Returning to the original thread topic, the Carson people are now claiming that Cruz and his supporters were actively flogging the rumor he was pulling out late yesterday afternoon, right before the caucuses started, in an effort to get evangelicals to switch to their presumed second choice, the pride of Calgary.

I'm not sure how much of that actually happened because Carson finished at 9 percent, which is in line with the polling. But it does reinforce the perception that Cruz is an unscrupulous scumbag.

What words do you think came out of Carson's mouth? Do you realize that what we're now discussing is Crux' campaign taking a simple statement in a CNN report that Carson was flying to Florida last night rather than New Hampshire, turning it into a statement that Carson was skipping New Hampshire and South Carolina and would have a major announcement soon so maybe Carson's supporters in Iowa should go ahead and switch to Crux while the Iowa caucus was still going on? I don't see where Carson himself said any of this--or that CNN said any of it other than Carson was flying to Florida, not New Hampshire, last night. I did see, from CBS news posted to the Internet, the text of the Crux campaign statement adding all of the rest of that stuff.

I think the next Republican debate could get quite spicy.

It wouldn't shock me if Tailgunner Ted Cruz did something like. Though, to be fair, Trump is claiming Cruz did something too and "stole" Iowa from him.
