if my reference to the "old witch" was inappropriately done, or just plain inappropriate. Just seemed she was missing and should be included somehow. So, if I need to edit, let me know. If not, some info on what he might remember would be useful now.
Thinking perhaps she sensed that he was headed for this quest and said some until-now-cryptic words.
Suggestions?

Can reach Belgium anytime now. The old Witch had the 'vision' so it would be feasible she forseen Christian's part in this curse and such. Although she cant tell specifics (like death or solution) she can give cryptic hints or little signs. She didnt see it all clearly since the future is never certain but she may have seen enough to tell Christian something was coming he'd be part of

And as for where he might have met up with her and what her behavior might have been like. If you can give me a reference in one of the other threads, a general vicinity where I might find the character used, it would be a big help.

OK I have tons to do in that thing called RL so I can't really locate the posts in the thread for you right now QC, sorry. But I can tell her, Aria ran into her in France two years ago. A traveling gypsy type woman. Old wrinkled etc. She could be ANYWHERE now, meaning its safe for you to place her where ever. Maybe she came to Christian instead of just wandering?

Its open to whatever you decide to do with her. She was typical witch material. Smart assed, wise, vague. we called her 'Old Woman" never even named her. Does this help? If not I will search through Woven Rings and locate where she was for you later tonight. Let me know, Sp

I think, since the old woman in an NPC, she can turn up anywhere for any reason. She's the kind of person, I'd imagine, not too different from the Oracle. You know, someone who shows up when they need to show up, and tells you what you need to hear (not necessarily the truth, mind you).
You could have met her in New York... maybe a blind alley you walked passed had a weird fortune telling sign you never saw before. And since then you haven't been able to find it...
Or, perhaps coming home from Burning Man you stopped to help this old lady reach her destination further, did she give you some advice? Old people needing a ride somewhere are always full of advice, especially if their drunk.
I think the point is, she'll cater to you. Make her as smart, as sweet, as sexy as you want. She's the kind of person that will change to alter the mood of the certain destined one she's meeting...

And for Heaven's sake, please land the plane. Four hours? Come on!!! Just land the freaking thing. At least I was having fun before, able to dance around Aria with a knife and whatnot, but now she killed all my good characters, and I'm left with one guy who is asleep until you touchdown.

ok up to date... Keith is asleep, aria is asleep. GM is sniffing around (literally) Ray is gloomy on the never ending flight, Cat's bein a saucy flirt with a big weapon ( teasin! ) AB's turning into a mouse with an envy issue (lol) Christian.. Well who knows QC doesnt give much info on what he's doin.. He could be thinking of all this stuff eyein' cat's top?

The thoughts are basically just flashing through his mind, taking longer to write than it is for him to have them. memories and thoughts tend to do that, even if RL, for me, anyway.
As for Kat's top, he's noteven vaguely interested in that...now what's underneath it...
Anyway. Yes, we need to land the plane. If I sit too long, I introspect until I've got eight million pages worth of nothing but introspection, which will be way too much back story to follow up.
Her, pooh and sweets, any idea of where I can blend in Darius? I don't know if I want to play him as a first person character, but I was hoping to use him to mesh Christian into the plot a little better. Seems like too many of these characters are already strongly entwined. Makes me feel like Christian is just sort of...well, hanging nearby instead of involved. I was hoping that Darius might provide a stronger link to what's happening in the main plot, be tied to Mongrel perhaps, or maybe Joseph, if Gm doesn't mind sharing a few of his plans and spotlight in that arena.

Christian is completely safe because he never reacts to Kat either in mind or in body so she isn't gonna go there unless she gets some type of hint (nudging and winking at QC)....AHEM....and I think AB might just be in for some surprises becauseI do love a good game of Kat and mouse Perhaps kat can help a bit with that..........she is a warrior as well as a 12th ranked priestess. Well since Ray hasnt posted (gonna kick him just once in the shin) Might as well use AB for something. Can always change her mind on the healing thing? Start with her face or something. I am sure I can write something??? Or we can always play twister on the plane? lol Im thinking, but since ive been cleaning all day, its a little hard here.. bear with me a moment...

Several ideas come to mind but finding the right one for Darius is a little harder than I thought. I am going over three stories in my head, looking for a loop in it where Darius could be an existant character. There were no unknowns in the Family. Woven Rings we had so many damned NPC's moving in and out throughout the story, picking one particular scene is a little tough. He needs to be linked into the story, a purpose of some kind. Kind of like those guys in "The Mummy" the Magi? Something like that.

ok off the top of my head and this might be lame or confusing, but it can be warped to anyone's desires...

Darius is an older vampire, both when changed and in years walking this earth cursed. (mid 30's perhaps when he was changed?) He could be Christian's 'father' his creator, vanished some time ago for no apparent reason other than whats known to him for reasons (leave it blank, use it later to think of something). He was visited by this witch, as old as he is, it is possible he has some knowledge of this book, or this supposed spell that changes vampires back to human. (That was the reason it was saught after in Woven rings, that spell)

Anyway, Darius is on his way to Belgium. A foresight perhaps or told by the old woman where to find this book. Ordered to see it destroyed or aid those ring bearers in that. Christian could have been visited by this old witch while out on the town with his ex (Sorry I forgot her name) They stopped somewhere or ran into her as pooh suggested. Perhaps the old witch foretold of troubles to come to bother Christian and his mate? This would tie in Darius to the ring bearers and Darius to Christian. Just a thought.

