Catgirls

He suffers abandonment issues and doesn't want to be abandoned again.

XD Where do these views on orange cats come from?

But yes, he's an orange boy, with dark orange fur to purfectly match her red hair.
Then it seems like he'd absolutely help this woman. After all, he wants to seem useful to her so she doesn't abandon him, so if anything, he's eager to help even when she DOES have her cane.

I've had two orange boys and they're lovebugs but gosh are they dumb. The orange girl was diabolical.

When I was a kid we had an orange cat who was so loveable and stupid that it got him killed before he was two. 😬

However, my current orange kitty is probably the second smartest cat I've had. He's also the cat with the longest list of fears, and the most dog brained cat I've ever had. He's my little, "Mom where'd you go? You were gone forever!" cat, while also being the easiest to train of any cat I've known.

So, I guess I can kinda see it, sometimes. XD

There is a higher % of male orange cats in captivity than in the wild because the same instincts that make them more personable and thus adoptable also get them killed. IIRC they're still trying to figure out how exactly that's tied to the orange genes.

Male orange cats are more likely to carry the calico gene. I wonder if the two things are related.

But yeah, if wild orange cats are likely to go snuggle a dog that might want to make a meal of it... I can see the dangers there.

Just rolled past 5000 words, so my worries about the word count proved to be unnessary. Writing it like sex between two humans, with dome nthro and feline references worked in. So easy to unfod a plotline much like I commonly do in my striaght human stories. Just finished the vaginal sex(her first human cock), so now the MMC is tasting his first anthro infused cram pie cocktail. Anal sex seems inevitable.

Not sure beyond that- do I go straught to HEA, or a bit more jeopardy, or perhaps she figures out how to fuck his ass?
