I think it's a pretty accurate opinion, from what I've seen so far.
 
I'm too new to have any crushes yet, but you all are very amusing :) It's nice to see intelligent conversation on a site like this.

This is why I flirt all the time. I want all the women that haven't been buttheads to me to feel wanted and desired....they might not always feel that way in their normal lives, so if I can bring a smile to a woman's face because I displayed some interest and desire for her, it is a good thing. I'll write that I stalk a woman to let her know she is desirable. I'll describe her in the one word thread using a zillion words joined together to show I see and pay attention to her.....that is my style of flirting.

That is different than a crush though.....It seems when I finally DO have a crush on someone, I have THE worst timing imaginable....at least 4 or 5 times, after establishing some sort of chatting back and forth, by the time the weekend is over with, the next time I send a message the woman has already decided to start a relationship with someone else....

I'll send nasty, dirty, descriptive messages to those that write me and seem interested....but I have found that rarely is the interest on anything besides the written topic.....so I don't have many crushes anymore, and have never had any woman ever tell me she had a crush on me......

I guess in that way, it IS like high school....

From what you all are saying it's very hit or miss, and mostly miss for people?
I suppose it's more difficult for men because they so outnumber the women, so they may have to do or say something especially memorable or eye-catching?

Exactly. All you have to do is look at some of the threads where an attractive woman posts and watch how many guys post immediately after her.
 
ah but sometimes there's some guys that every woman wants or in my case those guys that even though i do anything to get their attention don't notice me at all.


that's when it sucks the most.

It happens both ways and yes I agree that sucks if you have your heart set on someone only to find they don't even notice you.

Agreed. It almost would be better if they had not responded, that way you can think they just hadn't read it yet.
