Yep, the man who won us the World Cup, with that very kick, great sporting moment. It was all set up for him to do it to, the way he'd been built up before the tournament.

It was an AMAZING moment!!! :) I was in a pub here in Cape Town that was packed with white clad Englishman (and a few long-faced Jocks!! ;) ) When THAT kick went over - so did all of us!!! The place erupted...it was THE greatest single , most intense feeling of my entire life......sex comes waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down the list from that moment!!! :)

Right....reliving that calls for a wank!!! ;)

Morning Pete

Yes it was one of the greatest sporting moments in British sporting history but better than sex? Not entirely sure about that!

Morning Mate !!! I guess sex is pretty good too ! ;) I dunno about you , but I've watched that match at least 15 times since November and I get all excited all over again!

The world cup in '66 was terrific too , but I was only 12 and thought we'd win it again and again !! Guess i'll be 112 before we win anything again at football!

Gloriousday here in CT today - cloudless sky and the students ahve left most their clothes at home !! :p

Gotta hand it to South Africans , they make a fine woman!! :)

When you off to NZ mate - it's some flight , have plenty of ale so you lseep thru it!!

I have watched it a few times though probably not as many as you and like you say its almost as good watching it again as seeing it for the first time. It must be one of the few occassions where we English have built up a player to the extent that we did for him to actually perform on the day and score the winning goal! The trouble is I think that we all seem to forget it wasn't just Jonny that won the world cup, we were a great team.... in fact the best!

You'll be pleased to know that the weather here is grey and windy. Not raining at the moment but will be soon no doubt.

Good advice for the flight which I must admit I am not looking forward too. I can't get too pissed though as I am travelling with a collegue who I hardly know and he might want intelligent conversation.

A mere 36 hours before I depart now.

Well although I have been to France many times (indeed I was near La Rochelle for 2 weeks during the summer) I have never been to l'Aquitaine so I can't really say. But then I was talking about things coming out of France and I guess l'Aquitaine is staying where it is.

With regard to Coke...........my point exactly but I still understand that this English sparkling wine really has got the wine connoiseurs talking. Until someone I actually know tells me that it is good though I shall not be rushing out to get a bottle.

I was refering to Aquitaine because it's one of the French regions where the English buy lots of houses... like Normandy.

I was watching tv this morning and I saw that the EU commission was about to sue the British governement because customs are becoming very annoying to people going to France and coming backwith tons of booze and cigarettes. At least, there something else that's good about us.... :D

Well as I said before your wine alone is worth going to France for. The thing is the taxes on booze and cigarettes in France is far less than in England so it is worth people paying to go across "La Manche" loading up their cars with the goods that they could buy here and effectively save money even taking in to account the travelling costs! It's great for your economy but not necessarily for ours.

Vive le difference!

Indeed. GB loses millions of € in taxes because of this.
But you better go to Belgium these days because taxes on cigarettes here are getting very high.
I have planned a trip to Bruxelles in December but, as I don't smoke, I will spend my money on beer and mussels instead ! :D

Mussels? I love mussels but aren't they cheaper in France than Belguim.

I'm good thanks French Guy, although its a bit dank and miserable here. Typical british weather.

Mussels, mussels from brussels, isn't that van damme?

Because we invented the stuff ? :D
Frankly I don't have a clue except that potatoes were probably introduced to Europe in France first

I thought Sir Walter Raleigh brought them back for Queen Elizabeth I.
