..hay ya'll..

I would usually post a bump...but I know ya'll are just busy...the fires still burn in Georgia...the rest of the place sure could use a long light rain to soak the ground some...

...at a recent beer party for the men after work on Friday, one of them happen to show up with his wife. She was a little cute thang from Alabama....folks were enjoying themselves and the beer flowed freely when I decided to say a few words to this southern sweetie...I said hi and she, not in a good mood as her husband was well on the way to getting drunk, interrupted me and told me in no uncertain terms she didn't want to talk to any of her husband's yankee friends...

...after I stopped laughing, I turned on the southern accent and let her know that there are more occupation troops still in Georgia than in 'bama cuase the war ain't quite over down in the peach state...we had such a good time after that.....

...side note...I am not totally sure...but I suspect we southerners can hold our beer a bit better than our northern counterparts...and we don't waste milk on our grits either....

Ya'll have a good day... :)

So who's up for meeting for lunch, dinner or after in Atlanta?

Who's gonna de-lurk, hmmmm?

Just bumpin the thread back up to see if it would generate any new action.

Sorry Geoff, won't be able to make it. Taking the family to Disneyland for the very first time. I must say though that it is a very nice offer.

...we might have been neighbors...I lived in Allbenny...got kin in Fitzgerald and a niece in Americus...

...when Georgia Power was stringing the main power lines, they weren't going to put the power to the houses if the wire's were pulled from the houses so I stayed ahead of them and reattached them to the houses. Most folks couldn't offord an electrician if there was one available so I figured I might have helpped a few folks out...it was nice how everyone pulled together, don't see that much up here..

...thirty miles from Americus?...all I can think of is a few thousand acreas of peanut fields broken buy a few pecan orchards...<smile>... :rose: :rose:

Sorry..was just reading back through and caught this post...I'll send you a pm and tell you where. I went through Americus Friday night on my way home from Alabama. It looks alot better than the last time I saw it. I am glad to see the Windsor Hotel was spared. I used to live in Americus and worked at the Windsor for over a year. A beautiful piece of history.
