Favorite Movie Scenes

Not surprisingly, I have.

My favorite scene from that movie--prepare yourself for a shocker--is Hooper X's pure dead brilliant invective against racism in sci-fi, comics and, specifically, Star Wars.

"Fuck Lando Calrissian... Uncle Tom n*gga!"
LOL! "What's a Nubian? Bitch, you almost made me laugh."

The Archie is gay bit was pretty funny too.

I love in Mallrats, when TS and Brodie are arguing about Superman being able to have sex with Lois Lane and then start arguing about how the cookie stand is not part of the food court, it is an autonomous unit for mid-mall snacking. :D

Another of Banky's pearls of wisdom:

"All every woman really wants - be it mother, senator, nun - is some serious deep-dicking... That’s why I can’t buy lesbians. Everyone needs dick. See, I can buy fags. Bunch of guys that need dick - just plain need it. That I get. Dykes? Bullshit posturing. But - live and let live, I guess."

I know it's a chick flick and a lot of guys will probably roll their eyes but I love the whole last scene in Beaches with Hilary's last days on the beach spent with C.C. and her daughter.....just about everything from the time they start playing Wind Beneath My Wings until the end of the movie....makes me bawl like a baby every time.

Welcome to the thread! I happen to think that chick flicks are great! They all have their place. Please, stop by any time with some of your favorite scenes.

Well I'm a guy and I loved Beaches, it was very moving and even brought a prickle to my eye when Bette sung that song. Nice memory.

To counter the chick flicks, a complete guy flick - Mad Max - the entire opening car chase sequence when they are chasing the Night Rider. Everyone getting excited on the radio, the Night Rider giving a maniacal rant on the radio, then Max gets on the radio and only asks Goose if there is much damage.

I tend to like "chick flicks" with an international flavor, "The English Patient," "Chocolat', "The Fabulous Destiny of Amélie Poulain"... basically anything with Juliette Binoche or Audrey Tautou. However, given a choice between a movie like "Beaches" and something along the lines of a "Fast and The Furious" or "MI3," I'll take "Beaches" every time.

Another scene that always made me want to yell at the tv: in Singles, when Campbell Scott leaves the drunken yet beautiful and honest message to Kyra Sedgewick's answering machine just as she is coming in the door. She misses the message, then rewinds her machine only to have it eat the tape. She even says "always eating tapes!" GRRRRR! I want to smack her so much there, lol. Get a new machine dammit, you just missed the most heartbreaking message!

I just watched She's the man (mediorce but funny. And I like the Shakespeare updates. Vinnie was good.)

I also saw Beowulf and Grendel, (And that was as fantastic as I remember it in theatres. I know how silly this sounds But I just love the opening scene. With the caption a hero arrises from the sea. And he walks out. Boots squisjing in the mud. So simple and common. So easy. His conversation with the fisherman. I'm a hero.

That's such a great human moment.

Movie: "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" or as I call it "Mystic Sisterhood of the Fried Green Traveling Ya-Ya Pants"

Favorite Scene:

Tibby: I brought something for you... ta da.
Bailey: The traveling pants.
Tibby: Yeah, I just got them back, from Lena.
Bailey: The one in Greece.
Tibby: Yeah, she said that we were right all along and that the pants are magic and I don't know the details but I do know Lena and for her to say that must mean... that it must be true... so I was thinking that maybe you could have them for a while.
Bailey: They don't fit me remember?
Tibby: Yeah, I know, but that doesn't matter... none of it really matters... you have to take them, Bailey... okay you have to let them help you... please. I know that you're tired, okay, but you can't give up, the pants will give you a miracle, you have to believe.
Bailey: But Tibby, the pants have already worked their magic on me. They brought me to you.

At this point I let out a tortured sob, à la Claire Danes in every movie in which she's been, and began to cry like a gay 4-year-old lost at the mall.

Spiderman 2

When spiderman is hurt after stopping the train and the passengars pass him back over thier heads. Then, they give him his mask back and tell that they won't tell anyone.

The end of Beauty and the Beast, when Belle's love causes the Beast to transform back to a prince.

True love always sees the prince or princess under the outer shell.

The diner scene where Sally pretends to have an orgasm and another patron says, "I'll have what she's having."

from When Harry Met Sally

Bit of trivia about that scene. The woman that says, "I'll have what she's having," is actually the director (Rob Reiner)'s mother...

There is a scene in Circle of Friends that gets me. When they all go to the dance in a group, and Chris O'Donnell dances with every single girl but Minnie Driver, and she is walking out in tears just as he comes to take her hand. When he explains that he was saving the best for last and she breaks down, telling him that he "musn't mess her about"...that even though she's a large girl, she still gets hurt. My god....that scene has made me choke up every single time I've watched it since I first saw it in the theatre. I was always the big girl with the unrequited crush...I COMPLETELY felt her pain. *sniffles*

Well I agree with the she's the man assessment. It was actually pretty cute!
One of my favorites is St. Elmo's Fire. Where Ally Sheedy has slept Andrew Mccarthy after findi :) ng out Judd Nelson was fucking around, and then he comes over drunk and she walks out in a sheet and says "It's not the fat girl". OUCH!

Mash

[Hotlips O'Houlihan: I wonder how such a degenerated person ever reached a position of authority in the Army Medical Corps.
Father Mulcahy: He was drafted.

If I attempted to remember them all, I'd spend all week thinking about it. So I won't even begin.