Hmmm...ideas

You know there was a convent and a monastary both specializing int he ancient arts when Kat was turned.......She was at Mount St. Micheala for women (the chrystal palace) Perhaps he could be a druid/priest from around the same time from the other place. Perhaps the priests trained him in some of the arts as well. I'm sure I could come up with a way for the witch and I to have met a time or two and perhaps she is one of the ancients. Not a vampire but a present day elder of the holy orders sent to lead us in the right directions. That would leave some opening to intro darius and perhaps give him a bit of an intuitive thing unexplained connection to Kat. Just an idea

What if Darius is the Endgame?
I don't know what you have in store for his history yet, so it might work with this idea, it might not. I'm just tossing things out there.
It has been said before that the purpose of all of this, (despite the introduction of an evil character who has blinded most of the hero's) is the destruction of the book. No one has said just how the book is to be destroyed, it's been hinted at about a tablet somewhere in Ireland, but no one knows where that is in particularly.
It could be Darius? He knows how to destroy the book. Lance knows how to prepare the book for destruction, but Darius knows specifically how (and where) to destroy it.

And... since the final page (which is of some importance, because Mongrel is looking after it even now) is in hiding, Darius could be keeping it safe and comfortable, waiting for Lance to pick it up.
Of course, this idea would mean that Darius would have to wait for a bit before he's introduced. Not too long, but there's still a matter of getting the rest of the book out of the evil Wizard's hands before we can even move onto the final page.

It also means Darius is a lot older... over a thousand years, and that he knew Gwendolyn, so she put him in as part of the destruction spell, or at least told him enough so that he knows how to do it. It would also make him good friends with Lance, and rival aquaintances with both Willow and Mongrel.

Hee hee, talk about putting him right in the middle of things. Just an idea though. I've got Lance doing so much, thought I could lift some of his weight off and hand it over. If you don't want it though, that's fine. I understand. It's not exactly an easy place to just drop a new character in, and pretend he's been with us the whole time.
It's yours though, whatever you decide I'm sure will be fine.

You've put more thought into him than I have...heh-heh. That's only right, though, given that you have a much better understanding of the story.
I think what poohlive is suggesting could work. Especially given what would be his importance to the plotline. It would only makes sense that he not be involved in the story unbtil now. Why would anyone need to know his importance, or even his existence, given that knowledge would jeopardize his place in the scheme of things. If others know, he is vulnerable.
As for him being Christian's "maker," well, Isabelle was, but he was her companion for many years prior, and I mentioned nothing of his past or hers before hand. In fact, I just mentioned him in that one flashback period. He could have sensed that Christian would play some role in what was to come and requested she do so. I would rather have it set up that he felt Christian would "make" the ring-bearer, and that he be expecting Kayla to be its carrier. Don't ask me why, but I'm getting a vibe that this works better. If for no other reason than it makes sense that he might be trying to get a hold of the bearer once he realizes the end is near. If you disagree, let me know. It's your show, not mine.

I've been in this story ever since the beginning, and I have to to have some sort of solid plan. Think about it, everything cool I have ever done just involved Lance or Mongrel just showing up and seeing what happens.

I think, as a group, we've all had thoughts about the end scene and what it supposed to happen. I'm fairly certain that Sweet P has thought about it, I know I have (although in my thoughts I usually have a couple of cool ideas, and then some almost-cool back ups in case anything or ANYONE screws things up).
Definitely ask SweetP about her plans. She has some things she needs to discuss, some things we've already decided were going to be in the final scene (like the locaiton, and the boulder and such).
I have some things too, but they were mostly my own design, and I don't really want to pursue them now that this is your little thing. If you need any help though, I'm more than willing to splooge my wisdom (it's a word... what, you don't believe me? Look it up)
I put down some ground rules for the beginning of the end, but other than that it's basically open. The only things I stated before, was that Lance had to clean the book... (it's complicated, he just needs to absorb it into his body to wash away the sin, I said complicated, didn't I) Once it is "cleaned" it's destruction can begin. Also the ringbearers all need to be present, each of their strengths adding to the whole... (all that b.s. you know)
And the book needs to be whole, including the last page.
Ok, I think I've given you quite a few barriers, sorry about that, but despite it looking like there's not a lot to work with, there really is. You can be as creative as you want, and I know you will be.

Note to all: the hunt isnt that important to take all this space and time, diverts from the plot, as was pointed out to me. So I figured I will just move Aria along and everyone can catch up so they can depart for france. Ray hasnt been able to post often being busy, not sure how busy everyone else is. Though I do not mind waiting for each movement and giving each person a chance to interact in each scene, this is taking forever for a simple hunt.

You don't have to go along with what I am doing, I am just moving aria along to get the story moving. Since Ray can't post often and has given me permission to move his character around, I dont think he'd mind much if Firegirl took him along with her.
