It is a beautiful line. I kept finding it online, but without context. And having been at a wedding that had a line from fucking Lolita on things, I always look for context. (I love Lolita. It is the best example of an unreliable narrator in literature, and Nabokov is brilliant. But as lovely as "It was love at first sight, at last sight, at ever and ever sight," is, it is also a statement by an unrepentant hebephile for a 12-year old. Read the fucking book before you quote it, you idiots!) And this is no different. It is a powerful line from a poem filled with anger and pain, and not romantic in the least.
