Darmus By Night

Valdimer

Taking her hand, Val walked beside Thorne as they made thier way to the cabin. Pulling the door open, he let her walk through, and then followed afterwards. Pulling out a chair for her, and then seating himself, he looked to Thorne. "I must go out and feed soon, I can feel some of the blood drained away from the healing of my hand, but I was curious, what do you have planned when we incounter this dragon? Have you prepared any spells? If we travel at a decent pace, we should reach the dragon by sundown, maybe later." he said, giving her a calm look...........

Thorne:

Taking a seat, Thorne looked across the distance at Valdimer before replying. "I've planned out several different forms of dealing with the dragon. Alot of dragons fall prey to sleeping spells, and that is handy. There are also several memory erasing spells that will allow us to escape without this dragon realizing that there is an item missing. Can I ask you what is so dangerous about you feeding? I have always wondered about vampires, I'm sorry to pry."

Cervantes:

Giving Val an icy look Cervantes let Thorne's hair fall free of his fingers as she pulled away. He stood there quietly as Val walked her into the hut, glaring at him the entire time. Then he turned his attention over to the horse, Talesin. "You don't like me, and I don't like you, but you know what?" Cervie hissed to the horse. "You're tied to his tree while she's in there, warm, in front of a fire... Alone... With me... Yeah, you know what I am getting at... Don't you?" Cervie grinned evily, staring into the horses eyes.

Talesin:

OOC: Yes, the horse

Chewing on some grass, Talesin looked at Cervantes. The weird man thing seemed to be trying to taunt him. Tal then reached out with his head and grabbed hold of Cervantes' cloak with his teeth. Pulling back sharply, as Thorne had left him loosely tied, Tal gave the cloak a sharp jerk. In truth he prefered being outside, and was glad that there were other people around to protect his rider.

Cervantes:

"Yeah?! That nips your arse don't it?! I'm gonna see to it that Thorne learns well and good some mighty bloody, dirty sex! Hah!" Tugging at his cloak, a bit of it ripped of between Tal's teeth. Cervie stepped back, out of reach, grinning wildly.

Thorne:

Looking up from her conversation with Valdimer, Thorne heard Cervantes voice. She got up and stuck her head out the door to see him taunting Talesin. "Cervantes! He's a horse, not a damn demon, stop harrassing poor Talesin." Feeling like she was dealing with a fight between two children, she went and sat back down, shaking her head slightly.

Cervantes:

With a huff, Cervantes turned away from the horse and walked into the hut and sat down across from Thorne. "...He started it... Bloody horse..." He looked up at the ceiling for a moment, then back to Thorne with a charming smile.

Thorne:

Starting to laugh at the absurdity, Thorne looked at Cervantes. "He started it? Cervantes, Talesin is a horse, he doesn't talk, much less argue" Thorne continued to chuckle at the thought of a horse starting an argument as she looked at Cervantes with a bemused smile.

Cervantes:

"I'm beginning to think coconuts are more the way to go these days..." Cervie muttered as he played with the torn fabric of his cloak.

Thorne:

Looking at Cervantes, Thorne's expression turned quizical at his statement. She didn't get him, he seemed so scattered, and yet so determined. Oh well, if Valdimer was right, it was going to be less than the purposed month that she was with them, and she doubted that they would stick around after that. She'd collect her money, and go onto her dream.

Cervantes:

Sighing, Cervantes flopped his arms down on the table before him, makeing a nest to rest his head. He kept it propped up on his chin so he could look at Thorne. "So, whats it like being part dragon?"

Thorne's eyebrow shot up. "I'd assume rather like being human, but then again, there is no way I'm part dragon, considering I knew my parents. Besides, I've never had any ability to show I'm part dragon."

Cervantes:

"Save for your magical talents of course..." Cervantes said dryly. "And maybe you didn't know your parents as well as you would like to think..."

Thorne:

"Humans can have magical abilities you know. Besides, how can a person be part dragon and not know it? Surely there would be traces of the latent nature of a person within them." Thorne looked at Cervantes, not knowing what he was up to, but determined to watch her step.

Kiahra:

Kiahra walks up to Thorne.. And says YOur protected from cervie dragon girl Kiahra says this with a warm smile to her...

I know I have not interduced my self.. My name is Kiahra.. I'm here to give you warmth and good nights sleep .. for your adventure.. she says this all as she hands Thorne a amunlet. for protecting from cervie.....

Kiahra whispers let there be fleas in his bed tonight!!!!

Thorne:

" Hello Kiahra, my name is Thorne, very pleased to meet you."

Taking the amulet carefully, Thorne examined it closely, curious as to how it could protect from Cervantes. He didn't seem the type to be warded off by small magics, and he was persisting on calling her part dragon. She turned to Kiahra again and smiled. "Thank you for this, but might I ask exactly how it works, and what are the technical terms of what it does? I'm sorry to pry, but I guess you could call it proffesional curiousity."

That and the fact she wanted to know what any magic around her was before she activated it, for safety in working her own magic.

Cervantes:

"Hello, I AM sitting right here Kiahra!" Cervie shot as he sat right up in his seat. He eyed the witch sharply. "Thorne, you won't need it. If you're so bloody irritated by me I will leave ya alone. Tell me right here, right now... And we'll be done with this noncense..."

Orion had stood there on his horse awaiting a response to his question for quite some time. "Alright don't everyone jump up at once." Orion waited a few more minutes, "Ok, it doesn't take a mindreader, I'll go looking myself."

Orion had been surveying the area for hours to find himself near a clearing with a cave, "I thought I buried something close to here. Hold on, where am I? I don't remember any caves." Orion dismounted and entered the cave. "A torch would be a great idea now." Orion suddenly crashed through a hole in the gound and landed in a well lit chamber.

