Carson is done.

Carson is done.

But is he well-done?

Stick a fork in him and see.

Ha! You're posting a MSNBC article to show what Carson did say, and following that up with the statement that MSNBC is misquoting him. What?

The quote itself is probably accurate - it's probably what he did say. However, Rachel Mad Dog is then claiming Carson's personal expression of belief is some kind of legal opinion, which it is not. He's a doctor, not a lawyer.

But it does amount to putting a religious test on being president of the United States, now doesn't it? Try not to be mealy-mouthed about this.

No, it does NOT. It is one person expressing a personal opinion.

What part of the US Constitution is incompatible with Islam? Let's get that changed right away, because the Constitution is for We the People, and some of us are Muslim.

Sharia Law is incompatible with the US Constitution. For instance, laws against blasphemy violate the First Amendment, as do laws favoring Muslims over "infidels." Stoning to death or cutting off limbs would be considered to be cruel and unusual punishment. You can probably come up with other examples if you think about it.

Oh, get a grip. The Old Testament of the Bible is inconsistent with the U.S. Constitution too.

I had forgotten how "this way" you could be (well, no I hadn't, actually).

You're right about the OT. The NT also, but neither of these are laws, while Sharia Law is.

Are you seriously trying to claim there is no such thing as Biblical law?
Canon law vs secular law. Most self-styled religious organizations have rules for their community. The Vatican has had its own legal structure for what, 1500 years? If a religion rules your community then you had better follow those rules, or 1) leave, 2) suffer, or 3) revolt. Secular law hopefully overrides canon law, sharia law, cult doctrine, etc.

If credulous suckers voluntarily place themselves under the jurisdiction of sky pilots then more power to them -- they deserve what they get. You want to live under sharia law or the Book of Discordia or Scientology? Groovy. Hey, I have a bridge to sell you...

Huckabee only had a 100 grand left in the coffers. And as for Carson, how the hell did he find 14,000 morons to vote for him? He acted like he was on quaaludes at every debate I've seen him in.

Hopefully, the Donald will drop out because he didn't get first in Iowa.

He's not a career politician or a bigoted asshat.

When did he ever say that? He did say this: http://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/carson-backs-religious-test-presidency-despite-constitution
and is being misquoted by MSNBC.

And, I agree that Islam is not compatible with the US Constitution.
He's quoted in the link you posted. That the religion of the person should be one of the determining factors. i.e., a religious test.

And Christian fundamentalism isn't any more compatible with the Constitution than Islamic fundamentalism.

Ah, I see, you didn't read my post even though you quoted it. I didn't say that Carson said there is a religious test. I said that he thinks there should be a religious test.

As for Sharia law, there are plenty of Muslims who don't think Sharia should be the law of the land.

It does, for the most part, in the US. Of course there are a lot of laws that religious zealots have gotten passed and more they want based on their belief that they have the right to control other people's personal lives.

There is, but it has no official standing in the US, while Sharia Law is the law of the land in some Muslim nations.
Sharia law also has no official standing in the US. In fact, it has less official standing than biblical law. There are plenty of people who want to increase the standing of biblical law, like Ted Cruz.

So, you did not even bother to read the article you posted that completely contridicted what you said. Okie dokie.

He's channeling VetteBigot.

But at least he didn't try to pass off an article from The Onion as legitimate.

Carson isn't done. He never had a fucking snowball's chance in hell from the very beginning.

To be "done" he would have had to be a contender in the first place.

He's not done, he's not a has been, he's a never was.

Yea ones that don't really have any effect on our lives here in the US where we are MUCH MUCH MUCH closer to Biblical law.
