DonOld is a Loser

he's just stated a plethora of lies:

she wants to defund police
she wants to ban fracking in Pennsylvania
she singlehandedly destroyed San Francisco
she's going to raise all your small business taxes
blah blah blah blah blah

I am no fan of these two Cheneys, but here we are. I think they are less deprived than Trump. I think overall more Republicans lean toward Cheney than Trump, though.

One can only hope that many ordinary moderate republicans (not the Cheneys) who vote for Kamala and Tim, etc, will realize that the Democratic Party is their best option going forward and change affiliations permanently.

The White Stripes are suing former President Donald Trump for “significant monetary damages” for using their 2003 hit song, “Seven Nation Army,” for campaigning purposes without permission.

In a 13-page complaint filed on Monday, the rock duo comprised of Jack and Meg White said that Trump used the Grammy award-winning song “to burnish Defendant Trump’s public image, and generate financial and other support for his campaign and candidacy on the backs of Plaintiffs [The White Stripes], whose permission and endorsement he neither sought nor obtained in violation of their rights under federal copyright law.”

20 educators at barron's school sign open letter stating trump is a threat to the republic

JP Eggers, who became Stern’s interim dean on July 1, was among 20 educators at NYU Stern who signed the October 2020 open letter to “sound the alarm” about the perils of a Donald Trump presidency to business leaders. The letter ultimately garnered more than 1,000 signatures from staff at top business schools across the US.

Professor Deepak Malhotra of Harvard University, who authored the letter, claimed that Trump “denigrates science, peddles in lies, incites violence, attempts to delegitimize the press, politicizes everything from the justice department to the CDC to the postal service, and seeks to undermine the integrity of American elections”.

“It is time for business leaders to declare publicly what so many have been saying privately: that President Trump is unfit to lead and is a threat to the Republic,” he urged.

Like the last one, this too will go away because Trump has a license.

Eventually the campaign will sue BMI for fraud because they purchased the license so they could play the music legally but the artists in the catalog refuse to allow him to do so. Given the hoopla from his prior campaigns over this, BMI either knew or should have known this would occur but sold Trump's campaign the license anyway after assurances that Trump would be allowed to play the music in BMI's catalog if he purchased the license.

This is classic fraud.

In yet another escalation of his long-running war with the press, Donald Trump called into Fox & Friends the morning after his debate with Vice President Kamala Harris and threatened to have ABC’s broadcast license pulled. Trump was furious after the network fact-checked several of his false claims during the debate, like when Trump spread debunked conspiracy theories about immigrants eating people's dogs.

“They ought to take away their license for the way they did that,” Trump fumed, referencing ABC’s corrections during the 105-minute debate, which he repeatedly claimed was rigged in favor of Harris. “The press is so dishonest in this country. It’s amazing,” he added, clearly angered by what he saw as one-sided treatment.

maybe if Harris lied like he did, they'd fact check her more often...

Donald Trump spoke during Tuesday's debate for about 35 minutes and 41 seconds. During that time period, he told at least 33 lies, per CNN's fact-checker, Daniel Dale. That's nearly a lie every minute.

Former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales became the latest high-profile Republican to endorse Kamala Harris – in a stinging op-ed where he says Donald Trump would abuse the tremendous powers of the presidency for his own gain. Gonzales, who served during the George W. Bush administration, says he has a unique perspective as the only person to serve as both AG and White House counsel.

'Power is intoxicating and based on Trump’s rhetoric and conduct it appears unlikely that he would respect the power of the presidency in all instances; rather, he would abuse it for personal and political gain, and not on behalf of the American people,' Gonzalez writes.

Gonzalez holds Trump accountable for his actions on January 6, writing that he failed to discharge his oath. 'Trump failed to do his duty and exercise his presidential power to protect members of Congress , law enforcement and the Capitol from the attacks that day. He failed to deploy executive branch personnel to save lives and property and preserve democracy,' writes Gonzales.

I've only been here 7.5 years, but in all American political history has there ever been so many republicans (former and current republicans of noted office) coming out publicly to state the dangers of voting for the republican presidential candidate just months away from the election?

New York's highest court rejects trump's bid to remove gag order

This morning, the New York Court of Appeals, the state's highest court, rejected Donald Trump's last attempt to appeal Justice Merchan's gag order. Previously the gag order was imposed through the end of the trial, after which Merchan substantially limited the gag order.

In a short order this morning, the New York Court of Appeals wrote that the appeal is "dismissed without costs, by the Court sua sponte, upon the ground that no substantial constitutional question is directly involved."

so this means the limited gag order remains in place through mid-November, the same time trump's due to face sentencing by Judge Merchan
