Having an older sister who came out in 1973, before the Sydney Gay Mardi Gras was even thought of, I can definitely attest to that.

My latest story, Thorns and All, has a lot of banter, some references that made me smile, and a sister who is intentionally kinda mean to her brother, because that's how she expresses affection. I didn't think this story was necessarily that funny, maybe just a few chuckles, but most of the comments were about the comedy. I was thoroughly surprised. It culminated in this comment:

"So many zingers, so much fun!! You really have a talent for wordplay, and comedy. It was really a delightful story to read. I loved every part of it, the comedic banter, the mom (who was a total hoot), and the tenderness, too. Congratulations on a truly well written story!!!!"

That made my day. This stuff is why I post my writing. I write in order to feel emotional depth, but I post here to try to make people's days a little brighter.
