So can I have Noor do the background check on the next person that I get involved with online? Lol. Sorry Noor but I just couldn't resist.

So far I have found that online relationships are very similiar to rl. There can be misunderstandings, disagreements, lies, hurt, upsets, outside forces beyond your control that effect the relationships, even make up sex :)

While online relationships don't share the physical risks of rl they also don't have the same benefit of looking someone in the eyes, holding both their hands and saying "what the hell is going on?" So resolving problems is more difficult in some ways. However it is probably better sometimes that you can't really wring their neck!

In my life, on line or rl, I am looking for real people, "warts and all", and that is what they get with me, Although I don't actually have any warts, I have my stuff, just like everyone else, and I am fairly open about it. Maybe my online ones are self selecting in that fashion.

I can usually tell if something wrong online and it makes me uneasy, and believe me, you don't want me feeling that way.

As far misrepresenting themselves, usually people can not consistantly keep up misrepresentations and you should feel it. People lying to themselves is another problem, but that happens in real life too.

I concur. Honesty is critical. I believe that if you click together in OL, you will in RL.

Perhaps..

I should add here that these good online relationships are few and far between.

In my 16 months online there are only two I have 'clicked' with to the extent I would want to meet in real life.
