I went through this period of alt usage where I'd sign up and use a new handle for all of a week and then get a new one and ... I have no excuse other than I was fairly nuts at the time. Anyhoo. I think the grand total came to 8 or 9 alts and without fail that mofo would PM my latest username within ten minutes of me signing up.

It then dawned on us that we had this exact conversation when I first joined in August before I disappeared into RL.

I don't remember his user name, but I do remember that he said his real name was Francis. He PM'd me pretty much as soon as I posted on my very first thread. It never occurred to me that there were creeps who just prey on new users. I didn't want to be rude, so I answered. It quickly devolved into him trying to cyber with me. I remember becoming really uncomfortable and also realizing that he was close to my grandpa's age (ewwww).

I logged out and stayed away for a little while. When I came back, it was with the realization that I didn't have to answer every PM.

1sb and I only had one exchange and it was silly fun on a thread. I definitely feel like I missed out on getting to know a cool person.

My first pm, I don't remember. I got several of the "welcome to lit" variety. After that, it was someone who wanted to get to know me better after bantering on the boards. He's still around so I won't embarrass him. But let's just say I was extremely skittish, and he was patient with me. Until he wasn't.

My next experience was different. Incendiary. Within three days he had broken through my walls. That one lasted for a few years and he just drifted away about 6 months ago. An Aussie. That voice... but we never met. Logistics.

The litsters I've met have been from the US.

I mentioned my first PM yesterday- just a random guy responding to my first post on a thread where I recounted a painful experience. We clicked, and stayed "together" for about 5 years.

I want to go on record as the only woman on Lit Troubledone hasn't PMed. I also want to go on record as saying my SRP partner had only literary interest in mind.

Nope, I don't think he's PMed me either. Unless you count his tenure as Ravi; then, yeah, once. He was actually very nice to me, and eventually told me what he was interested in, but didn't push for it.
