Endless Curiosity

Are there posters on Lit you like, even post-stalk, but never interact with? Why not?

Bonus Question: Who?
Bonus Points: Send them a PM. :D

Like? Yes. Post-stalk? Not so much. If I get an unsolicited PM from someone and it has potential, I will look up some of their recent posts. Otherwise, I tend to only see posts that I stumble across.

I'll admit it ... I'm a random PM'er. If I'm chatting back and forth on the boards with someone and I have a "not for the general public" question or comment, I'll shoot 'em a PM. If I haven't chatted with someone but they've caught my attention, PM's will fly. I don't worry about it. Either they'll answer or they won't.

BQ: No one.
BP: I do it all the time. I'm knee deep in bonus points. Where do I cash them in??

Have you ever done anything on Lit that you regret?

My answer is yes. When I was fairly new, I acted like a complete asshat at one point. In the moment, I thought I was defending friends. After gaining a little perspective, I realized that I was not looking at the whole picture. My attitude was inappropriate and, although I apologized to those I was an ass to, words spoken cannot ever truly be forgotten. :(

When I first discovered lit, I was very naive about the way things worked here. I met a woman in Ampics and we began a relationship. It became a very serious thing, but ended abruptly when I went to meet her, and she left me stranded at an airport. After taking a break, I came back to lit and took out my hurt on anyone that I could. I hurt many people, and I'm still haunted by those days over a decade ago.

I don't really have any regrets. Things I wish had gone differently, sure. But I learned from those things, as much about myself as I learned about others. And if you open yourself up a little here, you can get hurt. But you can also get to know some of the nicest people who exist.

I don't think I regret much. I learn and move on.

Not that I've felt very much like moving on Lately.

I've had a lot going on in my life recently. That stress coupled with my uncanny ability to attract people who seem To thrive on pretending to be something they're not has kind of worn down my funny bone...to a sharp point as a matter of fact.

So, my one regret is I've allowed myself to become bitter.

This.. I've met some incredible people.

Sure I have regrets. Things could have been handled better, I could have thought through actions with my big head instead of the other one. I have hurt people's feelings a few times and that sort of thing does bother me. I don't like to do that, it's not my nature. In every case that I'm aware of, I've apologized as well.

After 30k+ posts, I've made some stupid ones I'm sure. Those are much easier to put in the rear view mirror. I remember worrying about everything I posted as a newb. Then I realized people don't remember many individual posts, what they do remember is how they're treated by someone and a person's overall attitude. It doesn't matter what you say as long as you are true to yourself and respectful of others.

There are a few things I don't do, and regret is one of them. I see people spending a lifetime under the heavy weight of regret, and often when it doesn't even matter. Being hurt is part of the human experience, hardly anyone escapes it. Possibly no-one at all.

That doesn't mean that I feel like it's ok to go around hurting people's Willy Nilly :D but if you do get hurt, or hurt someone while going through the motions of life, I don't believe you should hang on to that forever. My mantra is.. Sometimes the only thing you can do with a bad experience is learn from it. Learn, move on, and drop the useless regrets. They don't help.

When I first started posting I was more of a character of myself and not being true to who I am. That I regret. I've looked at some of my older posts and I shake my head. I also regret my early AV choices, lots of boob happening in those lol

There was a Lister I had a crush on who dared me to start a nasty thread on the GB. Sometimes, in the quest to be liked or accepted, we do things we regret.
It took a while to realize that I could be private and likable at the same time. I hug and kiss because that's who I am. I have made some good friendships on here and none of them I regret regardless how they turned out.

Regret is such a strong word....

This being my first forum experience I was, perhaps, a tad naive.

I am not much of a liar. Consequently, it is something of a weak spot. I don't really understand why someone would deliberately misrepresent themselves or their interests so it catches me off guard. Real time I've developed defenses. I can spot even a potential liar at a hundred feet. :D

Lit is more difficult. As mentioned, a lack of social cues. I am learning, though.

She left you stranded at an airport?!?!?!? That is...so horrible. :(
