Fav'd then UnFav'd on the same day - common occurrence?

I like to read longer stories in the app, which doesn't know about bookmarks. So I favorite stories in the browser and then open them up in the app.

I, quite often, on a longer story that I am interested in, I will jump from the first page to the last, and bookmark to read later. I have at times inadvertently clicked the favorite button instead of the read later button. As @stickygirl mentioned earlier, the save to read later should also be on the first page also

For me it is. The little ribbon looking thing in the top right corner of every page has favorite, read later, and every other list I've made. Maybe it's just on mobile?

No, it's on the desktop site too.

Someone followed me yesterday and I only saw it when it was 'eight hours ago'. When I went into my followers to look, they were not there!

I often find that when I gain a new follower, another one drops off for some reason.

All favorites added together only amount to a very large dress size. Actually that is true, its a big larger than that but not by much.

I've never checked to see if anyone's favorite of my story has been listed in their list of favorites.
When someone favorites one of my stories, (if I'm not busy) I often look to see what else they like. I personally love it when someone has been on the site a while, favorites my story, and doesn't have many others favorited... that means I did something special for that person.

Yeah, https://www.literotica.com/android/

It's missing most of the functionality of the web site but it does let me load the entire story in one go with no ads that I'm embarrassed to let people see over my shoulder.
I have DEFINITELY gotta check that out! I hate reading lit in public because of all the

TITS!!! ( . )( . )

that show up as soon as you open the site.

I was favorited by the same person three days running. I just assumed they were using it as a bookmark for my latest story since they had no authors favorited when I checked their page

Before one of the more recent upgrades, there wasn't a "bookmark" feature at all. So there'll be be many readers who still use faves as a bookmark, to read later.

It's one of the reasons I don't think faves are especially meaningful, unless the list your story is on is a short one - then I reckon it's meaningful, by looking at the company your story keeps.
Since the recent upgrades I'm not sure how a person bookmarks a story, rather than marking it as a favorite. Lately, I've marked a few stories as favorites, but I'm not sure if I only bookmarked them because I can't see an option for both.

Lately, I've noticed a lot of people favoriting my stories, but not of them actually show up.

It (sometimes not always) takes a while. @Djmac1031 and @lovecraft68 both followed me, but didn't show up.

I immediately messaged them to ask why, and they both insisted that they had followed me like normal. I checked back later and I was in their favorites

I write longer stories and get what I believe is an above average number of readers adding me to their reading list (bookmark icon) to facilitate them coming back to where they left off.

I also get a fair number of favorites (heart icon), which I have been told by readers indicates that the are adding the story to those that they intend to come back to read over and over. Comments from readers corroborate that this has happened several time. I know that there are stories here that I have marked as a favorite for the ease of finding them to read again.

The number of favorites for my first story here currently sits at 376 and is in 454 reading lists. The numbers have been growing since 2014 but I don't track when they might drop due to someone taking it off their lists. Based on my understanding of how readers use the lists, I could see the reading list number fluctuating more than the favorites.

In comparison, the story that was published yesterday has 31 favorites and is in 56 reading lists. Again, at over 80K words, this is understandable.

Last I checked, I had 117 followers. I know I've had a few (four or five) since it had gone up last time. I am never sure how accurate the count is. It seems people come and go, I guess.

But I still don't understand how to lock in a favorite, rather than just booking marking it. I'd like to think if I've favorited a story, that it sticks.

Before the recent upgrade you just clicked on it as a favorite and that was it, it happened. Now, I'm not sure.

I've noticed that readers will Favorite your story, then unFav it the same day evidenced by my story no longer appearing in their Fav list. I assume they've used the Fav button to highlight the story and if it doesn't meet their expectations they'll simply unFav it. It is just me? Do I leave a trial of broken orgasms? Or does this happen to other writers?
I sometimes will accidentally hit the fav button when trying to hit the read later button, especially when reading on the phone

That is the reading list icon. The first option is Favorites List, the rest are lists that you create. Bookmark and favorite are the same.

If I like a story, I just add it as a favorite and I've never bookmarked anything. But I wonder why the site bothers to send notices about bookmarks, since they don't really mean anything to the author.

Yesterday, I had someone favorite all six chapters of one of my stories, but none of them showed up. I've seen that happen a lot lately, even though there's a heart symbol, it doesn't show up as a favorite.
