Darmus By Night

Thorne:

OOC: LOL! Yeah, worse than my two little hellions of Godkids. Considering I spoil 'em rotten, That's saying something! It does give a whole new meaning to Poison Pen Letters

IC:
Nodding in agreement with Val, Thorne reguarded the messenger, unsure what Val meant by "boy" but figured it was part of the swirling magics around the figure. "I think a little time compared to a wound is fairly minor."

Matthias the Messenger

Looking at Thorn with a freindly smile on his face. "Please, my lady, take me to the one who has the quest. The one that was to put a party together for a quest. If it is you then the message is for you and you alone. If you are not the one, then..... you have seen what happens to those that it is not ment for. I have no knoledge of what is in the letter I just deliver them.. Now please take me the leader of your party." voicing the last with a demanding tone, yet with a kind smile on his face.

Valdimer

Valdimer nearly fell over from laughing so hard. "The one that put the party together??? Why, dear boy, that would be ME and Cervantes....and if you think he is our leader????" Val fell back into a fit of laughter. "Child, the only thing he could lead would be a flock of whores to a waiting pond, or better yet, to an enourmously giant sized bed!" Still laughing, he looked back to the boy, "Come with me then, I shall take you to our...."leader". Shaking his head, Val started off toward the cabin........

Thorne:

Sighing in frustration, Thorne walked fast, catching up to Valdimer, the wood left forgotten in the clearing as she thought on this messenger. She wondered just what was going on here, and if it had anything to do with that damn dragon. She also thought it more likely that it had to do with the part of Cervantes' personality Valdimer had addressed. She concluded that it was more likely that Cervantes had ticked yet Another person off.

Valdimer

Picking up his sword as he and Thorne headed for the cabin, (Thought I forgot that, didncha? ;)), he pushed through the small part of the forest. Making his way out, he sheathed his sword, and cupped his hands over his mouth, and shouted... " Ohhhhhh fearless leader of ours!!! There is something amiss in these here woods! My worthless soul can not bear to answer this boy's questions! He needs our galiant and wonderous leader!!!" Valdimer laughed, loudly after he shouted for Cervantes........

Thorne

Giving in and having a good laugh (actually, yes I had) at Valdimer's farce. "Yes "Fearless Leader" do come out." She continued to laugh quietly as she went over to her pack, bringing out her grooming tools again and looking at Valdimer. "I also noticed you didn't groom out your horse, want some help?"

Valdimer

Shaking his head and laughing, he made his way over to his horse, which was close to Thorne's. "Actually, yes, yes I would." he said, giving her a smile as he began to take off the saddle, saddle bags, and pieces of armor on his horse. Looking back to Thorne as he pulled out his own grooming brush, he said, " I'm sorry for being so straight forward back there......I didnt mean to make you uncomfortable." He began to brush the horse's neck, feeding it some grain as he did so............

Thorne:

Peeking over the horse's shoulder, Thorne offered Valdimer a slight smile "It's all right, truth be told, I've never been exactly comfortable around people anyway. I'm better around horses than anything." With that she held out her hand slowly infront of the horses nostrils before slowly running her hand back over the neck of the mount. "What's the name of this loyal mount?" she extracted her hoof pick from the pack of tools and slowly ran her hand down the horses leg, urging the hoof to come up and allow her to clean it. She got the horse's leg to come up, placing her knee under the hoof and holding it as she began cleaning carefully around the frog of the hoof.

Ooc: I believe the name thing is my fault. I purposely play my character as "special" if you know what I mean, and he is horribly with long names. He simply shortens them up, instead of taking forever to spit the long one out.

"Just one more," Rocky said to the squirrel, who cracked another acorn. Pleased, Rocky chewed on it heartily. He had apparently loved acorns all his life, but no one had given them to him. That wasn't fair at all. Acorns were the best food in the world.
Why, everyone else should get to eat them too.
He looked up, "Cervie, come and take a look at..." he stopped.
Cervie wasn't there.
No one was there.
Where had they all gone?
Had they left him? No, that was impossible, Cervie always waited for everyone. But, he was always waiting. It seemed as if Cervie had left him.
He had to find his friend, and everyone else.
Quickly, he looked at the squirrel, "Can you find Cervie?"
The squirrel shook his head. A good animal when it came to finding nuts, not finding people. He looked up at the ass, but he simply shook his head.
What Rocky needed was a tracking animal. Like a puppy doggy or a hyena or something.
He looked back on the bridge.
Ahhhh!!!
A wolf would do just fine. Rocky walked over to him, as he was not working on a dead man's thigh.
"Hello Wolfie, my name is Rocky. I'm sorry to disturb you in the middle of dinner, but I seemed to have lost the people I'm with, could you help?"
The wolf gave him a sharp growl, but then walked closer. He whispered to Rocky.
"You want cooked meat? Yeah, no problem. I'm sure we can cook you a huge piece of meat."
The wolf tore a piece of the man's flesh, and drug it to Rocky. He looked at it, as his stomach seemed to spill, but nontheless wrapped it up and put it in his knapsack. A small price to pay. He got on his mule, with his squirrel friend on his shoulder, still nibbling on an acorn.
"Lead the way!"
In no time they were at the old cabin. Rocky had found a poor little bluejay on the way, one that had lost his mother, so when he finally made it up there was a wolf, an ass, a squirrel, a small bird fluttering around them.
And to top it all off, Rocky, with a huge smile on his face.
He loved animal friends, although Cervie never let him keep them. Cervie didn't like animals too much. He didn't know why though, animals were such good friends.
At least animals didn't make fun of him. To animals, he was the smart person. To everyone else...
Rocky looked at the Wolf.
"There's a fire inside, I'll get your dinner started right away."
The wolf licked his chops as if to agree.
"Everyone else, go make a nice little place to sleep for tonight. We can all have a sleep over under the stars!"
They all seemed to like it, and moved to a nice grassy place in the small field, grabbing blankets and things from the donkey's assorted saddlebags.
Rocky put the meaty piece over the huge fire inside. He wasn't exactly sure how long human was supposed to cook for, but he was sure that it wouldn't take long. The wolf simply wanted a warm meal.
Rocky came back outside, waiting for one side to cook. He looked at the rest of the group, they seemed to be in some discussion. It was probably about grown up things which would only confuse him. He didn't mind though, when things confused him he just did what he does best.
Cook!

Valdimer

"Stonewall is his name. I gave it to him, well, because that is what he reminds me off. A stone wall. In the face of danger, or possible death, this mount has never failed me, never kicked me off, nor ran away. He's a good mount, and I wouldnt trade him for anything." he said, giving Stonewall a pat on the neck, and feeding him a few apples. Looking down the road, Val noticed Rocky coming, a slew of animals in tow. Giving a smile, and shakeing his head, he nodded to Rocky. "That boy, I swear....through all the things Cervantes puts him through, the way he treats him sometimes......and yet he stays. You gotta admire that." He watched Rocky move happily along, and waved to him when he looked his way. Looking back to Thorne, Val moved a bit closer to her, brushing the horse's back. "I think that you'll be more comfortable around people, especially after this quest. Hell, if you can servive me and Cervantes, you can survive anything." Val said, smiling...........

Thorne:

Tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, Thorne laughed and shook her head. "I've been around people before, I just don't really know how to behave around them. With horses, it's easy, common respect, a gentle hand, and a kind word. With humans, there are all these different patterns. As for Stonewall here not throwing you, he trusts you, and knows that your willing to care for him. That is something Cervantes will never have with the horse he rides. Look at the animal if he's on it. A horse moves differently with a rider that is trusted." She looked up at Valdimer and moved on to the other hooves, careful to clean all the muck out of the hooves. "I'm actually suprised, you seem to take really good care of his hooves, which is good. 'No Hoof, No Horse' as my father used to say."

Valdimer

"He is a war horse, after all. It comes from gruff military training." he said, the last bit, in a sarcastic tone. "I got him, hmmm, when I was in the Armor Clad wars. King Korg of Browning gave him to me, as a token of appreciation. God, that was years ago........"he trailed off, his thoughts going back to the war.

*In Val's thoughts*

"Come on!!! We have them on the run!" Valdimer yelled, his sword held high. Looking to his troops, and band of his friends that had joined in the battle. He watched as his elven friend, Florin, lodged fireball after fireball, then to acidic type arrows, into the ranks of the Armor Clad. The dark armored soldiers fell, parts of the ranks falling completly. But yet, even though the Armor Clad fell back, they still gave quite a struggle. Valdimer brought his sword down, cleaving the armor into pieces, the empty shell falling to the ground. Another came, and Val brought his sword up, taking off the helmet of one, watching as the energy that filled the armor escaped into the morning air. Fire burned in the City of Browning behind him, and Val could hear cries of rage as the king, Korg, fought with all his might......

Val snapped out of his trance, and shook his head. "I'm sorry, sometimes I just get caught in my thoughts...." He let out a sigh, and returned to grooming his horse.

Thorne:

Watching the emotions play over Valdimer's face, Thorne worked on the final hoof before letting the horse stand on all fours again, she then got out her comb and went to work on the horse's mane. "He's built like a warhorse, strong and solid, but he also shows a mellow temperment that would reflect gently handling."

Valdimer

"Yep, he be as gentle as a wood sprite, once you get to know him." he said, patting Stonewall on the side. Letting Thorne finish what little grooming was left, Val went to the armor and saddle of the horse, and began the tedious task of shining. " If there is one thing I hate to do, it would be this....speaking of witch, my own armor could use a buffing." he said, taking a look at his own trail worn green dragon scale armor........

Thorne:

Cocking her head to the side she looked over the horse at Valdimer as she moved to groom out the tail. "Why not just get an antitarnish spell put on it? Such things exsist you know."

Valdimer

"Then that would defeat the purpose of putting one's hard work into it." he said, winking at Thorne. "An antitarnish spell would definatly work, but then I couldnt say that I did this myself, be it good or bad." he finished, continuing to polish the horse's armor. "Besides, doing this gives me time to think, focus my mind on things." he added, putting the saddle down, and begining to work on the armor of the horse.......

Cervantes:

A strong scent in the air distracted Cervie for nearly an hour as he scoured the surrounding area. "Vixen?" He questioned the air about him as he walked slowly, scenting as he went. It was similar, but diferent. He began to think about his child, the boy he'd never gotten to see and a lump rose in his throat. Eventually he found himself back on the main path, Rocky was just ahead of him, on his ass, with several other forest animals in tow. Stepping up toward Rocky purposefully, Cervie blocked him off. "You're gonna let them go before we push on tomorow, now arn't you boy?!" He didn't even wait for an answer though... Stomping on down the path he muttered about 'mangie animals. He stopped in front of the boy messenger who stepped out infront of HIM. "And what the fuck do you want?" Cervie shot as the boy only smiled and handed Cervie the letter. Taking it up and unrolling it, a pendent slipped free, the chain caught in Cervies hand. He read slowly then looked down at the pendant. Suddenly the letter burst into flames and was eaten to ash in mere seconds. Sniffing, Cervie looked down at the kid. "Okay, fine, but I was hoping to have a matching suit of armor with Val there..." The boy laughed at that and disapeared. Trompping up to the rest of the party who were all hanging out in front of Kiahra's hut, brushing out Val's horse, Cervie muttered. "Meet all kinds round here..." Looking up along Thorne's legs and hips, licking his lips, Cervie was quiet for the first time since he'd been around her.

Thorne:

Rolling her eyes at Cervantes' ranting, Thorne slowly braided the horse's tail to keep it dust free, securing the intricate weave with a piece of leather from her pack. She looked over at Valdimer and said quietly, "Me thinks Fearless Leader has a bone to chew." She then heard silence and looked behind her, sighing as she saw Cervantes close by. She just hoped he didn't try to assume that she would do anything with him. She really didn't understand what all the big fuss about sex was, after all, she was doing just fine as a virgin.

Valdimer

Val turned to look at Cervantes. "So, what did the boy want, oh fearless and galiant leader?" he said, taking off his breast plate, gauntlets, and arm guards.......

Thorne:

Finishing Stonewall's tail, Thorne packed up her kit and slipped back to her own packs, stowing the small leather case in her bags. She stood up then and walked over to Talesin, bringing with her an apple and carrot. She proceded to feed the treats to Tal slowly as she watched Valdimer and Cervantes, wondering herself what was in that letter.

Cervantes:

"Wha? Oh, we're just supposed to trade the fucking thing for your bloodstone... And you might not want to wear your fucking armor around the dragon, she's a greenie too... They might be related..." Cervie said, all the while, following Thorne with his lusting eyes. He was looking at her breasts now...

Thorne:

Looking at the horse Cervantes had road all day, Thorn's brow knitted. "Cervantes, did you take care of your mount?" She was worried about the horse, since she was pretty sure that it wasn't Cervantes' own. She wanted to ignore him like Valdimer had suggested, but he kept staring. Did she have something on her cloak? It was unnerving to be watched like that.

Cervantes:

"Wha?" He looked up into her eyes when she talked to him. "Oh... Yeah, she did her buisness awhile back..." He mumbled as he licked his lips again.

Valdimer

"Trade it??? What do we look like? Halflings? And my armor doesnt come off, you know that. Not under any cercomstances." he looked to Cervantes, giving him a "no way" look as refering to his armor. "What exactly is that trinkit anyway?"