He looked around and realized he was in some sort of treasure chamber. A message was inscribed into the wall: "Enjoy!!" He walked over to a suit of armor and tried it on, "hmmm perfect fit." Behind the armor he found a broadsword, "This will be fine. I better tell the others."

Minutes later Orion road toward the group with his new finds. "Hey all, I found this in a cave just over the hill. There's enough gold and weapons for all of us."

Thorne:

Looking at Cervantes, Thorne turned calm and thought for a second. She didn't want to hurt his feelings, for all she knew, he was just trying to be nice, but still, it was difficult to deal with all the comments, and staring. "Cervantes, I am not annoyed by you per say, I'm more annoyed by the fact that you saw, or still see, me as something to be conquered. I'm human, or if you are correct, I'm part dragon, with thoughts and emotions. I chose this life for myself because I don't do well with other people, and the way you were always around me is very disconcerting for someone who's lived her life from 8 on with a very solitary exsistence. Please forgive me for snapping at you, but I don't know How to handle people when they come on too strong." With that, Thorne stood, blushing and walked out the door. She was making her way towards Talesin and her bags, the Amulet dropped onto the chair where she had been sitting, forgotten.

Cervantes:

Taking Thorne's words in, Cervie sat there for a moment as she stood and walked out. "Woah..." He sighed to himself as he stood too. He made for the door, following after her, but not like he had before. "Alright, you can't go, you really can't..." He called out as he watched her. It looked as though she was packing her things to leave. "We'll be left a mage short... And I really don't want to have to... Er... Never mind that, but we really do need you, and its not just cause you have a body on you Ba... Thorne... Val's gonna be so stubborn about his god damn armor that it looks like a fight is inevitable... You see... It turns out that the dragon we have to face is the mate of the very dragon Val... Wears as armor... If that wasn't the stupidest thing..." Cervie sighed. "I'm not even THAT arrogent you know... Well, in some ways I am, but not about wearing some girls ex-lover for a shirt... If you get my drift. Well, anyway, um... Please, we... Um... We... Nnnneee-nnnneed your help..." He seemed to stutter over the last part. He stood there and flopped his arms at his sides, seeming just a tough pathetic as he did.

Thorne:

Looking at Cervantes, Thorne stopped packing up her gear. "If I stay, will you promise to at least TRY to think of me as a person, instead of something to get into the sack?" She looked at him standing there, looking slightly pathetic, and thought he looked a bit younger than he came off usually. She wondered what the "let's not go there" was about.

KyLissa

OOC: sorry again, couldn't get into Lit.. the problems seem sorted now so I should be able to contribute more regularly.

IC:
Frustrated with the comings and going of everyone, and Cervantes assumption she was a vampire, KyLissa stalked off with FireHeart in tow.

Tying FireHeart some distance away from the cabin and the sounds of these strange folk she sat beneath a large tree and thought.
A strange party, a strange one indeed. A Magess, a were-hyena, a vampire, a witch, a zombie, a boy who seemed to have a way with animals, a messenger who was both boy and man, and herself, a mongrel blend of two magics, the appearance of a vampire but not the inclination, and an affinity with the creatures of the night, an affinity borne by the blood of her father, but destined never to bond with any particular one. Her father, bonded by blood to a wolf, able only to talk to wolves looked upon her gift as if it were a perversion. Her mother was ashamed, ashamed that Kylissa could walk the day and could change to her vampire looks at will - and had not the least inclination to blood.
Deciding to go on as she had started, KyLissa knew she could out-hunt many of those who remained in the cabin. Questing out she found the dozing mind of a deer. Lulling it further she stalked it, and leaping upon its back, with a powerful twist she broke its neck cleanly. Taking out her belt knife, she honed it and quickly gutted the deer. Hoisting it onto her back she returned to FireHeart.
Soon she reached FireHeart, and loading the deer onto his back, she became aware of the distant smell of cooking human flesh.
Wondering who would stoop to that vile practice, she hurried back to the cabin.
Hanging the Deer on a hook designed for the purpose on a tree near the cabin, KyLissa quickly cut a decent size chunk of meat off, enough to feed everyone.
Stepping closer to the light in the doorway, she heard the hungry rumblings of a nearby wolf. Stepping inside the cabin, she immediatly offered the meat to the witch, her guest gift to the home. With a quiet murmer she let the witch know there was more outside on the tree if needed.

Cervantes:

"Yeah... Fine... You're no cheep lay, thats obvious already. But that doesn't mean that I'm gonna give up on you entirely. But, yes, I will lay off a bit and not be so strong about it... Hrmph... It usually works though... I wonder if all half-dragons are so hard to get..." He trailed off as he talked until it was nearly a mere muttering of jumbled words.

Thorne:

Thorne glared at Cervantes and picked up her bag, moving to go. "I mean it Cervantes, I want to be treated with some amount respect. If I am part dragon, that's fine, but I'm still Thorne Bloodstone, a person, and that should be first, not secondary, to the idea of a trophy for your bed. I'm not just someone to try and get into your bed, or deal with a dragon, damn it! I've got more behind me than that, and if you don't start acting like it, I might make an exception of my dislike of violence and throw a punch at you!"
Thorne looked at him, her hair a mess, her eyes shining with the fire of anger, and her form showing under her cloak. Years of working with horses gave her the muscle to back up the threat of punching him, and her expression showed that she just might not be bluffing this time.

Cervantes:

"Calm down Thorne..." Cervie sighed as he stepped up to her. "After all... Fightings not allowed in the forest... Remember?" He said with a knowing smirk as he took her hands in his, stopping her from actively packing her things.
