~Deacon's Fucked up Cancer Thread~

I'm doing pretty good at the moment. It all starts on Tuesday. Tomorrow is my dry run, where they test everything for my radiation treatments.

Thanks for all the support and positive thoughts :)

Sending you a big hug and lots of love...((((((((((hug))))))))))...:):rose:

I don't think it stands a chance against you. Keep positive and reach out if needed.

Thoughts and prayers with you Deacon. Stay positive and be open about your thoughts and fears. Feel the love of your family and friends.

Today was an easy day, but a bit long. Add that to my nerves, and I was pretty tired when I got home, so I slept.

I got my three little mole sized tattoos, one on each hip, and one right below my belly button. :) I must have had fifty x-rays taken, and then everything checked out perfect, so my first treatment is tomorrow at 3 pm, and then the times are all over the place for the first week, and then I slide right into the 8:30am slot like I wanted :D The number one benefit to living 90 minutes away, lol.

So I got my chemo pills right here, these should be fun :cool:

More info tomorrow when I finally see and feel what this is all about.

Thanks for the support people, love ya.

I hope it is all good news from here on out.

So here's a question. Did the docs give you any dietary restrictions or a list of foods you should be eating during your treatment? It might not be the cure-all chicken soup. If so, let me (us) know. Recipes forthcoming.

I have to avoid antioxidants. The radiation "oxidizes" the cancer cells. Antioxidants prevent oxidation, so bad for business so to speak. I'm supposed to stay hydrated and increase my protein intake, lol. No no, don't make me eat the eggs and the hamburgers :D

I mostly just have a list of things to avoid, otherwise I'm good. Just took my first chemo pill and my head didn't explode, so first worry is past me :D

I'm up because I can't seem to stay asleep, so that kinda sucks, but it'll fix itself I hope.

So far I can totally recommend the Bananas and Cream Premier Protein shakes. I'm a little unsure if I like, or don't like the Cookies and Cream. Next will be to try the Caramel. But I've also got the Peanut butter and Chocolate in my Amazon Cart.
I also like the Premier Protein Oats- apple Cinnamon. I got that from Costco.

I'm not a big meat eater, so I have to find extra ways for Protein. Besides eggs and nuts lol
I've also tried Fairlife now. If you normally like Milk (which I don't) it is pretty close to Milk. Kefir is also pretty good.

Hi Sassy. How are you feeling? Have you started your treatments yet?

I'm sorry Sassy...I didn't know you were dealing with the big C as well. Know you will be me in my prayers, kiddo! :rose::rose::rose:

Thanks Sassy, I'll remember those. Might need those suggestions in a few weeks. :D

So far the kidneys seem to be surviving the chemo pill. That's my biggest fear at the moment.

I leave for my first zap of radiation in less than two hours, so getting a bit aprehensive and scared, lol. Only because of what Desiree said, it's the unknown, lol.

I think we all have that fight or flight gene still in us....for me is started when I went to the dentist...damn I hated the wait more than anything...

I know you will be fine once you are there and focused on what you need to do.

I'd say good luck this afternoon but luck isn't in the picture this time...it's positive thoughts and prayers sent your way that is the focus of the day.
