haven't walked the street to read what they have posted with the different characters...but am going to try and do it this year. People come in by the busload to check this thing out...so I think I can at least drive to town and start on one end of town and go E, then come back the other side of the street heading W. There is an article in every Sun. paper, all year, about the Village and what they are doing to change/expand.

Gotta admit, it is something I want to do.

Had our Christmas toy run here yesterday, about 200 odd bikes rangeing from Harleys thru to Norton Commando's and Honda CT110 posty bikes, but nearly 400 people all up, got two ute loads of toys and about $250,000 to help the local needy kids have a better chrissy that what they normally would

Well it's summer here so I get to ride the new bike (in the sig line) a lot more.

It sound kewl. Woodbury has gotten to that stage yet... The town was actual built in the late 1700's / early 1800's. Main Street is lined with big old colony homes and is are historic area. In New England there is a tradition of placing a candle in the windows to welcome weary strangers. Today people have replaced the original open flame candles with electric candles but most carry on that same tradition. It seems the owners of the old colonial houses try to out decorate each other ever year with wreaths and lights.

On Christmas Eve the Knights of Columbus line the entire length (approx. a mile) of Main St. with lumina candles (3 foot apart) and light them. I usually dress warm and walk Main St. that night. There are many people out with there families also walking. People wishing one another a Merry Christmas. In Woodbury most stores are closed by 7 PM so there isn't much traffic. Everyone has their houses decorated. There has been a few years that there was a light snow fall Christmas Eve. With the scent of wood burning stove and fireplaces it just adds to the New England picture. A very good friend of mine has a tree service. Each holiday he brings his boom truck down to the center of Main St. and extends the boom out over the center of the street. There he has hanging an enormous American flag above the street high enough for vehicles to pass under. It has to be somewhere around 15' x 30'. In the center of Main St. there will be American flags mounted on the utility poles to honor are brave soldiers and remind everyone about them during the holiday season. In all the years I have lived in this small town there has been only one homicide. Basically there is no crime... When I first came here we had a full time police officer and a part timer. Both got off work at 5 PM so crime after 5 PM was illegal. Now I original grew up on Long Island. But I'll take small town living any day. The most spiteful thing I had one year is someone smashed my pumpkin I had sitting out for Halloween. In the summer I go to sleep with the windows open and the doors unlocked... Give me the small town life any day...

They haven't done the toys for tots run here in Connecticut yet. The police each year in each town do a fill the police cruiser for needy kids and that seems to be having a great deal of success. I haven't heard the date for the toys for tots run. With the cold and nasty weather starting already this season I have put my girl up for the winter...

I like the new iron horse... Does that mean you and Roz have you own bikes now...?

It's a chill morning and the skies have that light grey look about them. The weather guessers still don't seem to have an idea of just what is going to happen today. They seem to be all over the board...

This morning I have still a few things outside that need to get put away before this winter event takes place. I do want to cover up the vans so I don't have to clean the snow off it tomorrow. I want to get some dusting in today and vacuuming before the football game this afternoon. While doing that I also have plans for making a pot of chili. I am still in the process of fine tuning my recipe for the New England Regional Chili Cook Off in May of next year. I plan to do some very serious ass kicking at this event this year...

GG, your Daddy still have plans on calling his baby girl later this evening. Didn't forget ya...

OK, time to get my sweet ass going. To those in the path of this storm batten down the hatches. I want to wish everybody a super great day...

...time to test out the fourwheel drive, I'm out of beer and it's falling white here in the Hudson Valley...I wonder... if I called 9-1-1 and said it was an emergency, if they would deliver it...

good afternoon one and all......Hope that everyone's Sunday is going nice, relaxing and lazy today.....I know mine has been so far....I got the opportunity to actually go out dancing and have a great time last night, so I just had to say to hell with the books for a night......So Jaded as long as I can squeeze some fun in that way, maybe I will not have to worry about the brain being dead the day of the finals......I may kill a few brain cells with some of the alcohol, but maybe not enough that it would hurt my test.....<grin>..........oh yes, the comment about being good with the hands.......I am very sure that you are great with those hands.......I mean after all you know your way around a kitchen, therfore you know how to heat things us...............<evil grin>..........as well as.........oh no, I think that I will leave the rest of that thought in my brain........

I hope that everyone has a great holiday season, just be careful on the roads.....especially you guys up north with all the snow and ice that you all get............

God I remember those days. When I first started college I wanted to graduate as soon as possible. Then there weren't any limits on the number of credits you could carry a semester. I was registered as a part time student and carrying the same number of a credits a full time student carried. I worked a full time job to support the family. Even did side jobs on the weekend to pay for school. I actually carried a note book in my pocket (I know nerd... ) to tell me were I had to be on what day. God I was a walking zombie and looked like death warmed over... Not that the looks got any better after college... Shit there is absolutely no way in hell I could do that now days...

Hell now days I have a difficult time in the morning remembering if I just took my multi vitamin or my viagra. The girls at work tell me when I screw up...

Cooks are very creative... I not only know my way around the kitchen, but also the bedroom, on top of the living room couch, floor, dining room table, kneeling, standing, shower, facing forward, facing backward, doing a hand stand, well I think you've got the picture... Just something you can pull up in your mind when you go to sleep tonight... : eek:
